Chapter 88: Blurred Vision

Li ZiChen saw the door to the room being opened and coming inside the place was none other than OuYang. He was holding to the bottle with a smile, finding the best liquor even though his problem hasn’t still taken care yet. As he sat down, he opened the bottle of liquor with a loud pop, pouring it to a new glass and then passing it politely toward Li ZiChen’s hand, "It’s a great drink," he said, explaining, "I had received it from a close friend of mine."

Li ZiChen took the glass, shaking it to his hand. His eyes were almost unreadable as he then brought the glass to his mouth, taking a gulp out of the glass before placing it down.

"Then... Mr Li—" OuYang started delightedly when Li ZiChen cut him off to speak first,

"I have a question that I’ve been wanting to check with you, OuYang," and when he spoke in such stern tone, even OuYang couldn’t help but look at him wearily. "I heard that you are close to a few people."

OuYang’s smile became wider, "Of course. If this is about my connection, you don’t have to worry Mr Li. I am extremely friendly with a lot of influential people which could also help you. They would be over the moon if I introduce them to you."

"Really," Li ZiChen chuckled but that smile wasn’t lively. It was a smile that seemed to only bloom between bloodlust, "Do you know these few people? TaLu, HangZhou, FaIn." He hesitated before adding, "Bai HaiZe."

And at this, OuYang’s face turned shocked. He sharply stared at Li ZiChen and questioned out loud, "Some of those names are my close friends from high school. Do you know them as well, Mr Li?"

Li ZiChen stifled his chuckle but his smile grew wicked. So it was true that OuYang doesn’t remember his victim but oh boy, he would remember the name of his wicked friends who he had hired to hurt AiLin back then in high school.

But that’s not all. OuYang had also remembered Bai HaiZe— the boy who was extremely important to AiLin back in her high school. Despite her gloomy days, she would always remember him well.

"I know a few, they work in pharmaceutical company while others are now starting a political campaigns, how could I not heard of their names?" Li ZiChen took another sip of the glass, being watched carefully under OuYang’s eyes. "I was wondering if those rumors were true."

"Rumors...?"

"About the drugs," he stated in a matter of fact tone and shrugged his shoulders, "There were a couple of drug junkies who had came to my area. I don’t particularly like those problem that drugs brought, especially how they would bring unnecessary attention to my group. The police and law enforcements would find the drugs as a perfect opportunity to drive Morningstar out of our area. Do you understand?" Li ZiChen looked up at him and tapped his finger dreadfully on the table.

"Oh," OuYang finally dropped his polite smile and showed a deep frown, "You are... worried about them coming after you?"

He had thought Li ZiChen came here because he wanted to strike a deal after seeing how successful he had became with his side jobs as blackmailers and drug sellers. But he didn’t expect that Li ZiChen would come here with such a weak worry.

Weak. Of course it was weak! Li ZiChen, the Boss of Morningstar group. Even the police are scared of Morningstar group, so how could he be here, explaining that he wants his area to be free from drugs because he feared the authorities?

How weak. How weak! OuYang gritted his jaw, his anger now apparent. He disliked the businessmen like Li ZiChen who would still pretend to play "fair" games when thy could have cut short routes and make more incomes. As much as he wanted to mock Li ZiChen for the unfounded fear and told him that when one has money, no one would dare to cross them— not even the authorities, he swallowed his words. He couldn’t possibility offend Li ZiChen now and could only do his best to sway Li ZiChen’s mind.

And why aren’t the drugs working?

"I can assure you," OuYang spoke firmly, "There won’t be any incriminating evidence that would cause the police to sniff our plan. I have done this so many times before, Mr Li. I assure you that as long as you work together with me, what we will achieve is more important than such unnecessary details. I’m talking about thousands to millions of dollars per week! In a month a billion won’t be a mere dream."

Li ZiChen furrowed his eyebrows, "Do you think I’m poor, OuYang? If it’s only that much money, then I have enough in my pocket. But I am curious, how did you manage to drive all the authorities from coming to Sparrow Nightclub? This place is as famous as it is already. It’s surprising how you would be able to keep this news from flying to their ears."

"Oh that’s because I have a friend, I pay him handsomely and in return, he would help me back," said OuYang with a grin. "Not only that, I have enough power in my hands. I have videos of their children playing here doing illegal activities that are even more dangerous than what I’ve done. If they are going to throw me off, those parents would have to push their beloved children to be sentences."

Li ZiChen’s expression was already unreadable but there was a blazing burning anger surging inside his bright brown eyes as he stared at the glass of alcohol that he had dawned. OuYang was really the piece of trash that he had always been since young. Was this perhaps how he had also sold his own mother to prostitution so he could garner more money? Such a man wouldn’t hesitate to do worse things to people he sees as his cash cows.

Money was so important to him that he would die for it. Li ZiChen found this funny as he began to let out a laughter that confused the man.

"You’re really amusing," remarked Li ZiChen sincerely. "What is it that you dream to be, OuYang?"

"Someone rich," OuYang replied at once. "With a lot of money to the point that I couldn’t count! My fear is to lose all my money you see."

Oh how kind, OuYang even told him his deepest fear, that was touching, mocked Li ZiChen in his head. Then suddenly his vision became a blur and he smiled upon feeling this.

"I feel dizzy," Li ZiChen uttered without a hesitation. He pressed his forehead with his hand, "I think I would need to take a bit of rest."

"Oh dear, would you like me to get you a drink?" OuYang said with worry but Li ZiChen could see his excited smile upon seeing that the drugs he had diluted so well in the alcohol was working now.

Li ZiChen considered how clever this weasel was. He had made sure those who came to him would hear how the alcohol bottle had popped, telling them that it’s new in front of their face but truth was, the alcohol itself was made with drug before being sealed, thus no matter how new it is, it was already contaminated.

Without answering, he watched as OuYang rushed outside the room with a grin, calling a woman to serve Li ZiChen. Though he hadn’t managed to convince Li ZiChen, after the drugs and the playtime, he would surely find himself agreeing to his plans sooner or later. What he didn’t know was that he had played with fire and that fire had fallen into his trap on purpose.
