Chapter 213: Approacing Unapporachable
Chapter 213: Approacing Unapporachable
FangMin had been annoyed the entire week. It was as if the world had been going against her as another scandal was dragged out by her name about the wealthy son of a conglomerate who had divorced his wife with the reason of liking her. That dumb man hadn’t only openly admitted to cheating but had also sold out her name to his wife, a well known socialite who spends her time in Fashion shows.
"FangMin, would you like another tea?" asked the assistant who had just entered the car but FangMin was so displeased by everything that she shot a glare at the assistant and the tea that she held.
"You know that I’m trying to lose weight. Stop trying to buy me anything too sweet with such extra calories!" She then turned to her phone and tapped the screen with her long fingernails, angrily punching every keyboard, "What the fuck is he on?! After causing me such scandal now he’s crying to me because he has to pay a heavy divorce settlement?! I don’t care! It’s all this doofus fault."
The assistant flinched slightly at FangMin’s sharp glare, hurriedly pulling the tea away as if it had personally offended her.
"I also have the unsweetened one," she stammered, but FangMin was already engrossed in her phone, her nails clicking against the screen in rapid succession.
Her expression twisted with rage as she scrolled through the countless articles dragging her name into yet another ridiculous scandal. Every headline was more infuriating than the last, enough to make her stomp her feet and kicked it angrily:
"The Famous actress strike again! Another husband stolen? CEO Away From Wife!"
"Socialite in Shocking Divorce Drama! Is the actress FangMin the real Third Party?"
"Billionaire’s Wife Speaks Out, ’She (FangMin) can’t stop herself around anyone’s husband!’"
FangMin scoffed, tossing her phone onto the car seat angrily before pinching the bridge of her nose. "God, these people are brain dead! So what if he cheated with me?! That fucker chose me because you’re such a boring bitch and a haughty one who wouldn’t fulfill your husband’s need!"
The assistant, wisely deciding to remain silent, watched as FangMin inhaled deeply before grabbing her phone again.
"Mr. Yan, I truly sympathize with what you’re going through, but have you considered how much worse this has been for me? My name is being unfairly dragged through your mess, and now major brands are hesitating to work with me. Do you have any idea how devastating that is? I’ve barely slept, I’ve been crying nonstop, this entire situation is destroying me. And the worst part? I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong, yet I’m the one being punished for it. Please, I’m begging you, talk to your wife. Make her understand that if she keeps slandering me, I’ll have no choice but to take legal action. I really don’t want things to escalate, but I can’t just sit here and let myself be bullied like this... I’m at my breaking point."
She let the message sit for a moment before sending it, a small, knowing smirk playing at the corner of her lips. Now Mr Yan wouldn’t want to hurt her, as she had pretended to be a damsel in distress and that man has the complex of wanting to be the savior for her. He would now be cleaning her name without her needing to do anything while losing his own marriage.
Once she’s bore enough, she would simply block him and move on.
After hitting send with an extra forceful tap, she let out a frustrated sigh before turning back to her assistant.
"Tsk," she commented under her breaths. "You ruined your own marriage, and now you want me to help you out of your mess? Are you actually insane? I don’t owe you a damn thing, and I’m not about to save you from your pathetic sob story. Pay your settlement and leave me out of this."
"Tell PR to clean this up," she then ordered, crossing her arms. "And make sure it’s clear that I never even looked at that idiot."
"But did you make sure there’s no evidence?" the assistant inquired quickly.
"Duh, who do you think you’re talking to? I’m not an idiot like that pathetic fool. Unlike him, I know how to cover my tracks. There is no texts, no photos, no proof. If I ever decide to play, I make sure there’s no record of it."
It was the truth that she had been with Mr. Yan, but not because of his money or his looks. FangMin never cared for such trivial things. What fascinated her was something far more intoxicating.
She had a habit, or no, it would be better to call it as an addiction. The moment she saw a woman who was secure, glowing with love for her husband, something inside her sparked. It started as intrigue, a curiosity she couldn’t shake off. But soon, it twisted into something darker like an obsession. She wanted to be the one adored, the one cherished. And the only way to feel that was to take what belonged to someone else.
That was how it always began. She would slip into their lives like a shadow, whispering just the right words, weaving herself into the cracks they didn’t even know existed. And before they realized it, their perfect little love stories crumbled at her feet.
It was no surprise, then, that FangMin had earned a reputation. She was the silent storm that tore through marriages, the name whispered in scandal. Her coworkers had long since learned their lesson, no one dared introduce their partner to her, no matter how confident they were in their love. Because they all knew the truth: if FangMin set her sights on someone, she wouldn’t stop until she had them.
And once she did? She never stayed. After all, she wasn’t looking for love. She was only looking to win.
"Whatever," said FangMin annoyed, "Don’t forget to bring my coa-" as she was going to walk out of her car, she noticed the smooth black imported car that had stopped in front of her black van. The car was a famous brand, one that would only make a single car per year with how costly each parts needed to build the car. A lot of businessmen she had affair with would always dream about having this car and she had seen the logo for far too many times that she could immediately tell that this car was deadly expensive.
The question is, why was this expensive car here?
Just then someone stepped out of the car, what appeared first was the long and thin fair legs and the short heels. Her dress was short and black, modest and elegant while her hair slightly curled left on her shoulders, AiLin’s smile was beaming as she walked out of the car, looking at the person inside the car with a lovely smile as if her feet had floated to heaven.
Then the man inside the car had reached out his hand, pulling her waist back into the car and pushed his face to her stomach. She seemed to giggle at his behavior while the man gently pulled her dress down that had been lifted and then waved his hand back at her, wishing her a great journey.
AiLin didn’t move for a while, waving her hand at the door, saying goodbye with her smile blooming on her face.
That face struck FangMin at once, her eyes that were narrowed widened and then turned glittery as she saw how happy AiLin was.
FangMin’s breaths hitched for a moment as she watched AiLin, her lips twitching slightly in a smirk before she quickly masked it with an innocent expression.
AiLin had never been this kind of woman. She wasn’t the type to glow with warmth, to laugh so freely. No, AiLin had always been dull, forgettable, gloomy, even. The kind of woman who never knew how to sweeten her words, never bothered to coax a man properly, never understood how to keep him entertained.
Yet now she could be so happy, smiling widely, like she had discovered something, or someone, worth living for.
She had always been the perfect example of why men strayed.
FangMin had believed that AiLin would be nothing but a shadow, one of those women whose husbands lost interest, whose love stories faded into quiet, inevitable endings. But now... now she was smiling. Blooming.
And that could only mean one thing.
Someone had made her happy. Someone had made her feel special.
FangMin’s heart raced immediately, her grin stretched over her lips, not with excitement, but with something much darker. That kind of happiness... it wasn’t meant for AiLin. It was meant for her.
This was what she wanted, a man who can even turn a woman like AiLin to be so alive, something she needed.
Her fingers curled slightly, nails digging into her palm as she tilted her head, watching. Who was it? Who is this man?! Who had changed AiLin?
Who had made her feel loved?
Wealthy, seemingly charming enough to charm AiLin, this was someone she wants to know, someone she want to steal.
Back to the present, now FangMin’s eyes intently studied AiLin. She wondered if she could mimic AiLin to a T would soon that man fall for her? After all she was more charming, she is also more knowing about a man’s need, and could replace AiLin easily.
Just wait. Just wait for her, smiled FangMin.
AiLin on the other hand watched FangMin’s behavior an it clicked to her that perhaps FangMin’s real target wasn’t her but maybe... Li ZiChen?
