Chapter 236: Chapters Two Three and Four: Stone Bone
Brother already understood Elder Brother’s intentions. In a single leap from the Lava Lake, he ferociously opened his mouth wide and spewed out - he had held a large amount of lava in his mouth. As it gushed out, a fiery rain covered the sky. Any Element-devouring Bee that was touched by this immediate fell into the Lava Lake.
Among the rain of lava fire, a Fire Pill was concealed!
The Fire Pill shot directly at the hive, exploded with endless flames gushing out, and engulfed the entire beehive.
Next, Little Loach, amidst the busy task of consuming popped corn, poked its head out of the lava and shot a Sword Pill towards the rock ceiling above the hive.
Sword aura crisscrossed, and the connection between the beehive and the rock ceiling was smoothly and neatly cut off.
The enormous beehive fell into the Lava Lake.
From inside the beehive, some special frequency of sound waves were emitted. The remaining Element-devouring Bees, disregarding their lives, rushed towards the burning and falling hive, using their bodies to extinguish the fire on the hive!
When Little Loach had first arrived, it was not suitable to use such a tactic.
Even if it could cut down and ignite the hive, the number of Element-devouring Bees was vast. They would risk their lives to save the Bee Queen.
Or, at critical moments, the Bee Queen could hatch the bee pupae stored in the hive and take the opportunity to fly away. They were very close to the water wall. Once they submerged in the River Water, Little Loach wouldn’t be able to do anything.
But now, there were only a few tens of thousands of Element-devouring Bees remaining, and since a portion of them was burned to death by the lava Little Loach spewed earlier, they were no longer capable of saving the Bee Queen even if they ignored their own lives.
The Fire Pill constantly released flames, and those Element-devouring Bees grouped together and crashed into the fireball of the hive. The external Element-devouring Bees burnt into a protective shell, and those inside were still alive.
If there were enough numbers, they might have succeeded.
But now, the flames constantly shooting from the Fire Pill quickly burned the bees from inside to outside.
Just then, the hive suddenly burst open. A large swarm of newborn Element-devouring Bees formed a circle and began to flee towards the River Water to protect the Bee Queen inside.
In one hop, a sword light from the Sword Pill sliced through this swarm of bees.
Following the same logic, it was because there were fewer Element-devouring Bees, and the number of bee pupae after previous consumption was also considerably insufficient, and could not withstand one attack from the Sword Pill.
After the Sword Pill, the Fire Pill followed in a leap, releasing a large flame that perfectly roasted the newborn Element-devouring Bees.
The burning Element-devouring Bees fell from the sky one by one, including a Bee Queen that was half a foot long.
The Bee Queen wasn’t completely dead yet and kept issuing that special frequency of sound waves, calling its minions to rescue it. The remaining Element-devouring Bees rushed over and, mid-way, were turned into little fireballs by the Fire Pill.
The Lava Lake was boiling with various Element-devouring Bees, the shattered hive, and screaming Bee Queen, splashing large waves of flames as they successively fell into it.
Little Loached enjoyed eating heartily, and even had the leisure to comment: This one’s been burnt, this one’s just right, this one’s too skinny, oh oh oh, this one’s mouth is filled with pulp, delicious...
When the Bee Queen fell down, Little Loach was drooling and waiting underneath with a wide-open mouth to catch it accurately!
In the end, the main body of the beehive crashed into the lava. Little Loach swam around it, and didn’t let it go either, rushing up to swallow it in one gulp.
The hive was so massive that when it was swallowed, it formed a visible bump on Little Loach’s body. It slowly slid down into its belly, gradually settling.
As everything quieted down, Little Loach floated happily in the Lava Lake: this is good, the whole family is neatly arranged inside my belly.
Owen Bertram didn’t forget to instruct Brother: "If you can obtain the memory of the Bee Queen, you must tell me, it’s very important."
Little Loach lazily raised its head and shook it lightly.
Owen Bertram didn’t hold out much hope. The memory of insects like the Insect Monsters are too short and chaotic compared to beasts. Even if he used a Spirit Seed to control the Bee Queen, he would still probably not be able to retrieve the memory related to the treasure mine.
Moreover, how the Bee Queen manipulates the entire swarm is mysterious and cryptic – the scariest thing is, it is said that if the Bee Queen of the Element-devouring Bees dies, a new Bee Queen is born from the swarm instantly. The new Bee Queen is said to be identical to the old one!
Owen Bertram didn’t want to hastily implant a Spirit Seed into the Bee Queen without adequate preparation.
Elder Brother glanced at Brother’s state. Under general circumstances, he wouldn’t make Brother do anything, but today was a bit different. He still attached his soul to him, and then felt his body becoming heavy. Indeed, he felt lazy and didn’t want to move.
He forced himself to perk up and began to swim towards the depths of the Lava Lake.
After going around a few times, Owen Bertram confirmed that the Lava Lake was funnel-shaped. It continuously narrows down, and at the deepest part of the Lava Lake, the area is only as big as a room.
The moment he swam past, Owen Bertram felt a tremendous suction force, pulling Little Loach’s body downward!
As Little Loach was too full, even when Owen Bertram was in control, it responded slowly to this sudden suction force that instantly sucked half of Little Loach’s body down!
Owen Bertram was shocked and became incredibly alert, struggling to swim upwards to escape.
After struggling for a while, he managed to break free from this force and surged hundreds of feet upwards in one breath.
"What’s going on?!" As Owen Bertram observed from afar, he saw all the lava begin to recede as this suction force appeared. Massive amounts of lava flowed into it. The bottom of the lake seemed to have a bottomless hole.
Owen Bertram hid far away, but he was still dragged along by the flowing lava for more than a dozen feet.
Then, after the receding tide ended, it started rising again, and the lava surged back out from the bottomless hole at the bottom of the lake.
It was only at this time that Owen Bertram dared to approach slightly. Then he extended his whiskers into the bottomless hole. The whiskers stretched out infinitely, and he felt that he had extended it hundreds of feet but still couldn’t touch the bottom!
Owen Bertram pondered for a bit and then gave up on this action. He retracted his whisker. This kind of thing was best suited for Mechanical Dao Soldiers to do.
Then there was another question: Was that lonely little island indeed the continuation of the treasure mine in this area?
Owen Bertram moved close to the island. This island was more like a solitary pillar, thick at the top and thin at the bottom, and was as thick as a person’s embrace. It extended all the way from the bottom of the lake. Owen Bertram swam to the deepest part and found that this "pillar" seemed to be separate from the bedrock of the lake, with a gap in between.
After thinking for a bit, and seeing that Brother still didn’t know when he would finish digesting, he might as well thoroughly uncoil his body at the bottom of the lake, then coil around the base of the pillar and slowly exert force. He planned to use the python’s move, to clamp the pillar broken and take it out.
