Chapter 148: Cousin gets angry and drives biological father out of the house (2 more updates)

By the end, Zoe Bell had already lost all her strength.

William Hale bent down to help her wipe down her body and carried her to bed before he washed himself and tidied up the bathroom.

Hold her, he felt deeply secure.

Zoe Bell was too tired last night and got up late, waking up at after ten in the morning, only to find William Hale still beside her, he rarely slept in.

Usually, by the time she got up, he was already off to work.

His schedule was immovable.

She turned over, stared at him for quite a while until his phone vibrated, then she hurriedly looked away.

William Hale glanced at the caller ID and answered, saying

"Hale, I heard you were drugged last night!"

"..."

William Hale felt a headache coming on.

Why was everyone focusing on the drugging incident.

And how had the news even gotten out!

The family knowing made sense to him, but how did this loudspeaker know too, he rubbed his forehead, "How did you find out?"

"Don’t worry, very few people know, who would have thought that hotel is owned by my family?" The person on the other end chuckled.

William Hale was resigned; he had entirely forgotten about that detail.

"Anything else? If not, I’m hanging up."

"Wait a minute, there’s been a major incident."

"Go on."

"I heard Sister Hannah kicked Uncle Hugh out of the house."

William Hale’s sleepiness vanished, "From now on, Liam Hugh is no longer my uncle."

"Oh, then he’s not my uncle either."

"..."

William Hale was resigned.

"I heard the Hugh Family was all chaos this morning, quite the spectacle. I regret not being there. Otherwise, I would have certainly cheered for Sister Hannah. She was someone I once fancied—my judgment was indeed excellent."

The person sighed deeply, "It’s a pity, Sister Hannah doesn’t like me. If I had pursued her back then, Hale, you would have had to call me ’brother-in-law’."

"Why didn’t I persist back then?"

William Hale rubbed his forehead, "Daydreaming."

"Liam Hugh was asking for trouble, why provoke her in the first place."

Just as William Hale was about to hang up, the person on the other end coughed, stuttering as if he had more to say, "Hale, there’s another thing."

"Continue."

"Well... last night Sister Hannah suddenly contacted me and asked me to arrange the family’s private jet to pick her up and return to Beijing. She rarely reaches out on her own, so I thought it was urgent and agreed to it immediately, without having the chance to inform you."

"I had no idea she was returning to personally confront her father."

Zoe Bell, who had been listening beside them, glanced at William Hale, "our cousin, she..."

"Get ready, join me on a trip to the Hugh household."

William Hale knew that their cousin had been on a business trip out of town; otherwise, with her temper, she would have stormed the hotel immediately. Still, she had returned to Beijing overnight.

An hour before

While the issue had been suppressed, some information had still leaked out.

Serena Conner was forcibly taken home by her parents, Liam Hugh went to the hospital to have his stomach pumped. As the substance he ingested was of unknown origin, blood tests were conducted after the stomach pump, tormenting him throughout the night.

Yumi Johnson was nowhere to be seen during the process, only his assistant was there.

The whole experience was excruciating, worsened by being punched and kicked in the abdomen, causing severe pain.

When he arrived home with his assistant, he entered the living room to find his daughter at home and all his luggage and belongings packed up and placed at the doorway.

"You’re back?" Hannah Johnson was eating breakfast, holding a piece of toast, chewing slowly.

"What do you mean by this?"

Liam Hugh was already in a very bad mood.

"Can’t you tell?" Hannah took another sip of milk.

Her bright face broke into a slight smile, "It obviously means..."

"I want you to leave!"

"How dare you!" Liam roared angrily, pulling at a facial wound, his expression twisting in pain.

"Kicking me out? On what grounds, where’s your mother?"

"It’s no use looking for her; my mother doesn’t want to see you at all." Hannah glanced at him, "And you, after doing such disgraceful, immoral acts, you still have the face to seek out my mother?"

"It really seems old age thickens the skin."

"Hannah Johnson!" Liam clutched his abdomen, "Don’t go too far!"

"Who is the one going too far!" Hannah put down her breakfast, "Liam Hugh, it’s true that William looks a bit harsh, but over the years, whenever there was something you could handle, didn’t he always think of you first, taking care of your business? And you?"

"What did you do? You colluded with outsiders, framing your own cousin."

"Are you even human?"

"Whatever I am, it’s not up to some brat like you to criticize, and you think you can kick me out? Dream on!" Liam glared at the household staff, "Are you all dead? Stop gawking, move my luggage back to my room."

After his command, no one responded.

Liam’s face grew dark, "One by one, do none of you want to work anymore!"

"All these years, you rarely came home, all the household expenses were paid by me and my mother, you didn’t pay them a salary, why should they listen to you?" Hannah found it humorous.

"You like living outside, right? Since we’re mutually repulsive, it’s better..."

"You better get out now, otherwise I can’t even stomach my breakfast!"

Liam was furious.

And his assistant beside him kept his head down, not daring to speak.

This miss...

Her temper is famously fierce.

He was just a worker and didn’t dare to provoke her.

"Don’t just stand there, help Mr. Hugh throw his luggage out." As soon as Hannah’s words fell, a few housekeepers hurriedly moved the luggage out.

"Stop, what are you doing!" Liam felt his blood boiling, "Hannah Johnson, you are really growing too bold."

"No matter what you say, I’m still your father, this is my house, on what grounds do you kick me out!"

"Mr. Hugh, you must have forgotten." Hannah chuckled lowly, "When I came of age, Grandpa handed this house to me, the ground you’re standing on now..."

"Is my territory!"

"I’d advise you to be wise, leave on your own, to avoid tearing off each other’s faces. I’m afraid your old face won’t have anywhere else to go."

Liam was immediately furious.

Beaten by William Hale yesterday, attacked by three men, he was already frustrated. Seeing his own daughter now daring to flaunt power over him, he became even more infuriated.

He pushed away the assistant helping him and charged forward in several quick strides.

He wanted to kill this damn girl.

Tear her mouth apart.

"President Hugh!" The assistant couldn’t stop him, afraid that the father and daughter might really start a fight.

Hannah Johnson however stood unmoved, just as Liam approached the dining table, two men in black suddenly appeared from nowhere, grabbing his arms from both sides.

Liam, caught off guard, had his hands pinned behind his back.

His face "smashed—" squarely onto the dining table.

At that moment, Hannah Johnson suddenly picked up a steel knife lying nearby...

The stainless steel blade, brightly dazzling.
