Chapter 239 - 238 Uncle: The insolent boy, he deserves to be beaten to death.

Chapter 239: 238 Uncle: The insolent boy, he deserves to be beaten to death.

After the start of winter, the urgent rain beat against the glass, creating a snapping sound. Outside, the heavy clouds hung low, and as Ryan Wells recalled past events, his body involuntarily shivered. Suddenly, a winter thunderclap sounded from outside—

He slowly stepped toward Zoe Bell, "I thought that when I ran into William Hale that night, he was just standing up for what’s right."

"I could only blame my bad luck, not realizing..."

"It was all because of you!"

Zoe Bell clenched the handle of her cane and watched as he advanced step by step, her breath quickening.

"You’re thinking too much, I didn’t even know him a few years ago."

"It doesn’t matter whether you knew him or not," Ryan Wells sneered, his breath reeking strongly of tobacco as he came closer, "It’s his tough luck for loving you."

"I can’t touch him, so I go after the ones he cares about."

"I want him to taste a life worse than death." After saying this, Ryan Wells laughed brazenly.

He twisted his facial muscles, his expression becoming terrifyingly grim.

"Did you have something to do with what happened to my brother?" Zoe Bell forced herself to stay calm.

"Miss Bell, don’t make wild accusations without evidence," Ryan Wells said with a smirk, eyeing her. "Back then, I didn’t notice among those girls, there was a beauty like you."

Zoe Bell was still young then, not yet fully matured.

Naive and unripe.

Not like now, like a rose blooming for the first time, pure yet desirous, her body exuding an aura somewhere between innocence and maturity. He had observed her for a long time, naturally itching with desire.

"To be honest..."

"I also want to know what the woman William Hale fancies tastes like."

Ryan Wells advanced menacingly.

"Stop coming any closer! I will call for help!" Zoe Bell’s fingers tightened around the cane, her knuckles turning pale, "If you touch me, Mr. Hale won’t let you off."

"Ha ha—" Ryan Wells moved closer, "Then call him over!"

Up close, the faint scent of citrus from Zoe Bell was intoxicating.

"Miss Bell, you smell really nice."

He reached out, trying to hook his finger around the hair fallen on her shoulder.

The next second,

Zoe Bell suddenly raised her hand and "slap—" landed a heavy blow on his face, turning his head to one side.

He paused for two seconds, then chuckled darkly, looking up only to be met with another vicious slap!

This one split his lip.

"Don’t touch me!" Zoe Bell gritted her teeth.

Ryan Wells touched the blood on his lip, chuckling softly, "You really are one of William Hale’s fiery ones. I like it."

"Miss Bell, your legs aren’t going to let you run away..."

He lowered his voice, "You might as well save your energy, I fear you won’t be able to scream later."

"Shameless!"

"Ha ha—" Ryan Wells laughed uncontrollably, "I’m indeed a shameless man. How can I compare to William Hale? He’s the moon in the sky, and I’m but the mud on the ground. My name isn’t even worthy to be on the same piece of paper as his."

"He only relies on his good background, having the Hale Family back him up!"

"What happened back then, he almost got me killed, and yet he walked away unscathed, why?"

"Do you know how much I’ve suffered?"

As he spoke, Ryan Wells tore open his shirt revealing a scar that ran from the back of his neck across his chest, heading straight for his heart!

It seemed,

Just a bit more, and it would have pierced his heart!

"Years ago, I almost died at his hands!" Ryan Wells remembered the past and shivered violently, "All these years, I’ve been living like I’m in the gutter. Whenever he appears somewhere, I cannot show up."

"He lives in sunshine, while I exist like a ghost."

"He destroyed me, even ruined the entire Wells Family. My family told me not to hate him, how could I not?"

"I wish I could see him dead!"

Ryan Wells’s expression turned manic.

"You deserve it!" Zoe Bell spoke coldly.

"Talking tough even when you’re about to die, if you said some kind words to me now, I might let you suffer less later." Ryan Wells chuckled lowly, "I’ve always been one to pity and cherish beauty."

"Touch me? Aren’t you afraid I’ll call the police, sue you for rape?"

As Zoe’s words fell, Ryan Wells laughed even more boldly, his eyes narrowing as they roamed over her smooth, delicate skin.

"Miss Bell, you really don’t understand me..."

"Since the incident, I’ve undergone over two years of treatment, my mental health isn’t very stable."

"I have a psychiatric certificate."

His voice was at times low, at times excited, his laughter disturbing.

"Even if I killed someone, it wouldn’t matter." As soon as he finished speaking, he burst out laughing.

"William Hale is the favored son of Heaven, maybe in his whole life he has never known what it means to be heartbreakingly miserable, to live a life worse than death. Today... I’ll let him have a real taste of it."

Suddenly, Zoe Bell cried out at the top of her lungs, "Help—"

Ryan Wells chuckled, "Crying for help now, isn’t it too late?"

"Outside are my men, no one will come to save you."

The stark light in the changing room shone on his twisted, ferocious face, giving him a sickly, frenzied look.

His foul breath hit her face, sickening her.

His tone was uncontrollably excited.

He was about to take action, unbuckling his belt—

Just as he prepared to pounce towards Zoe Bell, he heard a loud "bang"—a kick at the door, which caused his eyebrows to furrow because the door was locked from the inside and no one could enter from the outside.

"Who the fuck is it!" Ryan Wells frowned.

Damn—

My pants are already off, why is someone coming now?

A second later,

Another violent kick at the door, the lock rattling!

"Bang—" Another fierce kick, and the door was violently kicked open, hitting the wall behind.

The sound was thunderous!

Ryan Wells was startled by the noise, his body instinctively flinching, his belt unbuckled, his hands originally holding up his pants, now his fingers trembled uncontrollably due to nerve damage, causing his pants to slide down halfway.

He squinted, sizing up the person at the door.

A middle-aged man, unrecognizable to him.

The man was lean, with eyes as sharp as a falcon’s, staring intently at him, inexplicably making his skin crawl.

"Who are you! I’m telling you, don’t fucking meddle," Ryan Wells muttered irritably in his heart.

Where are my own damn guys?

I told him to guard the door, and he slacks off!

Today’s perfect opportunity is ruined, he cursed under his breath, "You old bastard, ruining my plans!"

He bent down, intending to pull up his pants, but unexpectedly the man took a few quick steps forward and kicked—

Right at his chin!

Knocking him to the ground.

"Do you fucking want to die?" Ryan Wells quickly got up and threw a punch at him.

Zoe Bell frowned, "Uncle..."

She couldn’t even finish saying "Uncle, be careful" before Martin Yates had already reached out and grabbed his neck!

"Bang—" Ryan Wells’s body was slammed hard against a side changing closet by Martin Yates.

He screamed in pain.

Ryan Wells, his neck grasped, struggled to breathe, his face turning purple. Martin Yates moved closer, his voice hoarse from a previous throat injury, the oppressive feeling evident as he spoke.

"Kid, who did you say wanted to die?"

"Ugh—" Ryan Wells struggled violently, his hands slapping continuously.

Martin Yates knew his limits, seeing Ryan struggle to breathe, he finally loosened his grasp. Ryan Wells reached for his neck, gasping for air.

"Who, who are you?"

Martin Yates looked down at him, as if he were staring at an insignificant bug.

"Are you even worthy of asking who I am?"

"You arrogant fool, deserve to die."

At that moment, a winter thunder crashed outside,

Lightning streaked past the window.

A murderous intent flashed in Martin Yates’s eyes.

Zoe Bell was also surprised, she had only discussed this matter with her own brother, how did her uncle get involved? Martin Yates turned to look at her, making sure she was unharmed, his eyebrows still tightly furrowed, not relaxing even a bit.

"Do you know what you are doing?" Martin Yates stared at her, "What if something happened?"

"I..." Zoe Bell, feeling guilty, lowered her head.

Ryan Wells, regaining some strength, couldn’t contain his anger. This old man who ruined his perfect moment, not only interfering but also daring to hit him!

He caught sight of a stool in the changing room, rushed over, lifted it, and swung it at Martin Yates...

Zoe Bell exclaimed in shock, her pupils dilating.

"Be careful!"

Martin Yates turned his head.

"You old fool, go to hell!" Ryan Wells was a madman.

He lifted the stool and swung it at Martin Yates.

Unexpectedly,

The next second,

A dark object, aimed at his head.

Was that...

A gun?
