My Co-renting Lady Boss -
Chapter 142 - 0142 Poison Widow Killer Group
Chapter 142: Chapter 0142 Poison Widow Killer Group
He snatched the money, and Tang Ming walked out of the cold drinks hall with the plump man.
A moment later, a beast-like roar of anger erupted from inside the cold drinks hall.
"Bastard, I must kill you."
Lei, the boss, kicked over the cash register furiously cursing.
A short while later, after the hall manager Ma Gan had sent the cooks away, he closed the door and said, "Boss, what on earth is this guy made of? He can eat anything, and even poison doesn’t kill him. Is he even human?"
"I don’t care if he’s human or not, I must have his life!"
Lei, the boss, said grimly.
"Boss, I think we should investigate clearly first."
Ma Gan urged, "This person is indeed weird! I remember now, he even ate the laxatives without any effect!"
"Damn! That’s exactly it! No way, he has to die for a million."
Lei, the boss, took out his cellphone and dialed a number, then said, "Yes, I need to hire you to kill someone..."
An hour later, Tang Ming and the plump man left the snack street. They had stopped by Xia Wei’er’s family store for a while, helped out, and ate some sweet soup made by Wei’er’s mom.
At the bus stop, the plump man hailed a taxi home while Tang Ming, thinking about usually taking the bus and despite accidentally earning two thousand this time, decided to save some money and not take a taxi. So, he waited for a bus instead.
But within the few minutes of waiting, he suddenly felt something was off. Several menacing-looking men approached, their clothes bulging as if they were concealing weapons.
"Kill him."
Suddenly, the lead man with a grim expression pulled a long blade from his clothes and shouted. The other three men also simultaneously pulled out knives, and from all directions charged toward Tang Ming, clearly intending to chop him into pieces.
However, Tang Ming just smiled nonchalantly and said, "Just you four weaklings?"
As soon as he finished speaking, his movements were swift. He grabbed, pushed, punched, and kicked, quickly striking in the circle, knocking all four men to the ground, blood spewing from their mouths.
"Enough, if this were somewhere else, you four would be dead already."
Tang Ming dusted off his hands, and just then the bus arrived. He got on as if nothing happened and dropped coins into the fare collector.
The bus driver, noticing there might have been a fight below, hurriedly closed the door and sped off. The driver, a gossip-loving man, asked Tang Ming, "Young man, was there someone slashing at someone just now?"
"Yeah, a bunch of people chopping at each other, the winners all ran off."
Tang Ming casually responded.
The driver was excited and began incessantly asking Tang Ming for details. Of course, Tang Ming said he didn’t see much, which only gave the gossiping driver more room to theorize, continually muttering to himself, interpreting the situation. According to his imagination, it must have been a chaotic brawl involving a dozen hooligans, leaving four severely injured unlucky ones behind.
Inside the cold drinks hall, Lei, the boss, waited a long time before he got a call. After listening, he cursed, ""Damn it, you can’t even handle a high school student and still have the nerve to ask me for money, fuck off."
Infuriated, Lei hung up the phone but, after hesitating for some time, he called again:
"Fine, I’ll transfer the money to you in three days, let’s consider this matter finished. I won’t be hiring you guys anymore; useless."
He was worried that these people, not getting the money, might turn around and vandalize his business, and nothing was more troubling in business than dealing with hooligans.
After venting his anger, Lei then glanced at Ma Gan, who was sitting across from him. This guy often mingled in the underworld and knew many people. Lei decided to hear his opinion.
"Ma Gan, the guys I hired couldn’t handle Tang Ming. Do you have any better ideas?"
Mr. Lei asked.
"Boss, since you’ve decided you must kill Tang Ming, sending ordinary thugs won’t be enough."
Ma Gan shook his head as he spoke.
"Oh? Then who do you suggest we send?"
Mr. Lei immediately became interested upon hearing this.
"I wonder if you’ve heard of the Poison Widow?"
Ma Gan asked mysteriously.
"Poison Widow?"
Mr. Lei’s expression changed; the Poison Widow had quite a reputation. In the underworld of Songlan City, many famed bosses had been killed by people from the Poison Widow Killer Group. This organization specialized in murder for hire, acknowledging no kin.
"Yes, that famous Poison Widow from the street talks. If you’re willing to spend the money, I think letting someone from the Poison Widow handle it would be much safer."
Ma Gan suggested.
"Agreed."
Mr. Lei was at his wit’s end by now and could only resort to hiring the most lethal professional assassin to kill Tang Ming.
Seeing that Mr. Lei agreed, Ma Gan immediately took out his phone, dialed a number, and after a brief conversation, he said to Mr. Lei, "Boss, they want five hundred thousand."
"Five hundred thousand?"
The group Mr. Lei had previously contacted had only asked for fifty thousand, and now it had escalated tenfold. The Poison Widow really did not ask for small amounts, but then he thought, as long as Tang Ming is dead and he can get Chen Cang’s one million, spending five hundred thousand and still having another five hundred thousand was not a loss.
"Boss, it’s said that the people from Poison Widow quoted five hundred thousand because the target is a student. They usually charge very high rates. If it’s to assassinate some big gangster, they’d demand at least one to two million."
Ma Gan said, holding his phone.
Mr. Lei clenched his teeth and nodded, "Fine, give them five hundred thousand."
Shen Yan had two identities. In one identity, she was a white-collar worker in a foreign company, earning a salary of five to six thousand a month, working the regular weekdays and resting on weekends. Her life was typical of city white-collar workers: eating, watching movies, going to bars, socializing with friends, and then going home to rest. After a night’s sleep, she would go to the office full of energy.
At the office, she joked with colleagues and occasionally had to deal with subtle hints of sexual harassment from her superiors; she had to navigate her way without offending anyone, often resorting to giving gifts to avert trouble.
But when on a mission, she completely transformed into another person: a female assassin in the Assassin World known as "Blood Swallow."
Shen Yan returned home, opened her secret mailbox, and when she found an unread email, she couldn’t help but smile.
She slowly clicked on the email, read through it, then picked up her coffee cup with her pale hands and said disdainfully, "A boy of eighteen or nineteen is worth the trouble of calling in the Poison Widow. It seems these rich people really are bored."
"But no matter, as long as there’s money to be made, it’s fine."
Shen Yan quickly deleted the email and then shut down her computer.
The next afternoon, she took the opportunity to leave the office, changed her clothes, and drove to the entrance of Tianjiao High School to wait.
When the school bell rang at Tianjiao High School, Shen Yan took a thin Silver Needle from her pocket, tucked it into her glove, and then got out of the car.
Students were streaming out of the school gate. Shen Yan quickly searched through the crowd for her target; she knew Tang Ming’s features by heart.
