Tang Ming, seeing that there wasn’t anything related to him, went back to his original spot. Meanwhile, everyone else knew that Tang Ming had been a hot topic lately, having put several school bullies in their place at Tianjiao High School. Some even claimed Tang Ming was the new "big brother," the first among bullies, naturally making many a bit wary of him.

Chen Cang shot Tang Ming a cold glance from afar. Although he hated the guy, he had no immediate way to deal with him. However, Chen Cang felt particularly uncomfortable about Tang Ming staying at the Liu Family’s villa.

"Country bumpkin, one of these days I’ve got to deal with you," Chen Cang murmured to himself in spite, then led his bunch straight towards Liu Mengting.

"Meng Ting, look, even Chen Cang has come to see you," a girl teased.

Upon hearing this, Liu Mengting felt very uncomfortable. She wasn’t fond of Chen Cang to begin with, but this time he had come under the pretense of visiting a sick person, so she felt obliged to show some goodwill and let Chen Cang, the distasteful guy, inside her home.

"Chen Cang, you’re bringing gifts to my home in such large and small packages. You’re really too polite," Liu Mengting said with a hidden meaning, as she didn’t want to call out Chen Cang’s nickname in front of so many people.

"It’s nothing. I actually wanted to bring more, but my car couldn’t fit it all," Chen Cang said, pleased that Liu Mengting had spoken to him first.

"Do you think my family lacks these things?" Liu Mengting asked coldly.

"No, but I came to visit Li Xiaoli, the patient, and since it’s my first time here, it would be rude not to bring something." Chen Cang pointed at the items in his sidekick’s hands and continued, "These are nutritional supplements to boost the immune system; they’re very effective. I’ve asked a doctor about them."

"Enough, I don’t want your things. Take them back home and boost your own health," Liu Mengting said impatiently.

"Meng Ting, this isn’t for you. I heard that your good friend Xiaoli was sick, so I brought these things over right away to check on her," Chen Cang explained, somewhat awkwardly, "How about we go out for a meal? I’ll apologize properly. I admit, I’ve been too excessive before, but I promise to be on my best behavior from now on, to be a good person."

Chen Cang’s face was the picture of sincerity, as though he really had come to make amends.

However, Liu Mengting knew what he was truly like; he often made empty apologies without any genuine intention to change. Thus, she bluntly replied, "Chen Cang, you don’t need to apologize to me. If you want to apologize, talk to the teachers at school. You don’t study properly and think about all kinds of nonsense all day. Also, are you really that naive or just pretending?"

"What’s wrong with me?" Chen Cang, who had humbled himself to apologize, couldn’t understand why Liu Mengting would call him stupid, and he felt indignant at the thought.

"Xiaoli is so sick, and you’re still asking us to go out to eat. She’s already in pain, how can she have the energy to go out with you? You might as well take your buddies and go on your own. We’re not interested," Liu Mengting pointed at the door and said without a trace of warmth.

When Chen Cang saw that Liu Mengting was showing him out, he quickly said, "Meng Ting, don’t be mad. I didn’t realize your friend was that seriously ill. Since I’m already here, I insist on treating you to a meal. If we can’t go out, I’ll just have someone buy it. What do you all want to eat?"

Liu Mengting was so furious inside. If it weren’t for all the people around, she would have exploded at him. Chen Cang was acting like an insistent pest, bent on having a meal at her house, and she truly felt powerless to do anything about it.

Li Xiaoli, who had been silent up until now, piped up when she heard Chen Cang offer to have someone go out and buy food, her stomach indeed feeling a little hungry. "The dessert shop on the snack street next to the school has good stuff. I love their four-combination pastries. I had it once before; it’s delicious. Upon hearing this, Chen Cang immediately said with joy, "Don’t worry, I’ll have someone go buy it right now. You can eat as much as you want."

Liu Mengting was furious, her eyes glaring at Li Xiaoli as if she could eat her, meaning: I want to get rid of him, and you’re helping him find excuses to stay, you’re really something!

Chen Cang went over to Monkey and the others, instructed them to go shopping, and Monkey said discontentedly, "Brother Cang, why not just call them out to eat? The boys were planning on creating opportunities for you outside."

"What can I do if they don’t go out? Just hurry up, and I’ll call you if there’s anything."

"When you leave later, take everyone with you, and stay out a bit longer, understand?"

Monkey understood the hint, smiled knowingly, and then left with the others.

In an instant, Chen Cang was the only guest left in the villa, thick-faced enough to be set on sticking around.

Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli sat on the chairs chatting leisurely. They had no intention of bringing Chen Cang into the villa and simply waited on the lawn, hoping he would leave when he ran out of patience.

"Meng Ting, I’ve sent them out to buy stuff. Just tell me what you want to eat, and I’ll have them buy more," Chen Cang said, sitting next to Liu Mengting and asking with concern.

"It’s fine, just bring back anything, but make sure there’s plenty. Otherwise, there won’t be enough later," Liu Mengting said casually, thinking of Tang Ming’s appetite.

"Don’t worry, there’ll be as much as you want," Chen Cang said with a smile, finding that shamelessness was really important when chasing a girl. Now that he was being so brazen, the results were much better than before. That annoying country bumpkin didn’t dare to confront him, and Liu Meng could chat with him, feeling a little smug inside, as if he had finally found the right tactic.

Noticing Liu Mengting’s displeased face, Li Xiaoli knew it was her fault for giving Chen Cang the chance to linger and said to him irritably, "Chen Cang, are you annoying or what? I’m a patient and need to rest, so stop talking if it’s not necessary."

Chen Cang could only hold back, thinking as long as they didn’t kick him out, everything was fine.
