Chapter 490: Being scolded_1

As Qin Muchuan dug into a piece of beef, a smile lingered on his lips.

He couldn’t take it anymore.

"Ahem..." He cleared his throat softly and used his napkin to wipe the corner of his mouth, swallowing the piece of beef. "Grandma, you don’t need to nourish me this much!"

Grandma Qin looked at her grandson with concern. "How could I not make sure you’re well-nourished, without it, it’s very easy for your health to falter."

There’s a smile sprouting from the corner of Qin Muchuan’s mouth. "Grandma, you really are a loving grandma. Don’t worry, your grandson is in great health. This is nothing to fuss over!"

Grandma Qin glared at him. With her serious face on, she declared, "If I told you to eat, you eat!"

Qin Muchuan nodded to indicate his compliance, then he turned to the butler. "Auntie Chen, make sure you save a bowl of bird’s nest for my wife too, and also a share of these dishes!"

"Young master, don’t worry, I’ve already prepared a portion for the young madam!" The butler assured him immediately.

"Good, thank you!" Once he made sure everything was taken care of, Qin Muchuan started eating.

Observing her grandson wolf down his food, Grandma Qin couldn’t help but ask in dissatisfaction, "Where is your wife? Is she not coming down for dinner? Or is she planning to eat upstairs?"

"No, my wife doesn’t have the habit of eating in her room, unless she’s injured and can’t move. Unless there’s an exceptional circumstance, she would always join me for meals, albeit a bit late," Qin Muchuan managed to reply in between bites.

"I’ve never seen a woman like this, how can she behave this way..." Grandma Qin sighed out loud.

"Grandma, please don’t blame my Wanwan, it’s not her fault!" Qin Muchuan quickly jumped in to defend Wanwan.

"Not her fault? I think it is her problem!"

"Grandma..." Qin Muchuan questioned heavily.

"Alright, alright, I’ll drop it. You’re now so enchanted by your wife, you won’t listen to anyone else!" Grandma Qin became angry again.

Qin Muchuan chuckled again and retorted, "Isn’t it you who advised me to get along well with my wife? Why are you blaming her now?"

Grandma Qin was so worked up, she was stuttering, her eyes blink rapidly. "I told you to get along well with her, not by doing it this way. What are you two doing...?"

Qin Muchuan saw his grandmother’s reproaches as sweet compliments, so he was quite happy.

Witnessing her grandson completely dismissing her words, Grandma Qin decided to stop nagging at him. The matter had to be discussed with his wife instead.

After dinner, Qin Muchuan went to play chess with his grandfather.

Qin Muchuan was a highly skilled player, and his grandfather enjoyed playing against him. Their games would usually last several rounds.

Taking advantage of this break, Grandma Qin went into her grandson’s room.

With a ’click’ sound, the light was turned on by Grandma Qin.

Having been asleep for a while, Lin Xiangwan instantly woke up as the light went on.

Lin Xiangwan was taken aback and felt a shudder of fear seeing Grandma Qin, with her silver-white hair and stern face, holding a cane.

After a few seconds, she gradually regained her senses and her heartbeat slowly returned to normal. "Grandma!"

"You’re awake?" Grandma Qin asked.

Lin Xiangwan nodded, instinctively pulling up the blanket.

"Grandma, is there something wrong?"

"Yes, I’ve got something to discuss with you," Grandma Qin nodded.

"Please go ahead!" Lin Xiangwan obliged, forcing herself to sit up.

Seeing Lin Xiangwan in her naked form, Grandma Qin boiled with anger. "Did you just go bed or are you still asleep?"

Embarrassed, Lin Xiangwan stammered out a laugh, her cheeks flushing red, "Grandma, I... I was kind of tired, so I took a nap!"

"I have something to tell you."

"Go ahead."

"Can you not cling to Chuanchuan so much in the future? Men shouldn’t be taken advantage of too much," Grandma Qin admonished her, clearly concerned for her grandson.

Lin Xiangwan was left speechless, after a few moments, she managed to find her voice. "Grandma, when have I ever clung to him? I never did!"

Grandma Qin responded unhappily, "What do you mean you never did? You’re just like a fox spirit, it’s probably in your nature!"

"Grandma..." Lin Xiangwan’s face turned white, she hadn’t expected grandma to launch such a personal attack.

Even Grandma Qin realized she went overboard. Seeing the young girl’s pale face, she felt a tinge of guilt.

But, she was used to getting her way and had no intention of admitting she was wrong.

Just then, Qin Muchuan walked in. "Grandma, what were you saying?"

Grandma Qin glared at her grandson. "I’m communicating with her, it’s none of your business!"

"What’s none of my business!" Qin Muchuan glanced at Lin Xiangwan in concern, then said to his grandmother, "If there’s something to blame, it should be my fault..."
