Chapter 170: 170 Big fight, fought until miscarriage (2 updates)
William Hale was still driving on his way over.
"Kidnapped and dumped at the door of a police station?" Zac Cruz was stunned for several seconds after hearing the news, "Boss, who did it?"
"If I knew, would I be asking you?"
"This means that someone has been secretly keeping an eye on every move Molly Hanson makes; otherwise, they couldn’t have acted so swiftly and decisively."
William Hale’s gaze turned slightly cold, "I’m afraid it’s not her they are watching but..."
Watching the Hugh Family.
Or rather, it could be targeting the grandmother, the aunt, or even the cousin. It’s all possible.
Zac Cruz understood his concerns, "But for now, it seems the other party probably doesn’t have malicious intent. Otherwise, they could have taken advantage of the situation to confirm the kidnapping or add fuel to the flames, and I guess Cousin Miss would have a headache again."
Fathers and daughters, there’s no true disavowal of relationship in the eyes of the law.
"Tell Kyle Lowe to keep an eye out for me, to see if there’s anyone particularly sensitive showing up around my cousin lately."
Zac Cruz nodded.
After all, Kyle Lowe was quite reliable.

Meanwhile, inside the police station
Liam Hugh began to lose control of his emotions after learning the truth.
"Very good, very good indeed..." Rage surged in his heart, "So it was all staged by you. I opened my heart to you, and this is how you repay me?"
"I’ve given you everything, and you actually deceived me?"
Liam Hugh’s little treasury had almost been completely emptied for her.
Otherwise, he wouldn’t have turned to Hannah Johnson.
Seeing his state, Molly Hanson stopped pretending, "You care about me? Just because I’m pregnant."
"What you care about is this child."
"I thought that by following you, I could smoothly have a child and live the life of a wealthy wife!"
"You promised me, to buy me houses and cars, but now your mother has taken back the house!"
"Liam Hugh, you’re in your fifties and still controlled by an old woman. What can I even expect from you?"
"Your mother was right, you..."
"Are no good!"
Liam Hugh was so angry he trembled all over. His fingers were clenched into fists, his forehead’s veins popping, but Molly Hanson neither dodged nor flinched, nor was she afraid. She stepped forward, "What, you want to hit me?"
"Don’t want the child anymore?"
"Enough, will you stop talking? Both of you, stop making a fuss," the police officer frowned.
These days, moral standards really have fallen.
Is being a mistress something to be proud of?
Seeing that he didn’t dare to hit her, Molly Hanson’s attitude became even more arrogant and unreasonable.
"Don’t talk about your mother, even your daughter can manipulate you at will. If I ever get to enter the Hugh Family, I’m afraid I won’t get any benefits."
"I just wanted to secure a backup for myself and the child. What’s wrong with that?"
Liam Hugh trembled all over, "Molly, you weren’t like this before."
"You weren’t this poor before."
"..."
Hannah Johnson was speechless; she knew that these two would eventually fall out with each other.
But she didn’t expect it to come this quickly.
Because of Molly Hanson, Liam Hugh had completely fallen out with his family, becoming a laughingstock of Capital City. He was so emotionally agitated that his lips trembled uncontrollably, even his speech quivered, "You, you said it was true love with me?"
Molly Hanson laughed out loud, "Liam Hugh, how old are you?"
"True love?"
"You actually believed that?"
"Before you, I had been with a few men, and I told each one it was true love—just playing the part. You’re not clueless, are you?"
"Or, have you really fallen in love with me?"
A chill seemed to race up from the soles of his feet in an instant, the piercing cold invading every limb and bone, leaving Liam Hugh feeling icy and chilled to the core.
Their relationship had been just a fling with no real emotional foundation, so love was out of the question.
However, Molly Hanson was particularly good at flattering him and boosting his ego, providing him with an emotional value he could not find with Yumi Johnson, and so he had kept her for several years.
Over these years, he had also spent a small fortune on her...
Now, to hear these words from her,
beyond shock and astonishment,
he felt anger and indignation,
after all, because of her and the child in her womb, Liam Hugh had lost too much.
Molly Hanson sneered, "If you weren’t rich, why would I bother following you? Useless in bed, not considerate beyond it, can’t compete with your daughter, can’t stand up to your mother, and now..."
"Are you angry, huh? You still don’t dare to hit me?"
"Wimp!"
"You’re just born into a good family, that’s all, lucky from the start. If your sister hadn’t died so early, you would probably have been abandoned by your parents long ago."
Molly Hanson had been with him long enough to know exactly how to hit where it hurt.
She was usually submissive and sweet-talking, but today she had torn off the mask and didn’t care.
Liam Hugh’s fingers tightened incessantly, until he could restrain himself no longer!
A slap flew across.
"You wretch!"
"Living off my money, and you still dare to insult me? I was truly blind before."
Molly Hanson was caught off guard and was sent tumbling to the ground.
"That’s enough, stop the noise!" a police officer intervened to stop Liam Hugh.
In domestic affairs like these, when a third party is involved, it’s rare that a dispute brought to the station doesn’t lead to violence.
Molly Hanson, confident that her pregnancy would prevent Liam from hitting her, raged with teeth clenched. She got up and started ripping at his clothes, "You old bastard, you dare to hit me..."
She was acting like a shrew, grabbing a hunk of Liam Hugh’s hair.
Clenching, tearing,
Zoe Bell hastily pulled Hannah Johnson back.
The scene had spiraled out of control.
It took four or five officers to intervene and stop this farce. Molly Hanson was relentless, taking advantage of her pregnancy, still trying to tear into him, while Liam Hugh was consumed with rage, beyond caring.
"You wretch, is that child in your belly even mine?" he now had his doubts.
"It’s not, are you happy now?"
"..."
That comment thoroughly enraged Liam Hugh.
Had it not been for this child, he wouldn’t be at odds with his whole family; he had been so indulgent and considerate towards her lately, and to find out the child wasn’t his?
"You better shut up and not provoke him further," the officer said, feeling a headache coming on.
"You’re a pregnant woman, you need to control your own emotions a bit."
But by now, rage had completely shattered Liam Hugh’s rationale, and with all his might, he broke free of the hold and lunged at Molly Hanson with a violent slap.
The blow was incredibly heavy.
Molly Hanson was knocked to the ground again.
As she tried to rise, a sudden pain struck her abdomen. Having given birth to two children before, she recognized this abnormal cramping feeling, and gasping for air she said, "My stomach... it’s not good, take me to the hospital."
"Liam Hugh, the child is indeed yours."
Liam Hugh stood there, stunned, watching as the officers frantically helped Molly Hanson out of the room. If a miscarriage was indeed happening, someone would need to sign for the surgery, and he would have to be present.
"Sis, let’s go to the hospital to get our injuries treated," Zoe Bell suggested to Hannah Johnson.
She had been watching this drama unfold from the sidelines.
There was a general hospital near the police station. Hannah Johnson needed stitches for her wound and a tetanus shot. Once done, they finally located Liam Hugh.
His eyes were bloodshot as he sat slumped on the ground.
The officers, unaware of the strained nature of their father-daughter relationship, glanced at Hannah Johnson, "The child didn’t make it."
