Chapter 133: I Got In?

The next morning, AiLin woke up with a wide yawn on her mouth. She stood up, taking the coins from her bag and then stuffing it inside the piggy bank she had gotten before. She smiled seeing how the piggy bank was getting heavier by seconds. Then when she walked out, she saw Li ZiChen who was preparing the breakfast. The smell of butter waft to her nose so sweetly, causing her stomach to growl for food.

Li ZiChen heard the loud growl that made him to snap his eyes toward her room, when their gazes met, she looked aside in embarrassment, scolding her loud stomach for enhancing the entire world to hear of her hunger.

He smiled, greeting her with a gentle voice, "Good morning, did you sleep well?"

She gulped and nodded, "I did..."

Mornings like these aren’t too bad, thought AiLin. The morning where she would wake up greeted by the sound of pan and crackling fire, the gentle ray of shine through the gaps of the curtain shining in toward her, and then the handsome man who would look at her with such tender gaze, gently smiling and seeing her like a beautiful sunflower.

She sat down on the chair, plopping her bottom to see Li ZiChen who was pouring soup into the wooden bowl, doing everything so meticulously.

"You’re cooking?"

"Nanny Po has gone back to my parent’s villa. They’re back from Japan to stay here for a while," answered Li ZiChen as he placed the bowl in front of her.

"Oh, your parents," she muttered while looking at the wooden bowl. She had heard about them, a loving couple. They were so famous in the past for Li ZiChen’s mother was a singer of millennia, marrying the wealthy son of Li Family. Rumors had it that the two were so in love that Li ZiChen’s father never once left his mother’s side and would always visit all her singing activities, never missing one even when he’s ill. It’s a sweet romance, something that she knew Li ZiChen would love to have as well.

Someone like Mei Hua would fit him...

"Mei Hua isn’t a part of the family," Li ZiChen answered and she looked at him in surprise as she had thought about it in her head, so why could he hear her?

"You’re muttering everything you’re thinking," he said before chuckling as he reached out his hand and wiped the drop of soup under her lips. "Mei Hua was JingYi’s childhood friend. I have discussed what had happened to him and this is what he had to say to me," he then pushed his phone to the dining table and pressed a button on the voice recording. From the phone, they both heard Li JingYi’s voice that was sullen as though he had just went through a horrible breakup.

’...when I checked my phone with TaiYo’s help, I realized that there was message sent from my phone to AiLin. I confronted Mei Hua about it and she broke down to me. Everything was as you said Brother, she loved you and she wanted to make sure AiLin wouldn’t steal her position. I’m sorry for the problems she had caused to you especially with your... trauma,’ Li JingYi’s voice was so small that AiLin felt bad for the young man as he seemed to truly believe Mei Hua as a great woman with a kind heart. Now that the truth has been revealed, Li JingYi was defeated and couldn’t quickly pull himself together, not when he had loved Mei Hua from his childhood.

Li JingYi continued, ’From now on Mei Hua isn’t a friend of mine either, I’ve cut ties with her. I’m sorry again brother.’

"Even though it wasn’t his fault," she muttered with a sigh, "I feel bad for JingYi."

"I’ve talked to him that I don’t see it as his mistake or responsibility. Partly it was my fault for not saying it outright the moment I noticed Mei Hua’s interest in me," said Li ZiChen as he placed his head on his arm, propping it on top of the table, "But dont worry about him. JingYi tend to get defeated for a while but he’s good at getting back on his feet, even better than me that’s for sure."

She chuckled, "Did you have a terrible time of getting yourself together?"

"I did, I had a long rebellious phase toward my family," Li ZiChen however didn’t let her ask as he continued, "So what is your plan today?"

"I would probably do no..." AiLin’s voice hung before she can end her conversation. Her phone had rang which made her frown. She look at it and was surprised to see that it’s as an unknown number. She felt a little suspicious that someone would call her phone knowing well that she has plenty of enemies. She looked at Li ZiChen for permission and he nodded,

"Pick it up, don’t worry about it."

When she picked up and put the phone to her left ear, she heard the voice from the other side of the call asking, "Am I in contact with Miss AiLin?"

"Yes, that is me," she answered, "Is there anything you need?"

"Thank heaven! We finally can get in contact with you. I’ve been calling you for the past two days but your number has been declining the calls."

AiLin frowned and she realized that while she was having a time of non productivity, she did received some calls but didn’t have the energy to answer them or the will to do so. A bit embarrassed, she rubbed her cheeks, "I wasn’t in touch for the past few days, to whom am I talking with?"

"I am the writer of the movie ’Death by your hands’, I have come in contact with you to rely the good news that we have chosen you as the lead actress of the movie! We are glad to have someone with your talent to contribute to the movie! You’re the star we’re looking for but I couldn’t find any agency written in your introduction page, so I would like to ask you about it and what time we could perhaps meet to discuss the project."

Oh... what?

She made it in?

With that useless acting?

AiLin’s mouth was open as she stared at Li ZiChen who was smiling while looking at her with titled head.
