Chapter 260: Chapter 261 Can’t Wait

Chu Nanli frowned, looking at Ye Yunting.

At this moment, his face was exceptionally cold and hard, a frigid depth in his eyes without a trace of warmth.

"Chu Nanli, are you so eager to move out?"

Chu Nanli wanted to say that of course she was, but her intuition told her not to speak those words.

"If I move out, it would also prevent possibly implicating the War King Residence someday." Chu Nanli stared at Ye Yunting, yet her words were addressed to Yang Shu.

Yang Shu agreed wholeheartedly and was about to voice her agreement when Ye Yunting interrupted with a cold voice, "The War King Residence won’t be implicated by anyone; there’s no need for you to move out."

Chu Nanli felt a little anxious upon hearing Ye Yunting’s words.

"You promised me. Are you planning to go back on your word now?" Her eyebrows furrowed, her pretty little face filled with chill at this moment.

Ye Yunting felt a sudden pain in his chest again.

Chu Nanli, seeing the rigid expression on Ye Yunting’s face, knew it might be difficult to move out.

Luckily, Yang Shu was there.

She deliberately mentioned moving out in front of Yang Shu, knowing with her assistance, she would definitely be able to move out.

"Empress Yang, as you see, I want to move out, but the Prince does not permit it." Chu Nanli turned and spoke to Yang Shu.

"Maybe you could persuade the Prince for me?"

Of course, whether Yang Shu could persuade Ye Yunting or not, she was determined to leave.

Thankfully, an agreement was made previously to prevent Ye Yunting from reneging!

"Chu Nanli!" Ye Yunting’s face darkened, and he gritted his teeth.

Chu Nanli did not respond, and Yang Shu’s expression turned somewhat ugly.

"Yunting, if Chu Nanli wants to leave, let her leave! Her status is not fit to be your official wife!"

As she spoke, her contemptuous gaze turned towards Chu Nanli.

"You’d better do as you said and move out promptly. Keeping a wretch like you in the residence brings misfortune."

Chu Nanli’s expression turned slightly cold, and she was about to retort when she heard Ye Yunting speak in a deep voice, "Mother, it’s time for you to leave!"

Yang Shu was momentarily stunned, her eyes slightly teary.

Was Ye Yunting really sending her away?

She was his mother, after all!

With this thought, rage welled up inside her!

"Ye Yunting! Today you must make Chu Nanli move out, or I will divorce her on your behalf!" Yang Shu declared with a firm tone.

Chu Nanli silently watched from the side, secretly applauding in her heart, thinking with these words from Yang Shu, leaving the Prince Residence was almost a certainty.

Ye Yunting’s face turned pitch black.

"The affairs of the Prince Residence are not for Mother to interfere with!" Ye Yunting coldly retorted and then stomped off.

His words utterly disregarded Yang Shu’s dignity.

Yang Shu stood rooted to the spot, her expression transitioning from shock to anger.

"Chu Nanli, since you have already agreed, then don’t linger in the Prince Residence!"

Yang Shu harshly dropped this line and stormed off in anger.

Chu Nanli’s eyebrows lightly knitted, thinking she needed to move out as quickly as possible, preferably by surprise, while Ye Yunting was not at home, for fear he might change his mind.

When Chu Nanli returned to Chuxiang Garden, it was quite "lively."

Yanyan was directing the servants in packing up.

"Your Highness, rest assured, I’ll make sure to move everything that can be moved!" Yanyan declared confidently.

Not a thing would be left for the Prince Residence!

Chu Nanli could not help but smile, but she was grateful for Yanyan’s efficiency.

She did not want to wait another day!

"Okay, oversee the packing, some things we can do without," said Chu Nanli.

She didn’t mind if all her belongings were taken, as long as she could move out quickly.

"Okay," Yanyan nodded and continued with the packing.

Chu Nanli went back to her room, but instead of resting, she entered the space and refined the Empress Dowager’s herbal pills.

She had agreed to treat the Empress Dowager tomorrow morning, and she planned to go early and return early.

The next morning, Chu Nanli instructed Yanyan that if Chu Yi couldn’t find a house by noon, they should start moving their belongings to Bright Moon Building first.

Even if it meant staying in Bright Moon Building for a couple of days, she did not want to stay in the Prince Residence any longer.

After giving these instructions, she prepared to leave for the palace, only to run into Ye Yunting who was on his way to the morning court.

Chu Nanli couldn’t be bothered with him and walked on with her head lowered, but he called after her.

"Where are you going?" Ye Yunting asked in a low voice.

Chu Nanli stopped in her tracks, "To the palace." she said indifferently.

"Take my carriage," Ye Yunting commanded coldly, his voice admitting no argument.

Chu Nanli disliked the sensation of being ordered around, frowned, and was about to speak when Ye Yunting abruptly grabbed her wrist.

Her expression turned cold as she tried to pull away, but Ye Yunting’s grip was too tight, the roughness of his large hand making her wrist ache.

"Let go." She bit her teeth, looking at Ye Yunting.

"Chu Nanli, don’t be so stubborn, huh?" Ye Yunting said with a darkened face, his cold eyes gazing deeply at her.

Chu Nanli didn’t struggle further, reasoning that she would soon move out anyway; she wanted to avoid conflicts as much as possible.

"Let go, I’ll get on by myself," Chu Nanli said coldly.

Hearing this, Ye Yunting gently released Chu Nanli’s arm.

The warm touch lingered on his fingertips, momentarily distracting him.

Thinking back, her arm was so soft, so slender; he feared exerting any strength, as if he might break her with just a squeeze.

During his moment of distraction, Chu Nanli had already gracefully walked toward the carriage.

Dressed in red today, her skirt lifting with the morning breeze, she resembled a fluttering butterfly.

He wanted to reach out and hold her, yet it seemed beyond his grasp.

Ye Yunting suddenly decided he couldn’t let Chu Nanli fly away.

Having boarded the carriage, Chu Nanli saw Ye Yunting standing motionless and frowned.

"Aren’t you coming?" she asked Ye Yunting coldly.

Clasping and unclasping his fist, Ye Yunting stepped into the carriage.

The ride was silent, the atmosphere inside the carriage oppressively heavy.

As they neared the Imperial Palace, Chu Nanli finally breathed a sigh of relief, her lips curving slightly upward.

Just before arriving at the Imperial Palace, Ye Yunting suddenly spoke up.

"Don’t take to heart what Mother said, okay?"

Chu Nanli’s smile paused at her lips.

"What do you mean?"

"You don’t have to move out," Ye Yunting paused, then added in a grave voice, his dark, shining eyes revealing a trace of sincerity.

Chu Nanli quickly shook her head, "No, I’m moving out, Ye Yunting, you’re not thinking of going back on your word, are you?"

Chu Nanli looked steadily at Ye Yunting, thinking that if he reneged, she would produce the written agreement.

Ye Yunting’s expression darkened by degrees, his chest rising and falling erratically.

He had indeed promised Chu Nanli.

And he truly regretted it, yet he found himself without a reason to stop it.

Seeing that Ye Yunting remained silent, Chu Nanli quickly got out of the carriage.

Watching Chu Nanli walk away, Ye Yunting’s heart felt as though it was being squeezed by someone.

He conjectured that it must be his heart condition acting up again.

Otherwise, why would he be so breathless?

Chu Nanli headed straight for Yikun Palace after dismounting the carriage.

She needed to treat the Empress Dowager quickly and then rush back to the Prince Residence to pack up, hoping to move out before Ye Yunting returned from the morning court.

It would be best to leave a message for Yang Shu as well, to have her send Ye Yunting away...

Thinking this, Chu Nanli, upon reaching Yikun Palace, borrowed a Palace Maid from the Empress Dowager to relay a message to Yang Shu.

The Empress Dowager, a woman who had weathered many storms, was astute and wise; with a simple description of Chu Nanli and Ye Yunting’s relationship, she grasped the gist of the matter.
