My Co-renting Lady Boss
Chapter 143 - 0143: Kicked and Sent Flying

Chapter 143: Chapter 0143: Kicked and Sent Flying

After waiting for over fifteen minutes, Shen Yan finally spotted the target—just as the description had conveyed, merely a frail big boy. Such a person, she could extinguish his life within one second.

Even Shen Yan felt that this job was as easy as picking up money off the ground!

With a mask on her face, she slowly approached Tang Ming, and as they passed by each other, Shen Yan’s eyes suddenly turned fierce. With a small hand, she whipped out a slender silver needle held between two fingers, aiming swiftly for a deadly acupuncture point on Tang Ming’s neck.

A gentle prick was all it would take for Tang Ming to drop dead on the spot. Shen Yan had practiced this countless times and had ended many lives with this trick, but this time, something completely unexpected happened...

Tang Ming reacted incredibly fast, twisting his body to dodge the silver needle’s attack. At the same time, he reached out to grab Shen Yan with one hand.

Caught off guard and surprised, Shen Yan instinctively turned to dodge Tang Ming’s clawing grasp, but she did not expect his next move. Tang Ming swiftly kicked out, striking Shen Yan right on her buttocks and sending her flying away.

The enormous force left Shen Yan unable to resist. She landed face down, skidding on the ground in a ’dog eating dirt’ pose. Had it not been for her hands quickly cushioning the fall, her face may have been completely disfigured against the cement surface.

As an assassin for so long, this was the first time she’d suffered such a defeat. By the time Shen Yan scrambled up from the ground, Tang Ming was already seated inside the nanny car, looking at her with a pair of cold, indifferent eyes, as if mocking her saying, "You’re not qualified."

"Tang Ming, what happened over there?"

Liu Mengting in the car also witnessed the previous scene and quickly asked, with Li Xiaoli beside her looking equally anxious.

"Let’s head back and then talk."

Having experienced an ambush before, Tang Ming did not linger in the fight this time. Instead, he prioritized protecting Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli.

Believing the female assassin’s attack was from someone aiming to abduct Liu Mengting, Tang Ming instinctively ensured the safety of both Liu Mengting and Li Xiaoli first.

The driver, extremely experienced himself, sensed the severity of the situation and quickly drove off.

By the time Shen Yan gave chase, Tang Ming and the others were already driving away.

"I almost got disfigured. I must avenge this insult."

Shen Yan had never suffered such a huge loss before. Now, rage swelled within her to the extreme.

Seeing no one had noticed the incident, she quickly left the entrance of Tianjiao High School, planning to thoroughly research her next steps to find the best way to deal with Tang Ming.

"Hmph, they said it was just a high school student. That information was totally inaccurate. He’s clearly a Martial Artist, and they didn’t even realize it."

Shen Yan sat at her computer desk in her bedroom. She had already taken a shower, and with her hair still damp, she hadn’t bothered to dry it. Instead, she was looking at all the information about Tang Ming on her computer.

Moments later, Shen Yan took a sip of her coffee and muttered to herself, "A Martial Artist should at least get a million in compensation. This is only three hundred thousand. It seems that the organization has completely underestimated Tang Ming’s true abilities. But it doesn’t matter. Money can be earned again, but such an interesting opponent—I must thoroughly enjoy it."

As a top assassin in the Poison Widow Killer Group, Shen Yan had always been unique. She didn’t spend the money she earned from killings excessively, nor did she have the characteristic killer thrill of taking lives for pleasure. Instead, she savored the profession of being an assassin, and when she came across an interesting opponent, she would be particularly focused. Thus, she had never failed in a mission over the years.

Although this task was the simplest sort that even a novice assassin could complete, the organization, in order to cater to the more formidable killers, would often assign these easier tasks to them. It served a threefold purpose: letting them earn money, keeping them in shape, and since formidable assassins didn’t have many assignments, an organization with long-term vision understood the need for efficient personnel allocation and steady development.

The car drove back to the villa, where Tang Ming, Liu Mengting, and Li Xiaoli sat on the sofa in the living room.

"Another assassin?"

Liu Mengting settled into her seat, visibly tense, and asked,

"Hmm."

Tang Ming said with an indifferent smile, "I’ve already driven them away. You can relax. That assassin wasn’t very strong."

"Oh, that’s good."

Upon hearing Tang Ming’s words, Liu Mengting also breathed a sigh of relief.

Li Xiaoli on the side

Seeing that everyone’s mood was down, clapped her hands and said, "Brother Tang Ming, Sister Meng Meng, let’s not worry about the assassin, okay? It’s not like we have to stop being happy and eating just because an assassin comes, right?"

"Right, Xiaoli, you’re correct. I won’t think about it anymore."

Liu Mengting nodded and smiled, feeling much more relaxed.

"Now that the assassin has come, should we call the police?"

Li Xiaoli asked again.

Liu Mengting did not speak, only looking at Tang Ming, as he was the bodyguard and thus everything was up to him to decide.

"Call the police?"

Tang Ming suddenly remembered that troublesome policewoman and shook his head, "Let’s not. It would be even more troublesome if we encountered Lin Xue again."

"Hehe, is Brother Tang Ming really afraid of that policewoman?"

Li Xiaoli said with a laugh.

Tang Ming didn’t answer, his thoughts immersed in reflection. Now that an assassin had appeared, it was better to stay close to Liu Mengting in the near future and to visit the snack street less often. After all, his role was that of a bodyguard, and he couldn’t forget his primary duty!

As for the matter of the diet popsicles, he had a plan. He would find some time during safe school hours to help the Xia Family prepare more stock. Now, with less competition from the cold drink shops, Xia Wei’er’s family business should be doing much better, and other products were selling well too. It was fine just to supply the diet popsicles in limited quantities.

At midnight, Shen Yan, who was preparing to sleep, suddenly received an email. After reading it, she couldn’t help but sneer, "They want to meet me? Some people really aren’t afraid of dying. But since the organization has asked me to explain to the patron, it is indeed a bit bothersome."

A few minutes later, Shen Yan, now in disguise, left the room and drove towards the designated location.

At the end of Nan Hua Street, all the nearby streetlights were broken, enveloping the area in darkness.

This area had already been designated for demolition. The residents had moved away, and only the construction crew occasionally worked here. But now it was nighttime, and there was no one from the construction crew around. This place, already deserted and desolate, now seemed even more sinister and terrifying.

In the distance, two beams of light shone over, accompanied by the rumbling sound of a car. Soon a sedan stopped at the end of the street, its headlights turned off, plunging the inside of the car into darkness. But quickly, the flicker of a lighter igniting a cigarette could be seen.

There were two men inside the car, one was Boss Lei, and the other was Ma Gan. They lighted up their cigarettes and began to puff away. After a while, Ma Gan said hesitantly, "Boss, backing out of this mission won’t be easy. Poison Widow is not someone you want to mess with."
