My Co-renting Lady Boss -
Chapter 151 - 015: Sudden Car Accident
Chapter 151: Chapter 015: Sudden Car Accident
"All right, I’ll have someone take care of it right away."
Seeing Chen Cang’s determination, the Monkey simply slapped his chest and declared.
In the Xia Family’s cold drinks shop, the family had already bathed and were preparing for bed when Wei’er’s mom suddenly received a call from a regular customer.
"Is that Miss Bai? What’s the matter so late at night?"
Wei’er’s mom saw the caller ID and hurriedly answered with a smile, asking.
"Boss, tomorrow morning at nine, could you deliver some milk tea and cold drinks to my company? Also, some weight loss popsicles – a lot of my colleagues want to try them. They’ll need two each, which makes it fifty in total!"
Miss Bai thought for a while and said.
"Milk tea and cold drinks are no problem, but we sold out of the weight loss popsicles tonight, and we have no stock left."
Wei’er’s mom said, somewhat embarrassed.
"Ah, but my colleagues mostly want to try the weight loss popsicles. Can’t you make some now and freeze them for tomorrow?"
Miss Bai suggested.
"Is that so..."
Wei’er’s mom, thinking of the regular customers and the potential for frequent orders from their company, which could lead to a significant business opportunity, decided to agree, saying, "Alright, I’ll make some tonight."
"Great, remember to deliver them to our company by nine tomorrow morning,"
Miss Bai said with a smile.
"Of course."
Wei’er’s mom hung up the phone, then turned to her daughter, who had already lain down, and spoke, "Wei’er, hurry up and call Tang Ming."
"Mom, it’s so late, why would I call now?"
Xia Wei’er had just fallen asleep and was woken by her mother. She asked groggily.
"A customer just placed an order for weight loss popsicles and they need them tomorrow morning. I can’t afford to offend them, we need to maintain good relationships with these office workers. If they all start ordering milk tea and cold drinks from us, it will be a big deal."
With resignation, Wei’er’s mom said, "Wei’er, please call Tang Ming and ask if he can come over early tomorrow to help, okay?"
"Even if I wanted to help you call, I don’t have Tang Ming’s phone number!"
Xia Wei’er said with a wry smile, thinking to herself that it was way too late to make a phone call!
Wei’er’s mom, however, pulled out a phone book from the drawer beside her, flipped it open, and said, "I have it here, hurry up and call."
"Mom, how come you have Tang Ming’s phone number?"
Xia Wei’er asked in surprise.
"The fat guy gave it to me. I wanted to thank Tang Ming, so I got his mobile number."
Wei’er’s mom urged, "Hurry up and make the call."
Xia Wei’er was exasperated by her mother’s unpredictable actions.
Biting the bullet, Xia Wei’er made a call to Tang Ming. Once connected, she asked softly, "Tang Ming, are you asleep?"
"Not yet. Are you Xia Wei’er?"
Tang Ming couldn’t figure out how Xia Wei’er had his phone number, but he didn’t ask further, just a bit puzzled why she would call him so late at night.
"Yeah, Tang Ming, our shop did really well today, and we sold out all the diet popsicles. My mom was wondering if you could come over early tomorrow morning and help us make a batch? Because some customers specifically asked for them, and my mom felt bad about refusing, so..."
Xia Wei’er said, feeling a bit embarrassed towards the end.
After some thought, Tang Ming felt that waking up a bit earlier wouldn’t be too much of a hassle, "Alright, I’ll come over earlier tomorrow and make you a batch."
"Tang Ming, I really appreciate it."
Xia Wei’er was very grateful to see Tang Ming agree so readily.
"No problem, I’m going to sleep now. I’ll be over early tomorrow."
Tang Ming hung up the phone and then buried himself to sleep.
Xia Wei’er felt a bit disappointed. She had finally taken the initiative to call Tang Ming, hoping he might find an excuse to chat with her a bit longer, but instead, he had been the one to end the call quickly. Did he really have no interest in her?
Xia Wei’er began to agonize over this thought and wasn’t sure if she would be able to sleep that night.
Early the next morning, Tang Ming got up. It was just past six ten, and Tianjiao High School usually started around eight thirty. Going to the Xia Family’s shop early for an hour and then heading to school seemed doable without being late.
After getting up, Tang Ming quickly washed up and headed out. He left a message with the butler, Uncle Quan, and then took the bus straight to the snack street.
The reason Tang Ming dared to leave alone in the morning was firstly that accidents involving Liu Mengting were very unlikely to happen in the morning; they never had before. Secondly, the female assassin had just been in a car accident and would likely need a few days to recuperate before being able to act again. Thirdly, it was tricky for anyone to predict the driver’s route from the Liu Family’s residence to Tianjiao High School in the morning, because there were three different roads to take, and the driver would choose the easiest based on traffic conditions.
Therefore, going to school in the morning was relatively safe, and it was on the basis of these considerations that Tang Ming dared to leave Liu Mengting and go to the snack street to help Xia Wei’er and her mother.
By seven thirty in the morning, the driver was taking Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli to school. The trip usually took about twenty minutes, and the driver, being very experienced, chose the easiest route to Tianjiao High School for the day.
However, this time at the gate of the villa area, a black Sentra was closely following the nanny car, keeping their every move in sight.
As the driver bypassed the overpass and took a less pedestrian-filled road in the morning, a large truck suddenly stopped in front, completely blocking the way.
The driver slammed on the brakes and then honked furiously at the truck ahead. A middle-aged man in the guise of a truck driver jumped down, incessantly nodding to indicate the truck was broken, then ran to the front to check.
The nanny car had no choice but to wait. Unexpectedly, a car crashed into the back of the nanny car with a loud "Bang!"
The driver was stunned. Had they been rear-ended? He quickly got out to check the situation.
"You son of a bitch, how do you drive? Stopping the car in the middle of the road like that, parking all haphazard, look at the mess my car’s in now, you’re going to compensate me!"
Out of the car behind, a burly man jumped and started cursing at the nanny car’s driver.
"What?"
The driver was taken aback. The person who had rear-ended him was arguing back? Just as he was about to argue, he felt a sharp pain in the back of his head and collapsed to the ground.
Meanwhile, several masked men quietly pretended to be drivers and began arguing with each other.
"You hit me, and now you want me to pay you?"
"That’s right, bad parking must be compensated."
Inside the car, Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli, one was browsing social media on her phone and the other was listening to music with headphones. Minor scrapes on the road were common and had happened before, so they didn’t pay much attention.
However, they suddenly heard a noisy commotion outside, as if a fight had broken out. Both of them were startled and quickly looked up, eager to see what was happening.
