Chapter 247: 248

The man’s weight pressed down on her, and Nanny almost toppled over, her body swaying.

She really wanted to throw Ye Yunting out.

It wasn’t because he was heavy, but rather she felt it was bad luck.

Who wants to hold up a dead person!

Nanny’s face turned ashen.

Chu Nanli was too busy to care about Nanny’s complexion and quickly entered the imaging room, turning on the machine that takes pictures.

She had occasionally used this machine for prenatal check-ups before.

It was the most advanced imaging machine, capable of scanning for internal problems in detail.

After starting the machine, Chu Nanli called out to Nanny outside, "Alright, bring the person in."

"Yes!" Nanny quickly responded, dragging Ye Yunting inside.

Although she was somewhat discomfited, she would complete any task Chu Nanli wanted to be done!

After all, she was a loyal servant!

Chu Nanli watched as Nanny dragged Ye Yunting in with vigorous airs, finding the scene inexplicably funny.

A nearly six-foot-tall man was dragged across the ground by Nanny with considerable friction.

She wondered what Ye Yunting would do if he woke up and saw this.

"Lift him up here," said Chu Nanli.

Saying this, she also lent a hand, and together they lifted Ye Yunting onto the machine.

"Alright, you can go out now." Once Chu Nanli had positioned Ye Yunting properly, she said to Nanny.

"Yes." Nanny nodded and quickly exited.

Although she was curious about what Chu Nanli wanted to do, she wouldn’t ask if Chu Nanli chose not to say.

She wanted to prove to Chu Nanli that she was the most loyal servant!

Chu Nanli scanned Ye Yunting from top to bottom with the machine.

This machine produced images instantly; the report was ready in less than an hour.

The results showed that this damned man was in very good physical condition, with no issues at all.

However, there indeed was a problem with his heart.

It appeared to be due to acute emotional fluctuations in the short term, causing blockages and inflammation.

Now that she knew the condition, Chu Nanli could prescribe the right medicine.

She pulled Ye Yunting out of the imaging room and handed him back to Nanny, then she cleaned the imaging room thoroughly before leisurely preparing the medicine.

Nanny wondered if Chu Nanli was going to "dissect" Ye Yunting!

Chu Nanli had previously explained to her the meaning of dissection.

Chu Nanli hated Ye Yunting so much that scanning him was probably preparation for dissection, right?

The mere thought was terrifying!

While Nanny was wildly speculating, Chu Nanli had already finished preparing the medicine.

"Fetch some water," Chu Nanli instructed.

"Yes." Nanny dared not ask further, thinking that perhaps they needed to wash Ye Yunting clean before dissection.

So, when Nanny carried in a large bucket of bath water all by herself, Chu Nanli’s eyes widened in surprise.

"What... what are you doing?"

Seeing Chu Nanli’s astonished gaze, Nanny was smug.

"This humble servant knew you’d want to clean him before dissection, so I fetched extra water!" Nanny proudly declared.

Her face seemed to say, ’Hurry up and praise me.’

Chu Nanli was stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing.

Nanny actually thought she was going to dissect Ye Yunting?

When did her thought processes become so active?

"Why would I dissect him?" Chu Nanli couldn’t help asking.

"Isn’t it because you hate the Prince..." Nanny tentatively shared her own thinking.

Chu Nanli couldn’t help but burst into laughter after hearing this.

She never expected that Nanny Hua had such rich inner thoughts.

"I was only helping him get checked so as to treat his illness. He can’t die at my hands now; otherwise, it would be very troublesome," Chu Nanli briefly explained.

Nanny Hua instantly understood.

"It was this old servant who was not thoughtful enough."

Yes, right now, taking care of Ye Yunting might seem easy, but what about the aftermath?

She wasn’t alone; she was a mother.

Chu Nanli was also enduring it all for the sake of her two children.

If she were by herself, she could kill her enemies and flee afar. She, alone, could hide anywhere with ease.

But what if she brought along two young ones?

She must provide her children with a secure life, not allowing them to live in fear.

That’s why she worked so hard to build her own strength, strong enough to confront the Imperial Court...

Chu Nanli fed Ye Yunting some medicine and then dragged him out of the space, dumping him on the bed.

Ye Yunting was suffering from pent-up frustration, which wasn’t a huge issue, and he would soon wake up.

But why did he suddenly become so frustrated?

"What is it that made your emotions fluctuate so greatly?"

Chu Nanli couldn’t understand it.

Ultimately, she concluded that Ye Yunting was neurotic, given to unpredictable moods.

She had no intention of staying any longer, and as she was about to turn and leave, her wrist was grabbed by a cold, large hand.

Chu Nanli looked down and saw that Ye Yunting had awakened.

"Let go," Chu Nanli said in a low voice, frowning.

Ye Yunting’s heart trembled.

His fingertips quivered, but eventually, he let go of her hand.

"This Prince is unwell," Ye Yunting said in a low voice from behind her, displeased as he saw Chu Nanli about to walk away.

Chu Nanli paused and turned back to look at him.

"I know, Prince. You are suffering from frustration. I just gave you some medicine, and you will soon start to feel better," she explained.

Ye Yunting’s dark gaze softly swirled as he continued to watch Chu Nanli, quiet but with complex emotions in his eyes.

Chu Nanli thought Ye Yunting was worried about his health.

She pondered for a moment before reminding him, "Prince, it would be better for you to maintain a calm heart in the future. Avoid being so mercurial, careful not to aggravate your condition."

She wasn’t being particularly kind; it was just that if Ye Yunting really got sick again, it would be a hassle for her.

"Chu Nanli, do you truly not know why this Prince is angry?" Ye Yunting looked at Chu Nanli with cold dark pupils, his gaze filled with iciness.

"How would I know?" Chu Nanli found Ye Yunting rather inexplicable.

With his unpredictable temper, how was she to guess?

Seeing Chu Nanli’s indifferent attitude, Ye Yunting’s anger surged again, and his icy sharp eyes seemed to shoot flames.

"Chu Nanli!" Ye Yunting ground his teeth. "You still dare to play the fool with this Prince?"

Chu Nanli became even more puzzled, giving Ye Yunting a look of total bewilderment.

"I really don’t know why you’re angry," Chu Nanli said with a mocking curl of her lip. "So who has provoked you now, War God Prince?"

Ye Yunting, seeing her feigning ignorance, felt his heart pounding and blood rushing to his head, almost spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.

He forcibly swallowed it back, the taste of blood filling his mouth.

Chu Nanli also realized something was wrong with Ye Yunting, and quickly came forward to take his pulse, promptly protecting his heart meridian.

Ye Yunting calmed a bit when he saw Chu Nanli so concerned for him.

But recalling the intimate scene between her and that strange man the night before, anger rose in his heart.

"Whom did you meet in secret last night?" Ye Yunting asked with a heavy voice.

His voice was somewhat hoarse and weak, yet carried a tinge of anger.
