Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 68: Controlled Reaction
Chapter 68: Controlled Reaction
The tension in the room finally broke like a dam. Mrs Ruo was grinning wildly as she stared back at AiLin. Yesterday after she had been greatly embarrassed, she was so upset that she had used her husband’s men to find informations regarding AiLin. Although almost all information of AiLin was greatly suppressed by Li ZiChen, he had made sure that people of Hua Family could access the real informations regarding AiLin. About how she is actually the eldest daughter of Hua Valentine who was hidden abroad.
This "Real" informations that Li ZiChen allowed to leak wasn’t actually the real entire truth of what had happened, but he knew this would have happened— that one day someone from Hua Family would learn about AiLin’s real identity and became so upset that they would use her to get back at Mrs Hua and her family members. He didn’t do it out of spite however. Just because he wanted other Hua Family members to come to the family and do what Mrs Ruo was currently doing, he had done it so he could weed out the rotten roots. So he could find out who was the enemies inside the Hua Family and who they would be up against in the future.
AiLin eyed Mrs Ruo and then her frown tightened as when she looked askance, she noted the grin that were pulling the corners of Li ZiChen’s lips.
It was as if, he knew this would happen.
She frowned but she ignored him and turned to her family who was still as still as calm water. But that was only outwardly as AiLin saw each of them holding a frown between their eyebrows excluding Mrs Hua whose poker face had been trained since childhood.
"Wench?" Li ZiChen repeated, "Who dared to say such words?" His chin lifted upward to eye Mrs Ruo. "Are you saying that the woman beside me a wench?"
Mrs Ruo had been in anger when she stomped her way to Hua Valentine’s house. She wasn’t aware of the additional car in front of the entrance as she was someone who wouldn’t necessarily look at cars because of her haughty pride. That was why she didn’t note that there was also be an extra person in the room, because her focus was always on Hua Valentine so she could have all the perfect chances of getting one over Hua Valentine.
What she did not expect was that she would be seeing Li ZiChen, the son of the Li Family. The eldest son who was particularly known to be unhinged. People say that while other families were feared because of their wealth and power, Li Family had always been feared for their powerful backers, especially the fact that they were well connected to the Yakuzas of Japan.
"What are you doing here... young master Li?" Mrs Ruo inquired with a stifled tone. "I didn’t know there would be guests..."
"He came here with me," AiLin spoke up and when Li ZiChen turned his gaze to her, his smile dropped briefly after seeing that her gaze was cold toward him. She ignored their brief exchange of glances and turned back at Mrs Ruo, "I have heard about having aunties from the start but I didn’t expect them to be so..."
Mrs Ruo was more upset after seeing AiLin’s face and seeing the entire similarities that were so uncannily evident to Mrs Hua’s face.
"So what?" Mrs Ruo slapped her other side of the folding fan to her palms, "Speak."
"So rude," AiLin remarked, "I believe in respecting the elders but you don’t seem to share that opinion."
Mrs Ruo huffed. In the end, AiLin is as powerless as her mother. Mrs Hua might be frightened by everyone. It’s evident in her business how most of her business partners and those subordinates of hers that would always speak in the upmost respect. But in the end that tiger is without a tooth. While she is respected by others, the real power lies on the hand of Elder Hua. As Elder Hua had always been partial to her as well, Hua Valentine would always be beneath her. No matter how powerful could Hua Valentine be, in the end she is still someone that Hua Valentine has to respect.
That goes the same to her children including AiLin who had been hidden for decades.
"You will know later that age isn’t the only thing needed for others to respect someone," commented Mrs Ruo who then narrowed her eyes sharply, "I still remember what you have done to me the other day AiLin. So today I’m going to ask your mother to teach you a lesson. It’s good isn’t it? To teach your daughter a lesson after meeting her for the first time in twenty years."
AiLin hummed. So it seemed this woman’s wish was to make her birth mother scold her in front of others. Seeing that she claims to be her grandmother’s subtitle, she also believe that Mrs Hua Valentine would always have to follow her orders including to scold her daughter.
This would make her resent her birth mother and embarrassed her, quite a clever plan she has there.
"What have you done?" Mrs Hua turned to AiLin who was in a ponder.
She turned to look at Mrs Hua, wondering what answer does the woman would like to hear. All through out her life, she had grown up to read Mrs Jiang’s expression, knowing when Mrs Jiang wants her to impress the guests or apologize on her sake. She was far too familiar so she also wondered if what Mrs Hua wanted was for her to bend her neck and apologize to Mrs Ruo.
The two shared a glance and then Mrs Hua softened the corners of her eyes. It was a slight difference but AiLin could see it clear like a newly washed mirror.
"I didn’t do anything," AiLin responded with a smile. She then turned toward Mrs Ruo, "I didn’t think I have done anything rude towards you Mrs Ruo."
"What?" Mrs Ruo frowned and anger came over her.
"There you heard it," Samuel said with his hands raised, he was about to make a justice pose by striking his fist downward in excitement but stopped midway, "My sister didn’t do anything to you. So you can leave now if your questions had been answered. We need to attend to a more important conversation."
