Chapter 1224: Chapter 473: Melting Furnace
Old Predecessor Santa was highly vigilant because this place was in the heart of the 36 Tribes of the Northern Region, surrounded by capable people of the Great Chieftain. Breaking into the Giant Foot Snow Mountain Ancient Annihilation Domain in such a forceful manner could lead to a disastrous Seventh Realm battle, so naturally, Old Predecessor needed to hold the line.
Unexpectedly, after Owen Bertram reached the Seventh Level, he and the Swordswoman began to coordinate seamlessly. One sword flew out, and the Northern Witch Priests fell like snowflakes.
The Swordswoman said that now there was only a single Great Realm difference between her and Owen Bertram, the situation was manageable. Unlike before, when the gap between them was too vast, and she had to handle everything by herself.
It had been a while since Glenn Mitchell had followed Mr. Owen, and he recalled that his actions had always been "overbearing" since their first meeting. However, upon closer thought, Mr. Owen was actually quite cunning, acting recklessly only when he had complete certainty.
As for Lily and Shelia, they need not be mentioned. Little Miss was bursting with joy. Although she seemed to have no expertise, her quick and agile jumps were as fast as the others’ flying.
The chubby Maria was running and screaming, carrying a big black pot and a large spoon, drawing lots of attention.
Once their group entered the Snow Mountain Ancient Destruction Domain, the Great Chieftain outside gasped for breath and privately told Nine Realms Sky, "Predecessor, please seal the entrance!"
Nine Realms Sky agreed immediately and assured the Great Chieftain.
Mr. Owen felt as if he was sitting on a water slide, spiraling down the Spiritual Light Vortex surrounded by changing colors. Suddenly, a cold wind blew on his face as his feet touched the ground, finding himself in a bitterly cold and dry wasteland.
This place was different from the snow mountain outside; everything here seemed deadly and cold. Underfoot were the crunching sounds of coarse gravel, and not a speck of green could be seen in sight. The distant mountain range resembled a giant snake, with few green plants on the ground, the few that existed were dried and tough, covered in spikes.
The whereabouts of Lionel Turner and the others who entered earlier were unknown. From the distant Gobi, a mournful howl came:
Woo—
Several hundred meters away, amid a group of disordered massive rocks, a giant figure leaped up on the highest rock. Its massive body had a pair of green eyes coldly staring at them.
This was a grey giant wolf over thirty meters long, with a metallic sheen on its fur. From its head to its tail, sharp, serrated bone spurs grew along the spine and, on either side, extended thick bone armor covering the giant wolf’s vital areas.
The huge wolf shook its body, and its massive tail rose from behind. Astonishingly, there was a poisonous-fanged snake mouth on its tail! Black venom dripped from the canine tooth, hissing when it splashed on the ground and produced a wisp of white smoke!
Following its howling, one by one, slightly smaller giant wolves emerged from the massive rocks, staring maliciously at everyone.
Old Predecessor Santa remembered and exclaimed, "I recall this place! It’s the Northern Ancient Land, where those rigid and conservative Witch Priests from Borg loved to be. There’s only one type of Demon Beasts here: wolves! All kinds of wolves. This pack should be Tier-5 Witch Wolves, and the Alpha Wolf should be Tier-6."
Mr. Owen looked at the wolves in amazement, wondering who gave them the courage to hunt two people at the Seventh Level?
Owen was holding onto chubby Verna’s hand when he suddenly felt it go empty. Verna had broken free and excitedly rushed out, shouting, "So much food!"
"Hehehe—" Verna, brandishing a large spoon, happily bounced over.
"Let’s make smoked meat out of them; there’s too much to eat in one go!"
Tier-6 Monster Beasts already possessed wisdom equal to humans, and wolf packs were particularly cunning. The Alpha Wolf coming out meant one thing: a show of power!
Although their levels were higher, the wolf pack had the advantage of numbers. Even if they couldn’t win, they would still make their opponents pay a huge price for victory. The best outcome would be to leave peacefully without further conflict.
Wait! What was that child from their team trying to do?
A trace of doubt flashed in the Alpha Wolf’s green eyes, but in just a short moment, the little girl had already bounced in front of it. The most robust male wolf among the Alpha’s group couldn’t restrain itself and charged with an open mouth—
"Miss!" Lily cried out, ready to rush forward and help, but Mr. Owen reached out and grabbed her collar, pulling her back.
The giant wolf bit at her while attempting to swipe and tear with its front claws, and its massive tail silently snaked from beneath its body.
However, all of these attacks missed Verna, and the whole process seemed as if the outcome had been predetermined before it happened. The massive wolf’s attack narrowly missed Verna’s tiny body as she easily made her way under the giant wolf’s neck. Dwarfed by the giant wolf’s ten-meter body, Verna hopped up and swung the large spoon, striking the giant wolf’s head with a Duang noise.
The large spoon in Verna’s hand appeared massive, as long as half of her body, but when it hit the giant wolf’s head, it seemed much smaller, similar to the length of the wolf’s hair.
