Chapter 85: Pregnant?

"Can I keep it?"

After their tea time ended, Anne pleadingly asked Felix.

"Yeah. You can. But if it wants to go outside, let it go because we don’t know if it is an outdoor cat."

"I understand."

Anne said and Felix got up to leave. But then, he heard a series of loud meows.

The cat jumped out of Anne’s arms and rubbed itself on Felix’s legs as if asking to go with him. It was nice. But Anne seemed sad seeing that.

Felix gently caressed the cat’s head and tried to leave again but the cat kept following him.

"It wants to go with you. So bring it with you."

Anne said with a smile and Felix waited about a second, then picked up the cat and left.

’I can’t believe I am so excited about having a cat in my arms.’

Felix looked at the cat purring and just stayed in his arms. The cat seemed too friendly and Felix felt like this was unreal.

"A cat?"

As Felix walked back to his office, he met Asher on the way who had a surprised look at the sight of the cat...or so he thought...

"I picked it up from the garden."

Felix said and Asher looked at the cat with bright eyes.

"Can I pet it?"

"Yeah, it has been friendly so far."

Asher came and gently rubbed the cat’s chin and head. Unknowingly, Asher’s lips drew a smile and he was feeling excited when the cat tilted its head to get more pets. While his eyes were on the cat, he didn’t know two gentle eyes were staring down at him smiling.

"Whose cat is this?"

"Ah. I still don’t know. I will ask Mary if she knows anything about this cat. It’s been just some time since I found it."

"I see. He is very friendly."

Asher said and moved out of the way to let the duke go. But he stared at the duke’s back as he left, the cat’s tail hanging from his arm.

Asher was on his way to see Miss Anne and clean the tea tables as tea time should be over by that time. However, he didn’t expect to see the duke like that.

’He was smiling all the time. Does he like cats that much?’

Asher recalled when he was stunned seeing the duke smiling widely, his eyes looking at the cat in his arms as if he was holding a baby or something.

So gentle and he looked like the most gentle man to ever exist.

He wasn’t exaggerating when he said that.

It’s the most heavenly thing he saw that day.

He was more surprised at the duke’s expression than the cat that appeared out of nowhere and now is friends with the duke.

The duke looked really handsome when he smiled.

Haha...

So, it turned out no matter how much he hated a lot of things about life, he still had things he loved that could make him smile like that.

It was good to know.

It’s just so relieving to know a person going through so much still has things they can enjoy and feel happy about.

He could use them to make him happy.

It was all good.

So good...

’The duke looked like a child. So innocent and happy. Haha...Cute.’

Asher finally turned around to go on his way, but happily smiled thinking the duke was ’cute’ for his behaviour.

Maybe this is a sign he will see the duke happy in the future, haha...

....

"Father! "

In the early hours of the night, Anne came calling for Felix with a worried tone.

Felix thought she was hurt or something but it turned out it was a similar thing but not her.

"Brother Ash! He suddenly fainted! Please call brother Lucas! I am scared. Brother Ash seems sick!"

Anne started crying, making Felix to first calm her down. Anne dragged Felix to her room and there was Asher, on the floor, unconscious and pale in a very concerning way.

Felix picked him up, brought him to his own bedroom before immediately sending a carriage to pick up Lucas. It would not take much time so all Felix had to do was try to wake up Asher or stay with him till Lucas arrives.

But he felt nervous. What if he does something unnecessary and ends up hurting him more?

Even shaking him to wake him up felt like a big thing to do.

He was feeling nervous.

He had rarely felt this intense nervous before...

He was also scared.

Just like Anne.

Both were really worried but Felix had to escort Anne back to her room because Lucas hates when children are around patients since they don’t know if whatever the sickness or problem will affect them.

He is always careful and Felix didn’t want Lucas to lash at him so he promised her he would inform her about everything once Lucas checked on Asher. Anne understood him and agreed to wait in her room so brother Ash could be examined and treated quickly.

Felix was relieved she didn’t throw a tantrum and ran back to the room and met Lucas on the way.

"Who is sick?"

"Asher."

"...Asher?"

"Yeah. Him. Why are you waiting? Let’s go!"

Felix dragged Lucas to his room and led him to Asher who was still laying on the bed, motionless and pale.

Lucas who was quite taken aback, unlike any other time, had his actions slowed down.

As always, Lucas first went to check Asher’s pulse, but his heart was thumping and he was feeling nervous all of a sudden.

Lucas was actually stunned the very first moment he heard Asher was sick because he immedietly went to guess why.

With the things happened, his first guess was of course it. What if it was actually the one he guessed? He didn’t know how he could break that news to Felix. Well...he had done that before but it was different with his friend.

As it is, when an omega and another male mate... of course, it can defnitely lead to this end.

A pregnancy.

Could it be...Asher is pregnant?!
