Mrs Fox Heinous Revenge: Can You Love A Villainess like Me? -
Chapter 127: Failure To Teach
Chapter 127: Failure To Teach
Born from a wealthy family, Mrs Jiang has always put herself first before anyone. What drives her to happiness was the sensation of success. No matter what she needs to do, if it can bring her to the brink of success, Mrs Jiang would make the impossible possible.
AiLin was sure love was never a vocabulary in Mrs Jiang’s dictionary. She doubted that the old witch even loved Mr Jiang as she pretended to. In fact, she would always look at him with a glare of hatred whenever he let his family mock her.
So why?
Mr Jiang wasn’t the most handsome young man but his wealth and achievements should be enough to make Mrs Jiang swear her loyalty. She wasn’t so stupid as to have an affair simply to feel pleasure, as she didn’t want anything to destroy her reach to her dreamy success. So why? Why her uncle? The man who was always known to be a womanizer and someone who is an ultimate disgrace?
She couldn’t understand it. She thought she should be able to understand it but she couldn’t. AiLin eventually stopped trying to figure things out and instead find the answer directly from these people. She also realized that there seems to be more than what she could see, whether it’s about the Jiang Family or her missing memories.
"They’re here," Li ZiChen whispered, his voice echoed on her ears.
She turned to the stage and smiled as she saw Senior Mr Lu who seemed to be taken aback. His face turned paler by seconds as he talked to his secretary, he even raised his voice that caused a loud commotion on the other side of the stage.
AiLin grinned as she watched the group realizing that the contract to the land had disappeared from their hands. Mrs Lu who was too shocked had fallen to her knees, almost fainting while Mrs Jiang’s face was horribly flushed red as embarrassment and shame colored her face. She turned around to see the eyes of the guests that were questioning their sudden look of surprise and despair.
Meanwhile, Senior Mr Jiang had gotten into a fight with Senior Mr Lu. He held the other man by the collar, demanding for an answer, "How could you lose it?! That document cannot just be lost!"
"Hehe," AiLin let out the bubble of chuckles from her lips. She walked forward, stepping out from the room to see Mr Jiang who was yelling for an explanation while Senior Mr Lu grew defensive.
"I don’t know! It was supposed to be in the right place— someone had stolen it! I’m sure someone did."
Mrs Lu then yelled at another staff, "Check the house’s CCTV! There should be an answer as to who had stolen the video."
AiLin who had seen them panic couldn’t help but relish their panic with a wild grin. She almost wants to jump in joy but felt Li ZiChen’s hands around her waist, pulling her back gently. He then nudged, "You’re too close to the railings."
"Oh, can we go down?" She said with a wider smile, "I want to see their despair even closer."
"Sure," Li ZiChen agreed at once. He let her walk first, his eyes scanning around her surroundings as she walked down the staircase, noticing Su HaiTan whose eyes were glued at her, never once blinking, as if fearing to miss even a single second of her presence. Seeing this, he narrowed his eyes, walking beside AiLin to hide her appearance from Su HaiTan whose eyes locked into him a couple of seconds until they reached in front of the stage.
AiLin turned at Jiang NianNian who was just explained by the staff that the land contract had been stolen by someone. When Jiang NianNian lifted her face that was marred in horrible disappointment and distress, she found AiLin who was looking at them with a smile.
Jiang NianNian muttered, "What are you laughing at?!"
AiLin stared at her as she had caused Mrs and Mr Jiang’s eyes to fall on her.
"Laughing?" AiLin hummed, "No, I wasn’t laughing. I was just wondering what could have happened that made such a great celebration to be put on hold."
"This is none of your business, young lady," said Mrs Jiang with a clipped tone, angrily glaring at AiLin because not only was this young girl looking so similar to her hated fake daughter, but also the fact that AiLin had slapped her during Jiang NianNian’s birthday party before.
"I don’t have a business here?" She hummed and turned to Li ZiChen, "As someone who would be investing her money to the project, I can’t have a say or question anything about the project? Is this right, ZiChen?"
"Of course it’s not," ZiChen answered, his eyes only on her and he turned to the Jiang Couple, "I can take a guess, you lost your contract papers?"
Mr Lu who was always impressed by Li ZiChen was startled and spoke up, "H- How do you know, Mr Li?" B
Li ZiChen crossed his arms and spoke faintly, "Haven’t you heard of the rumors?"
"Rumors? What rumors? W- what did you hear, Mr Li?" Jiang NianNian snapped, her hands reaching out to Li ZiChen only for AiLin to swat it aside.
She doesn’t want any woman to touch Li ZiChen anymore. She had seen how he washed his hands until his skin was peeled, she doesn’t want that he gets hurt again, especially not by someone like Jiang NianNian.
Jiang NianNian was surprised and then turned to angrily glare at AiLin who had pushed her hands aside.
"Rumors about a young woman named Miss Lu Ping who was going around to sketchy loan sharks. She said she is in need of a large amount of money to leave the country as soon as possible. She needed a large loan and so the loan sharks demand for her to put a deposit. Not long after that she came with a land deal."
AiLin saw how quick Mrs Lu’s face turned white and how Senior Mr Lu seemed so speechless that he fell backward while holding tight to the back of his neck that had burned in a sharp ache.
"Yes, I have heard of that rumor too," AiLin muttered out. She furrowed her eyebrows, exaggerating her concern as she sloped her eyebrows and bite her thumb. Then she yelled out as if she was shuddering from a sudden fear as a thought passed into her mind. "How scary but does this mean this project is called off? But what about the investments that all the guests in this party hall have made? Are they to be reduced to nothing?"
She had spoke loud enough for the bustling room to hear. The guests who had invested their money were urgently looking forward to see their investment flourishing but now to hear that all their money was gone for good, the mobs became angered and they were quick to speak out their frustration.
"Senior Mr Lu! We need an explanation!"
"That was the last money my grandmother had left for me in her will! Mr Jiang you told me that this will be a success!"
"Give me back our money! Give it back!"
"I am thoroughly disappointed by you Mr Jiang. This is our last time seeing each other."
"Mrs Jiang! I was a fool to believe in your scam!"
Jiang NianNian was near to the stage so she was easily pushed by the angry mob who disregarded her presence, moving forward to rush at the two couples for an explanation while they demanded for their money.
Senior Mr Jiang was devastated but he didn’t want to shoulder the burden of paying all the investment since most of them have been used for the component of the constructions. They were too eager to build the residential complex, believing that they could simply sign the land contract later on so they could flex on their success.
But now that greediness of them had bit them back, AiLin found everything ironic but at the same time delightful to her ears.
Mrs Lu who was on the ground, despairing over her family and her daughter who had stolen the papers that would have allowed them to reach to wealthier rank was too stunned to say a single word. She then saw a hand reaching out in front of her, finding AiLin who was looking at her with a calm smile.
AiLin bent her knees and sat in front of the older woman, "I wonder what you will do now, Mrs Lu. That contract has fallen to the hands of the loan sharks, it will be impossible to retrieve them. Jiang Family wouldn’t really bear the burn as much as you do, even if you declare bankruptcy it will still not be enough to cover your mistakes."
Mrs Lu looked at her in panic. At loss, the older woman can only cried, "W- We really don’t have anything to do with this, Miss Hua... can you help us? Please..."
"I can help you," AiLin said with a soft smile, "But let’s see. I don’t help because I simply want to."
"If it’s anything I can do—"
"—I like that earrings of yours," AiLin said, "Now that your daughter had stolen something from you, don’t you agree that stealing is bad?"
"Pardon?" Mrs Lu was at loss but she quickly removed her earrings and passed it to AiLin’s hands. "I- If this is enough for you to help me— I promise I will do everything you want Miss Hua... whatever it is."
AiLin took the earrings and juggled it between her fingers, "That’s why Miss Lu, you shouldn’t have believed your daughter so much and forgive her when she stole something precious of someone else. Since you didn’t scold her, she didn’t learn her lessons and now you’re paying for it."
She then dropped the earrings to the ground, "I don’t feel like helping anymore and I don’t take something that had been dirtied by someone else. Good luck, Mrs Lu."
