Chapter 79: Nasty Man
Chapter 79: Nasty Man
The bouncers of the nightclub immediately raised his hand to stop AiLin as she reached the entrance. Her eyes made a brief contract with the young man who had been staring at her while pushing his silver framed eyeglass up to his nose. She then saw that young man, XanXi, being pulled by AnHan who had rounded his arms around his neck to re-enter the nightclub.
"What a mess," said AiLin as she turned back her gaze to the bouncer who had demanded her name, "I was invited here so I clearly didn’t expect that I would be treated so terribly. OuYang, your boss was the one who said that he wished to see me, are you sure you can hold me back like this?"
The bouncer’s eyes widened as if he had just dropped his heart and turned to AiLin who was standing with her arms crossed, beside her was Canary who was dressed in champagne colored dress, staring at her nails that she had just sharpened.
"You are the Boss’s guest?" The bouncer inquired only to hear AiLin clicking her tongue.
"What does it look like to you?" AiLin then pushed his hand away, "Move before you spoil my mood even further. Once I see your Boss, I will also ask him to readjust his teachings. It seems to me that he’s incapable of choosing a better equipped bouncer."
Knowing how OuYang’s personality was, the bouncer didn’t manage to hold back AiLin from entering the nightclub, knowing well that if AiLin was pissed off and told this matter to OuYang, he would be receiving OuYang’s wrath which was more troublesome than letting a few strangers inside the nightclub without permission.
AiLin turned back to see that the bouncer had made a call with his earpiece, relying the news that both her and Canary have arrived to the nightclub. She smiled and spoke to her best friend, "That was easy. This nightclub’s security is really something," she pressed her tone at the end of her word with a mocking tone. "It feels too weak to consider that a lot of children from wealthy family would frequently visit this place."
"That’s the charm," responded Canary who was looking at AiLin’s bright red gown, finding it gorgeous on her friend. She then shifted her gaze inside the nightclub as they were greeted with the loud blasting music, a Dj who was dancing on top of the stage in between two strippers who were dancing on the poles. "This place’s lack of security is found welcoming by the wealthy children. They find it appetizing as they could do whatever they want, from things that are tiny bad to the ones that are outright illegal."
"Like the drugs you mentioned," AiLin hummed she then pulled out a coin and flipped it between her thumbs, rolling it nimbly from one gap of her finger to the others. "This sounds like the OuYang I know."
"How bad do you think he is as a person?" Canary inquired her who hummed in return.
"He was someone who was desperate for money," AiLin responded as they pushed their ways between people, walking to the second floor, "He would do anything for money. I heard it’s because he was born poor and being in a school filled with children who were far too wealthy for their own good, he was quite envious of them. One day he decided to do whatever the rich kids of the school asked him to. It was harmless at first until he participate in things that people shouldn’t."
"I read the documents about him, how he sold alcohols and nicotine patches," Canary responded. "But in the ranks of people you wanted to ruin, his rank is higher than Lu Ping."
"That’s because he deserved it," AiLin grabbed the coin and clenched it tight between her palms. The more she tightened her grip, the more painful the blunt sides of the coin pressed her skin but she felt this was necessary to keep her sober from her thoughts and moods that would sway to unnecessary stress. This should keep her awake from her constant mood swings. "Lu Ping was indeed the one who had paid him to assault me. He was also the one who had gathered the boys to participate in that action but thats not all."
Before Canary could question the continuity of that story, they were stopped by a body that was dressed in a brown suit. A bright crimson necktie appeared right before AiLin’s dark eyes and she lifted her foxy gaze to meet the familiar face of OuYang. He looked the same in high school. A young man with a nasty grin that pulled his hollow cheekbone, eyebrows that were missing its ends and a familiar cross piercing on his ears.
For someone without a God he pretend to be a devout.
"You must be Canary?" OuYang reached out his hand toward her and AiLin only stared at it impassively. There was a large wound on his inner palm and seeing it made her laugh.
OuYang still didn’t recognize her face. It wasn’t only because the nightclub was too dark for them to see really well but also because he never really bothered himself to ever remember the faces of his own victims. Thus he wasn’t aware of AiLin, or more accurately, he didn’t remember what he had done to her or who she was.
AiLin lifted her face to him, the darkness in her eyes had completely overrode her mind. Her smile became charming but the more it sparkles, something grim emerge and spread over her heart.
When she was with Li ZiChen, these murky emotions faded but... she didn’t afford a time for her to think about that man.
Light never once appreciated her but the darkness of her mind never fail to support her.
"I’m Canary’s Boss," AiLin answered. She reached out her hand to return OuYang’s handshake, gripping it tightly, "The name is AiLin."
"AiLin?" OuYang repeated with his eyes slightly widened.
Canary who saw the change of expression on OuYang’s face felt her heart thump as she guessed that OuYang must have remembered AiLin by now. If it wasn’t by face, then he should remember her name. She glanced at AiLin, wondering what her friend was thinking by giving her direct name when it would cause OuYang to be more wary of them and put a halt on their plan.
