Chapter 1225: Chapter 473: Melting Furnace_2

But just like that, the giant wolf’s body suddenly shook, its green eyes quickly dimming before its massive body fell heavily to the ground with a thud. Its oversized limbs and tail twitched a few times before becoming completely still.

"Maria!" Verna excitedly called out, "Come help me drag it back."

Verna charged towards the second giant wolf. The wolf pack boiled in fury, rushing from all directions towards her. Huge grey figures could be seen everywhere, but their attacks, seemingly predestined, all missed Verna. Without changing her route, she evaded every attack naturally and easily before reaching the second giant wolf. She made a leap, and smashed her big spoon onto its neck.

The giant wolf collapsed onto the ground, its eyes rolling back.

"Ah?!" Lily felt overwhelmed, "The lady wants me to help drag the food back, but my legs are trembling."

Owen Bertram was as steady as a rock, but his subordinates were stunned. Everyone close to Owen had some inkling that Verna must be extraordinary, but how "extraordinary" she really was remained unclear to everyone except Owen.

Seeing Verna moving effortlessly among the Witch Wolves, and knocking down one with every swing of her spoon... everyone was reminded of the holy monk’s praise for Verna: a "Child born of Heaven’s Will".

The wolf pack was massive, the dominant force in a thousand-mile radius, numbering about three hundred. Even if Verna were to swing her spoon three hundred times without hitting anything, she would be exhausted. But when it came to food, Verna had a surprising determination. In a short time, she had knocked down more than fifty, and she still seemed energetic — she wouldn’t stop until she eradicated the entire wolf pack!

The Alpha Wolf was struck dumb at first, but it finally came back to its senses, screaming loudly, its eyes turning blood red. A dark whirlwind rose around it, amidst which flashes of electricity appeared.

With burning rage, the Alpha Wolf leapt from the boulder, manipulating wind and lightning with its Divine Powers, and lunged at the little girl. Ignoring everything else, it was determined to kill her!

The powerful Tier-6 Monster Beast’s Divine Power caused sand and stones to fly, shrouding the sky and casting the entire pile of boulders into darkness.

The storm churned up fist-sized rocks, which clattered and struck the boulders, leaving shallow pits.

In such conditions, a little girl shouldn’t even be able to walk properly, let alone kill wolves. A single rock hitting her could cause serious injury.

Yet, those rocks churned up by the storm seemed to have their paths predestined. They all reflexively avoided Verna. Even the violent wind didn’t cause her any trouble; it pushed her along, making her movements faster!

Verna was literally "riding the wind" now, which she obviously enjoyed. Laughing, she swung her big spoon, knocking down the giant wolves one after the other... Her speed of exterminating wolves +1.

"Awoo!" The Alpha Wolf felt a little stunned. ’What on earth did I do? How could this happen?’

The Alpha Wolf couldn’t believe it – a majestic Tier-6, unable to catch such a little morsel?

The wolf lunges in attack!

The wolf rides the wind to attack!

The wolf rides wind and controls lightning to attack!

The wolf combines the heavens and earth, attacks by riding wind and controlling lightning!

But it only came up empty. The Tier-6 Monster Beast couldn’t understand it – this was illogical! Santa and the others were also flabbergasted from a distance. We all thought the big man already possessed the greatest talent in the Summit Metropolitan Office, so why did nobody tell me there was a smaller one hidden in the Summit Guard Post?

Shelia held Lily’s arm tightly with her small, jade-like hands, excited and incredulous, "Maria, Maria, the lady is so powerful."

Lily gave her a disdainful look, as if Shelia was unworldly, "Of course the lady is powerful. Remember when we were in the Capital, she grabbed a scary little Black Snake without fear!"

Shelia retorted, ’How can this be the same?’

"Awooo—" The Alpha Wolf let out a terrifying howl, a web of lightning abruptly flooding from its body, covering itself in a layer. Its fur and bone armor were all drenched in such dark red electricity.

The Alpha Wolf’s eyes, equally red, were fixated on that tiny, bouncing morsel— Whoosh!

The bone armor on its body flew out at once. It was much larger compared to Verna, the armor pieces flying out from all around tried to encircle and trap Verna.

If I can’t catch you, I’ll simply change my strategy and trap you instead.

Indeed, the wolves were natural hunting masters. The Alpha Wolf quickly changed its tactics, which started to take effect. With bone armors closing in from all directions, it finally doused the feeling of Verna’s "predestined arrangements." Though Verna had killed dozens of Witch Wolves with her big spoon, the space encased by the bone armors was getting smaller and smaller. This was when Verna realized that she was surrounded by bone armors.

But there was a sizable gap between the bone armors, Verna should have easily found an opening and escaped. However, she had simply stared blankly at the bone armors, seemingly unsure of what to do.

"Awoo!" The Alpha Wolf was overjoyed. It immediately caused the bone armors to creak, falling into place and forming a perfect enclosed bone sphere, trapping Verna within.
