Chapter 93: The Face is Swollen

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: The Face is Swollen

Hearing this, the young master turned his head to look at her.

"What?"

His gaze moved between her and Chu Nanli, expressing confusion.

Two benefactors?

Chu Nanli looked at the young master and asked, "Is it convenient for you to roll up your trouser leg?"

The young master’s face stiffened, and he feigned calm, "Why would I roll up my trouser leg?"

Seeing this, Lin Fuying spoke up, "Sister, please don’t cause more trouble."

Madame Wu watched this scene, a trace of something different flickering across her eyes.

She decided to give Chu Nanli another chance.

"Yunting, due to some misunderstandings, it’s still not clear who the lady that saved you is. However, one lady claims you had an allergy, while the other says you were bitten by a snake. Tell mother the truth, what actually happened?"

Luo Shuye was at a loss.

Two benefactors to choose from when searching for the savior?

He was in a dilemma.

To tell the truth or not?

He hesitated for only a moment, then yanked up his trouser leg, and with closed eyes, he loudly said, "I was bitten by a snake. Mother, don’t be angry, I bought a little green snake without telling you, it bit me and then ran away, I promise I’ll never do such a thing again."

Madame Wu burst into laughter in spite of her frustration; her little home-wrecker of a son never gave her a day’s peace.

The expressions of the three people from War God Residence in the courtyard changed drastically.

Chu Nanli looked over with a sneer, "Now, who is the one suffering from hysteria? Is it clear now? And now, who should be apologizing?"

Lin Fuying’s body trembled slightly, but she still refused to relent.

"Even if the young master was truly bitten by a snake, there is no direct evidence to prove that my sister was the one who saved him, right? Yingying only has a superficial understanding of medicine. Seeing the young master collapse, she felt terribly distressed and assumed it was an allergic reaction. After feeding him the medicine and seeing his condition stabilize, she didn’t check for any wounds."

Chu Nanli scoffed, "Concubine Lin truly missed her calling by not becoming a storyteller."

Lin Fuying clenched her fingers inside her sleeves, a flicker of hatred crossing her heart.

Damn wench, always opposed to her!

She wouldn’t let her have her way.

"Madam, Prince, Brother Wuhen, Yingying really isn’t lying. Yingying doesn’t care who takes credit for saving someone but doesn’t want to be misunderstood by everyone."

What a delicate act of retreating in order to advance.

And Bai Wuheng was actually taking it in.

"Princess Consort Chu, since you say the person was saved by you, where is your evidence?"

As if by accident, Lin Fuying brought up, "The young master said he saw the token of War God Residence, but didn’t my sister give her token to a bodyguard?"

Ye Yunting’s eyes swirled with anger, "Chu Nanli, apologize to Yingying and Wuhen. Don’t force me to teach you a lesson myself."

Madame Wu’s brows furrowed slightly.

She felt the situation was somewhat absurd.

If it’s said that Chu Nanli lacks evidence to prove she was the savior, then Lin Fuying also lacks evidence. Why did no one mention this?

"Sister, where is your evidence?" Luo Shuye blinked his eyes and spoke with a distressed expression, "It’s all my fault, I didn’t get a clear look at what my benefactor looked like. However, if you have evidence to prove you were the one who saved me, that would settle everything."

Lin Fuying’s pretty face stiffened.

Chu Nanli laughed coldly.

The white lotus and her loyal dogs really refused to give up until they hit a dead end.

But the young master from General Residence delivered a timely blow.

"Indeed, why doesn’t Concubine Lin present any evidence? Why do the Prince and Bai Wuheng not bring this up? Did it not occur to them, or are they covering something up?"

"Chu Nanli, be careful..."

Ye Yunting’s warning stopped abruptly, as his expression briefly froze.

Because he saw Chu Nanli pull a bloodstained handkerchief from her sleeve.

"This was used by me to wipe the contusion when I was treating the young master’s wound; I hadn’t had the chance to throw it away, and I didn’t expect it would come in handy. Prince, would this count as evidence?"

The faces of Bai Wuheng and Lin Fuying changed.

Madame Wu, however, secretly breathed a sigh of relief, looking at Chu Nanli with admiration.

This girl was not all courage and no strategy. Not bad.

Luo Shuye then jogged up to Chu Nanli, took the handkerchief from her, and sniffed it; immediately making a face of disgust,

"That’s right, it’s this stench. It smells exactly like the wound on my leg."

After he finished speaking, his eyes shone brightly as he looked at Chu Nanli, "My benefactor, I’ve finally found you. The moment I entered, I felt that you were my lifesaver."

Those words struck Lin Fuying’s face like a loud slap. Her face went from red to green, drowning in a mix of hatred and embarrassment.

She failed to notice that Ye Yunting and Bai Wuheng both turned to look at her with a flicker of indescribable emotion in their eyes.

Luo Shuye, feeling that the blow to Lin Fuying wasn’t sufficient, continued, "Entering the room, I also noticed the faint smell of medicinal herbs on my benefactor’s sister, which was the same as the scent I smelled in the alleyway. The other sister, who wasn’t as pretty as my benefactor’s sister, had a strong perfume scent."

Lin Fuying’s nails dug into her palms, her face nearly twisted.

Standing to the side, Madame Wu seemed unaware of what her younger son had done, showing no intention of stepping in to stop him.
