Chapter 139: Chapter 0139: Unexpected Fall

"Also, there can’t be any bacteria inside the house; it has to be clean and tidy. That way we avoid problems more easily. If there are too many bacteria, it might lead to other diseases, so we’ve been very careful over the years. Every time we come home, we clean first, and we frequently have to filter the air with a purifier."

Chen Shuang’er continued.

Tang Ming frowned as he listened. This disease really was troublesome. He couldn’t find a solution right away, and such a complicated illness couldn’t be resolved with just ordinary methods; it definitely required some special medication.

"I haven’t seen this disease before, but I’ve made a note of it in my mind. I’ll study it thoroughly when I get back. If there’s a way, I’ll let you know."

Tang Ming slowly said.

Chen Shuang’er and Fei’er both felt a bit disappointed, but they were also used to this kind of letdown and soon felt fine.

"Thank you for your trouble."

Chen Shuang’er gratefully said.

Tang Ming, however, didn’t mind, "It’s nothing; I haven’t really helped much."

The four of them chatted for a while longer, and Xia Wei’er, seeing it was getting late, stood up and bid farewell to the two sisters, Chen Shuang’er.

"Wei’er, why don’t you stay and play a bit longer? We can have dinner together later."

Chen Shuang’er urged.

"No, I should go check if I can find some useful books and clothes near my house. Taking them back with me will save some money, so I don’t have to buy everything new."

Xia Wei’er declined.

Chen Shuang’er had to give up, but as she watched Tang Ming walk away, her eyes darting around, she seemed to be thinking about something...

Xia Wei’er and Tang Ming left Chen Shuang’er’s house together, and as they walked, Xia Wei’er retold the story of how Shuang’er had always taken care of her younger sister, Fei’er. This deepened Tang Ming’s understanding of this ’female thief.’

It seemed he had misjudged her. Now, it seemed stealing only from the bad people was quite similar to Tang Ming, who also liked to challenge the bad guys.

Unconsciously, they arrived near the ruins of the Xia Family’s house. As soon as Xia Wei’er saw the ruins of her home, her eyes darkened, and she quickly walked over, squatting down to rummage through the rubble.

The area was full of bricks and stones, along with broken remnants, looking quite menacing. One incorrect move, and the towering walls could collapse, injuring someone. But since it was on the demolition company’s property, no one dared to come here to scavenge or knock over the remains.

Xia Wei’er found some books trapped under a section of the wall and quickly found a stick to try to lever the bricks apart to retrieve the books. Tang Ming was helping her in other areas and hadn’t found anything yet. Just as he was checking the rubble under his feet for anything usable, suddenly, there was a "crack."

Tang Ming was startled and immediately looked up, only to see that the section near Xia Wei’er, a one-meter-high broken wall, was teetering and about to collapse!

It turned out that Xia Wei’er had broken half of the support chair under the wall while using the stick to move the bricks, losing its support point, and now the broken wall began to totter.

"Be careful!"

Tang Ming cried out in alarm. Seeing that all of Xia Wei’er’s attention was on the books under the rubble, completely oblivious to the imminent collapse of the wall beside her, he quickly ran over, grabbed her shoulders, and without time to turn around, thrust his legs and the two were thrown backward, with Tang Ming lying on the ground and Xia Wei’er on top of him!

Boom!

A loud crash sounded, and at the same time, the crumbling wall completely collapsed, kicking up a cloud of dust, the tremendous force causing the ground to tremble slightly.

Xia Wei’er’s face turned slightly green with fright. She instinctively looked back, recalling the scene just now. Had she been slower by just a moment, she would have already been crushed under that broken wall, turned into mincemeat.

She realized her body didn’t hurt at all, feeling as though she was lying on a cushiony pad. Looking down, she saw she was indeed on top of Tang Ming, his face just a fist’s distance from hers, close enough to smell his breath and masculine scent.

With a "swoosh," Xia Wei’er’s face turned beet red. She was lying on top of Tang Ming, her chest pressing against his, while Tang Ming’s hands were wrapped around her waist. Their positions were extremely intimate, almost as if they were in the midst of something.

"Are you alright?"

Tang Ming glanced at the fallen debris and asked with concern.

"I’m fine..."

Xia Wei’er shook her head, her face still red.

"Oh, you were really reckless just now, not noticing that piece of wall next to you. If it had hit you, that could have been the end."

As Tang Ming spoke, he moved his body, trying to get up, and Xia Wei’er had the same idea, trying to push herself up from Tang Ming.

If one of them had moved first, it would have been manageable, but moving together they instantly lost their balance. Xia Wei’er, unable to support herself, fell forwards, as Tang Ming quickly stretched out his hands to support her shoulders. But since he had just bent his back, and there was no support underneath him, combined with the weight of Xia Wei’er falling, it pushed them both back to the ground again.

By now, Xia Wei’er’s face was pressed tightly against Tang Ming’s, and their four lips fit together seamlessly.

Tang Ming was instantly stunned. This...

"Ah!"

With a sudden shriek, Xia Wei’er’s hands pressed against Tang Ming’s chest, and she jumped up like a startled rabbit, her little face as red as a small apple.

She could clearly feel that their lips had met, even feeling the warmth of his lips.

In such an intimate moment, Xia Wei’er’s heart began to thump wildly, feeling embarrassed and agitated, like the taste of something both sour and sweet. Initially, it was uncomfortable eating something sour, but afterwards, it felt sweet and left lingering memories.

"I... won’t look for the book anymore... let’s just go back."

Xia Wei’er’s mind was a mess, she said instinctively.

"Oh."

Having taken advantage, Tang Ming naturally didn’t dare to say much, lest he be considered a lecher, although... the feeling just then was quite nice, but in the heat of the moment, he hadn’t figured out how he truly felt...

Walking one after another, they left the shanty area and returned to the snack street. When they reached the entrance of the cold drink shop, Xia Wei’er, as if seeing a savior, turned her head and quietly said to Tang Ming, "Today... thank you."

As soon as she finished speaking, she entered the shop, embarrassed, and refused to show her face again.

Thinking back on the scene, a smile spread across Tang Ming’s face, suddenly finding Xia Wei’er rather charming, smacking his lips and musing, "Was that her first kiss just now?"
