Chapter 66: Chapter 0066: Share a Portion When We Meet
Tang Ming got out of his car and walked straight to a trash bin, pulled a black wallet from his pocket, took out the cash and threw the rest into the trash bin, mumbling, "Whether it returns to Mr. Sun’s hands depends on his fate."
The wallet didn’t have much cash, just over three thousand yuan; the rest were bank cards which were useless to Tang Ming.
Without these, Sun Zhuangjia couldn’t move an inch in this city. He couldn’t even afford a cab. Tang Ming thought about the man’s upcoming embarrassment and laughed, finding it hilarious that a member of a distinguished family would dine and dash.
In the café, Liu Mengting called the waitress over to pay the bill; Li Xiaoli, sipping her drink, asked,
"Meng Meng, aren’t we waiting for Tang Ming?"
"Why wait for him? He’s off with a pretty lady, having the time of his life."
Liu Mengting said irritably.
"Meng Meng, did you notice that the guy in the suit seems to have been tricked by Tang Ming?"
As Li Xiaoli recalled the earlier incident, she suspected Tang Ming, "I suspect that guy’s wallet was lifted by Tang Ming."
"Ah, that guy is really too mean."
Liu Mengting remembered how the man in the suit had no choice but to flee and laughed, but she hadn’t expected Tang Ming to be the mastermind.
"Haha, if that man’s wallet really was stolen by him, I’ll make him confess everything tonight, share and share alike, we should all split the cash."
Liu Mengting thought of a way to deal with Tang Ming.
"Right on."
Li Xiaoli joined in the teasing, yet she expressed her admiration, "I never realized Tang Ming is not only subtly smart, but he’s also very capable. He would totally suffice as a bodyguard."
"Pfft, how capable can he be? He’s supposed to be my bodyguard, and now I don’t even know where he’s run off to. I think he’s just a big flirt that gets easily distracted by pretty girls and forgets why he’s even here."
Liu Mengting dismissively said.
The waitress came over with the bill; Liu Mengting took out money to pay, then walked out of the café with Li Xiaoli.
The moment they reached the entrance, they saw Tang Ming approaching, counting the money he had earned that night.
Liu Mengting said to Li Xiaoli, "Let’s take his money; whatever he earned during work hours, it’s all illicit gain."
"Sure thing."
Li Xiaoli walked up to Tang Ming with a smile, swiftly reached out, and grabbed several hundred-yuan red banknotes.
Tang Ming looked up in surprise, about to kick, but when he realized it was Li Xiaoli grabbing his money, he couldn’t help but ask, "What are you doing?"
"Meng Meng asked me to take my share."
Li Xiaoli counted briefly and found she had about five hundred yuan, enough for the evening’s expenses.
"Tang Ming, where did all this money come from?"
Liu Mengting asked with a smile, looking at Tang Ming.
Tang Ming stuffed the money in his pocket, defensively said, "Why do you care?"
"Haha, I’m telling you, you’re my bodyguard, don’t forget your real job."
After saying this, Liu Mengting ignored Tang Ming, directly called her driver to come pick them up.
After a while, the car arrived, and the three of them got in and headed straight back to the villa.
Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, tired, went straight to the third floor, while Tang Ming also returned to his room. He had made a good haul that night and was ready for a good sleep.
After taking a bath, Li Xiaoli, wrapped in a bath towel, looked at Liu Mengting who was already washed and lying on the bed, and said with a smile:
"Meng Meng sister, I snatched a total of five hundred from Tang Ming. Tonight, all the money we spent is coming back."
"Not bad, you did a good job."
Flipping through a magazine, Liu Mengting said, "Tang Ming, that kid, still needs to be managed in the future, otherwise he’ll be out of control."
"I think Tang Ming is pretty good, he knows how to play tricks on people and make money. Look at that suit guy, so arrogant, but he was completely fooled by Tang Ming, even fleeing from the restaurant without paying. So hilarious, haha."
Li Xiaoli spoke and burst into laughter.
"That was just to impress girls. Honestly, his pranks may look funny, but they actually harm people, ruining their chances with their girlfriends!"
Liu Mengting disdainfully said.
"But, your fiancé is coming soon, you could also let him pretend to be your boyfriend to fool others. I think he’s quite professional at it!"
Liu Xiaoli however said.
"Huh? That’s actually a good idea!"
Liu Mengting thought about it, Li Xiaoli’s suggestion wasn’t bad, and she wouldn’t even have to pay Tang Ming separately!
"Meng Meng sister, you agreed so quickly, do you have feelings for Tang Ming?"
Li Xiaoli said with a mischievous grin.
"Xiaoli, are you asking for a spanking?"
Liu Mengting said, reaching out towards Li Xiaoli’s chest.
"Ah ah ah, help, Tang Ming, protect me!"
Li Xiaoli screamed...
The next day after school, Tang Ming had dinner at the villa and then started to think about where to get some Poison.
There were hardly any rat poisons in the few streets outside the villa, let alone other potent poisons. Tang Ming used the iMac in the bedroom corner to go online, quickly finding a business street in Songlan City that had a concentration of pharmacies.
"This is the place."
Tang Ming pocketed the money he had earned the day before and then walked out of the villa. Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli were both upstairs on the computer; they were not going out and there was no danger.
Walking outside the villa area, Tang Ming hailed a taxi and headed directly to that medicinal herb street.
Half an hour later, the sky had already begun to dim, in at most ten to fifteen minutes night would fall, the entire street was brightly lit, and many nearby buildings emitted bursts of flashing neon lights, rendering the area colorful.
Although it was a street concentrated with herbal shops, there were fashion boutiques, snack shops, and department stores too. There were simply more shops selling medicinal herbs, and many wealthy people carrying bags of revitalizing medicines wandered around.
Tang Ming walked for about fifteen minutes, eyeing ten to twenty shops, and finally found a large, busy store to enter.
This store had a large façade, made up of five combined storefronts, and a spacious interior with an ancient decor, exuding a traditional Chinese atmosphere. Most impressively, there was no strong smell of herbal medicine inside, indicating excellent ventilation. Many herbal medicines were stored in glass jars, clearly labeled for easy identification by the customers.
There were many clerks, all explaining the characteristics and effects of medicinal herbs to the customers. Just when Tang Ming entered, only an elderly man in his sixties was free. The old man glanced at Tang Ming and then approached with a smile.
"Sir, may I know what you need?"
The old man asked.
"I’ll just look around."
When shopping, Tang Ming found it annoying to have salespeople chattering in his ear, so after his reply, he began to wander around the large store.
