If you dare, bring me into your home so I can be at your disposal, come and go as you please. Have you got the guts?" Zhou Ziqing clenched her fists and hit the old man who had just entered the room.

Qin Gang caught her hand and played with it. "Are you serious?"

"Yes!" Zhou Ziqing defiantly looked at him. "It’s up to you if you dare."

"Heh..." Qin Gang chuckled. "Are you trying to challenge me? To confront me, right?"

Zhou Ziqing curled her lips. "Challenge you? Why would I bother? I knew you wouldn’t dare. You’re scared of the tigress at home!"

"Scared?" Qin Gang laughed dismissively. "I’m not scared of her, she’s nothing!"

"Nothing? She’s the mother of your son!"

"Don’t mention my son. The thought of him gives me a headache!" Qin Gang massaged his temples.

"You don’t need to escort me anymore, I’ll just wander around!" Lin Xiangwan, not wanting to delay Qin Muchuan’s work, suggested that he drop her off at a crossroad.

"It’s okay, where do you want to go? I’ll take you there!"

"I said it’s unnecessary!" Xiangwan objected a bit impatiently, a sure sign that she cared for Muchuan’s time.

Qin Muchuan glanced around. "Then, I’ll drop you off at the Commercial Street. You can look at some clothes, or buy something!"

"Alright!"

He pressed the accelerator and headed for the commercial district.

Lin Xiangwan felt aimless. "Do you think poorly of me because I don’t work? Am I a real burden?"

"Of course not. Don’t ruminate on these pointless thoughts. Our child needs your care, and I also like coming home to see you after work!" Qin Muchuan gently rubbed her head.

"Well, that’s the best I can hope for right now!" Lin Xiangwan sighed.

She initially planned to start her own business but now she needed to accompany her great-grandparents, so she had to delay for another week.

The limited-edition black business car came to a stop quickly.

Lin Xiangwan unbuckled her seat belt and prepared to get out of the car.

Qin Muchuan looked around again. "Be careful!"

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine! I’ve lived here for many years, I know what I’m doing." Xiangwan wasn’t worried at all about the city she was so familiar with.

What could happen on the bustling streets?

"Still, it’s better to be cautious. If there’s any problem, call me immediately!" Qin Muchuan emphasized again.

Lin Xiangwan nodded perfunctorily and stepped out of the car!

Qin Muchuan’s car quickly drove away.

Lin Xiangwan aimlessly wandered around the streets, then passed by a children’s clothing store which was having a sale.

The children’s summer clothes displayed in the window looked quite nice.

Like any normal mother, she followed the crowd and walked in!

Lin Xiangwan picked out two sets of shorts and shirts for her son, and two dresses for her daughter. Although not from luxury brands, they’re quite renowned in the children’s clothing industry. The children wouldn’t lose face wearing them.

The clothes felt good and their colours matched beautifully.

She was confident that the children would like them.

After paying, Lin Xiangwan carried the clothes out of the store.

Just then, a woman passed by her.

Before Lin Xiangwan could figure out what was happening, a man harshly shoved her to the side.

She stumbled backwards several steps. Fortunately, she was wearing sneakers, which helped her maintain balance. Otherwise, she would have fallen hard.

As she was about to curse the man who bumped into her, she saw the woman who was about to pass her suddenly run off and jump into a car.

Immediately, she felt something was off.

"Madam, are you okay?" A plain-looking man in a tracksuit approached her.

Only then did Lin Xiangwan recall him. He was one of Qin Muchuan’s bodyguards. "What are you doing here?"

"Sir sent me to protect you!" The man succinctly replied.

"Protect me? Why? What do I need protection from?" Lin Xiangwan was utterly puzzled. More so, she felt she was being denied trust and was being monitored.

All of Qin Muchuan’s bodyguards were trained professionals who had worked in Zhongnanhai. Getting information out of them was nearly impossible.

Lin Xiangwan refrained from venting at the bodyguard. "I see!"

The bodyguard kept his head low, saying nothing.

"How long have you been following me?" Lin Xiangwan enquired again.

"That, I’m not sure. I was recently assigned to protect you, Madam!" The man spoke softly.

"Recently? Is that since we returned from vacation in S City?" Lin Xiangwan inquired further.

"Yes!"

Suppressing the urge to yell, Lin Xiangwan asked carefully, "When you said recently, do you mean there were bodyguards following me before?"

"I don’t know about that, sorry Madam, but I can’t answer that!"

No longer in the mood to wander, Lin Xiangwan looked at the bodyguard. "Where’s your car?"

Without answering, the bodyguard made a phone call, and a Land Rover soon pulled up. Xiangwan noticed that the driver was also one of Qin Muchuan’s bodyguards.

It seems that it wasn’t just one bodyguard who was assigned to protect her!

She angrily opened the car door and climbed in!

The bodyguard quickly followed.

"Take me to Huatai. I want to see Qin Muchuan!"

The two bodyguards followed her orders and headed straight for Huatai!

Without notifying anyone, Lin Xiangwan stormed into the CEO’s office, her face grim.

"Madam, Madam..." The assistant tried to stop her from behind.
