Chapter 227: Chapter 0227: The New Transfer Student

Zhou Pangzi checked his watch as class was almost starting, and he got serious.

"Boss, you scared me to death, I thought you dropped out and weren’t coming to class anymore."

Zhou Pangzi wiped his sweat: "As long as you’re here, no one dares to bully me in this school!"

"Man, I thought you actually missed me, but it turns out you’re just afraid of getting beaten up."

Tang Ming slapped Pangzi on the head.

"Hehe, actually, I missed you the most, Brother Ming!"

Pangzi said with a silly laugh, rubbing his head.

Tang Ming didn’t care about those things and explained, "I just took a few days off and went out to have some fun."

"Oh, so it was that after all."

Pangzi said, "But Brother Ming, when you were away, a new student came to our school, acting all high and mighty. Since you’re the boss here, it seems you’ll have to teach that arrogant guy a lesson sometime."

But Tang Ming was stunned and said speechlessly, "Are you kidding me, are you that bored or have you seen too many gangster movies? What do his antics have to do with me?"

"Brother Ming, you don’t know how arrogant that guy is, and..."

Pangzi hesitated.

Tang Ming immediately asked, "And what? Go on."

"And that guy, as soon as he entered our school, went straight for Xia Wei’er and arrogantly declared that Xia Wei’er was his, and no one else could have her."

Pangzi said indignantly, "Can you believe that? How could I swallow such an insult?"

"Oh? So it’s about Xia Wei’er!"

Tang Ming looked at Pangzi with a half-smile, "You lad, using your boss to cover for your own fight for Xia Wei’er. You really have some nerve. I’m not going to bother with that kid for no reason; if you’re so capable, go yourself."

"Brother Ming, it’s about Xia Wei’er, aren’t you going to help her?"

Pangzi reminded loudly on purpose.

"With someone that cocky watching over her, I don’t have to worry about Chen Cang bothering her anymore, am I not at ease?"

Tang Ming laughed, seeming very relaxed.

"Really, Brother Ming, how can you be so careless?"

Pangzi got a bit upset: "Isn’t Xia Wei’er your girlfriend? That means she is my sister-in-law. She’s being harassed by that guy now, how can you be so indifferent?"

"Pfft."

Tang Ming almost spat out his breakfast, and asked Pangzi, "Who told you that Xia Wei’er is my girlfriend? You really don’t shy away from stirring up trouble."

Having two princess-like beauties at home was enough to annoy Tang Ming, let alone adding Xia Wei’er, a walking disaster. He couldn’t imagine how he could live peacefully.

Pangzi scratched his head, somewhat confused, Isn’t Xia Wei’er Brother Ming’s girlfriend?

After thinking for a long time and not recalling whether Tang Ming had ever admitted to it, he said carelessly, "Brother Ming, anyway, it’s nearly the same between you two. Now that Xia Wei’er is entangled by someone even more annoying than Chen Cang, are you really planning to just stand by? If people find out, it would be embarrassing for you."

"Is that so."

Tang Ming stroked his chin in thought. The pretty image of Xia Wei’er involuntarily appeared in his mind. This girl seemed much stronger than Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, not longing for vanity or luxury, and even when her family faced such a big ordeal, she was very strong, carrying the family burdens all by herself. Right now, having such qualities in a girl was indeed rare.

Not being vain might be achievable for many girls, but to be as strong as Xia Wei’er and always filled with optimism about life is indeed a rare trait.

Tang Ming wasn’t oblivious to matters between men and women, and he vaguely understood some things, but he wasn’t yet interested in pursuing these thoughts. Undeniably, Xia Wei’er was an outstanding girl, but he was already bound by an engagement to Liu Mengting, effectively making him a married man, and of course, he couldn’t pursue another girl under these circumstances.

However, such a wonderful girl should not be subjected to bullying by those reckless admirers, or she might find herself in an even more challenging situation.

After all, these sons of prestigious families, relying on their family connections, oftentimes act recklessly, capable of all sorts of wrongdoing. Chen Cang was one example—if his opponent weren’t Tang Ming, anyone else would have been devastatingly manipulated by him. Sometimes, human lives meant nothing to these fellows.

While talking, they had reached the classroom. Li Xiaoli was chattering away with a few girls in the front row, while Liu Mengting was more subdued, reviewing vocabulary with her textbook.

Tang Ming and Fatty made their way to the back row seats. Tang Ming casually asked Fatty, "Check out what background that guy has."

"I’m checking, but my abilities are limited, I can only scratch the surface. But the one who should be most worried is Xia Wei’er, that guy has called a few lackeys, they follow Xia Wei’er around after class every day, I feel troubled seeing that, not to mention she seems quite distressed about it." Fatty muttered.

Upon hearing this, Tang Ming felt somewhat upset. This was utterly shameless, not to mention Xia Wei’er was just an ordinary girl. Such actions would make both teachers and students look at Xia Wei’er differently, as if she were a bad student, and it was unimaginable what other despicable means that guy had used.

"Xia Wei’er didn’t tell the teachers?"

Tang Ming asked.

"She did, but it was no use. That guy has a strong backing; even the principal tries to cozy up to him. Who would dare touch him?"

Fatty’s lips twitched as he said discontentedly, "Ming bro, how about going to teach that kid a lesson after class, keep him from acting so wild?"

"Hehe, we’ll see about that. It’s early in the morning, and I’m still not awake yet. I’ll take a quick nap first."

Tang Ming yawned and was ready to take a nap.

Seeing this, Fatty quickly became anxious, "Ming bro, what’s the plan here? The sooner we act, the sooner Xia Wei’er can be relieved."

"Relax, for now, Xia Wei’er will be fine, just a bit annoyed during class at most," said Tang Ming while resting his head on the desk.

"Oh, I’m just worried Xia Wei’er won’t be able to withstand it and will end up in that guy’s hands."

Fatty murmured.

"That’s impossible. Xia Wei’er would never like such a spoiled rich kid," Tang Ming said, then went straight to sleep.

After listening, Fatty’s eyes twinkled and he said with a smile, "That’s right, Xia Wei’er has already set her heart on Ming bro, how could she possibly like that jerk?"

Tang Ming slept straight through to noon when school ended, until Fatty woke him up.

"Is the morning self-study over?"

Tang Ming, squinting, looked around and noticed people starting to head out of the classroom.

Fatty responded helplessly, "Ming bro, it’s already lunchtime."

"Oh, no wonder I’m starting to feel hungry."

Tang Ming rubbed his stomach.

Upon hearing this, Fatty trembled a bit inside. This Ming bro was almost blacklisted by the cafeteria as a glutton, showing just how much he could eat.
