Chapter 65: Chapter 0065: The Delivery Man

Tang Ming was called out of the cafe by Sun Zhuangjia and even shook hands with him. Could it be that with Sun Zhuangjia’s temperament, it was just a simple handshake without any intention of teaching Tang Ming a lesson?

This doesn’t match his personality at all.

"You shook hands with Sun Zhuangjia, is your hand okay?"

Su Xiaoxi looked down at Tang Ming’s hand and asked curiously.

"Of course, it’s fine. It’s just that the guy has quite a grip, and it hurt when he squeezed."

Tang Ming stretched out his palm to show it was alright.

Su Xiaoxi immediately exclaimed in surprise, "Tang Ming, what exactly do you do? Even Sun Zhuangjia couldn’t handle you."

"I’m just a student, what else could I do?"

Tang Ming said nonchalantly.

"I know you’re a student, you mentioned it earlier, but I’m asking if you’re a descendant of a Martial Arts Family?"

Su Xiaoxi asked tentatively.

"No."

Tang Ming shook his head and retorted, "Is Sun Zhuangjia one?"

"Of course, he is a descendant of the Songlan City Sun Family, and he is one of the best among the younger generation. He is skilled in the Vigorous Vajra Palm; I heard that he could easily kill a cow with one palm strike. He’s really powerful."

Su Xiaoxi expressed her curiosity and confusion, "You’re not a descendant of a Martial Arts Family, how could your palm be fine? Could it be that you’re a natural martial arts prodigy with divine power?"

"Have you been watching too many movies?"

Tang Ming quipped.

"Heh, that’s indeed unlikely."

Su Xiaoxi laughed self-deprecatingly.

"Let me remind you of something."

Tang Ming thought for a moment and then spoke.

"What?"

Su Xiaoxi asked.

"Turn off your phone and turn it back on in an hour."

Tang Ming recalled that Sun Zhuangjia was out of money and would definitely be looking for someone to help him out urgently. Su Xiaoxi would be the best target, allowing him to get closer to her while also preventing her from dating other men—a two birds with one stone situation.

In the cafe, a female server walked up to Sun Zhuangjia with the check, smiling, "Sir, the total comes to 12,400 yuan. Will you pay by card or with cash?"

"By card."

Sun Zhuangjia said while feeling for his wallet.

But his expression quickly changed. Where was his wallet?

The female server put the check down and patiently waited. Sun Zhuangjia had turned everything inside out except for his underwear.

"Sir, if you’ve lost your wallet, you might want to check your phone and call a friend."

The female server suggested.

"Right."

Sun Zhuangjia picked up his phone and began searching through his contacts. In Songlan City, he was somewhat related to the Su Family, and since he was pursuing Su Xiaoxi, she was naturally his first choice. At this point, he had no option but to swallow his pride.

After dialing the number, the voice message from the other end said, "The phone you dialed is switched off. Please try again later."

"Damn it."

Sun Zhuangjia cursed and continued to search for someone to help, but he found no one. With his wallet lost, he had no access to his cards either, leaving him unable to settle the bill.

"How about I leave my phone as collateral? I’ll bring the money and pick it up tomorrow."

Sun Zhuangjia suggested to the female server, as many in the cafe turned to look at him with disdainful eyes.

Sun Zhuangjia, being a member of the prominent Sun Family from the province, was unaccustomed to such contempt and felt overwhelmed with shame at that moment.

"Sir, I can’t make that decision. I’ll go ask the manager."

The female server walked toward the bar, and shortly afterwards, the manager opted to call the police.

Sun Zhuangjia had amazing hearing, and the thought of calling the police made him lose all face, likely turning him into a laughingstock in Songlan City. He suddenly made up his mind and dashed out of the store so quickly that he vanished in the blink of an eye.

Although Tang Ming and Su Xiaoxi had parked on the next street over, they saw a man who ran past them like the wind, followed by the continuous shouting of a store clerk.

"Pretending to be rich when you’re broke, thinking you can just run away without paying."

Soon, a car drove out from beside the café, clearly chasing after the route Sun Zhuangjia had taken.

Tang Ming was overjoyed, while Su Xiaoxi hadn’t realized the man was Sun Zhuangjia and wondered what was amusing Tang Ming so much.

"What’s so funny?"

Su Xiaoxi asked, slightly annoyed.

"I’m not telling you unless you consider giving me more commission, then I might share the joy with you."

Tang Ming said with a grin, finding it more and more amusing.

"Is it worth it?"

Su Xiaoxi, not particularly concerned about the money, had always been sensible from a young age. Although her family was wealthy, she only spent money when necessary and never wasted it.

"Definitely worth it. I guarantee you’d wake up laughing in your sleep."

Tang Ming said confidently, patting his chest.

"Okay, I’ll give you an extra thousand. If it’s not worth it, I won’t pay."

Su Xiaoxi, still a bit curious and seeing Tang Ming laugh so genuinely, eagerly wanted to know more.

"Don’t worry, it’s worth it."

Tang Ming whispered into Su Xiaoxi’s ear.

A moment later, Su Xiaoxi stared at Tang Ming in silence and asked, "Did you really take Sun Zhuangjia’s wallet?"

"Would I lie to you?"

Tang Ming pulled out the wallet from his pocket and gestured with it.

Su Xiaoxi burst out laughing, "That’s hilarious, Sun Zhuangjia really messed up this time."

"Exactly, but now that he’s gone, aren’t you considering giving me the money?"

Tang Ming brought the conversation back to business.

"Fine, I’ll give you the money."

Su Xiaoxi counted out the cash from her wallet and handed it directly to Tang Ming, then said, "There’s your money, we’re even after this."

"Of course."

Tang Ming counted the money, then got out of the car, ignoring Su Xiaoxi completely.

This was absolutely humiliating for a beautiful woman; she rolled down the window and shouted angrily at Tang Ming, "Don’t you even want my phone number?"

"Why would I want your phone number?"

On hearing this, Tang Ming said, "That’s strange."

"Hmph."

Su Xiaoxi slammed the steering wheel, furious. Even if considered a beauty with strong appeal, Tang Ming felt no attraction during their brief interaction. Was it her lack of charm, or was something wrong with him?

Su Xiaoxi preferred to believe the latter.

"How about you give me your phone number instead?"

Su Xiaoxi said, slightly annoyed.

Tang Ming thought that if there were another opportunity to pretend to be her boyfriend, he could make some money again, especially since he was financially struggling and needed the extra work.

"Alright."

Tang Ming generously repeated his phone number to Su Xiaoxi, who quickly noted it in her iPhone and saved it.

"Next time you need help, the price has to go up. You said that Sun Zhuangjia is so formidable, if he finds out I was behind this, he might come after me. I have to charge extra."

Tang Ming said, pretending to be serious.

"Yeah, I know you’re greedy."

Su Xiaoxi steered away, driving along the route Sun Zhuangjia had taken. She was off to enjoy the spectacle, then have a good dream that night, waking up laughing from just how hilarious it was.
