Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Grandma Falls Ill
In the bathroom, Su Mu was washing her hands at the sink when Fu Shinian poured out the water but did not leave afterward.
Su Mu could feel his gaze remaining on her the entire time, making her slightly nervous. Her hands moved faster as she wanted to leave this somewhat dangerous place quickly.
But Fu Shinian made the first move.
At that moment, Su Mu stopped what she was doing, not knowing how to react. He stood close behind her, his hands placed on her waist over the clothing that was neither thin nor thick, she could still feel the warmth of his body temperature.
By the time she came to her senses, Su Mu thought she at least needed to turn off the tap, as it was quite wasteful. But just as she raised her hand to do so, Fu Shinian quickly turned her around. In the next second, before Su Mu had a chance to clearly see his expression, he had already bowed his head and fiercely kissed her.
Su Mu instinctively wanted to push him away, but he effortlessly pinned her hands behind her back. He advanced like a conquering army, not allowing her any room to retreat.
"Open your mouth!" he commanded, biting her lower lip.
Feeling pain, Su Mu opened her mouth to say something, but he took advantage of the moment to enter, denying her any opportunity to speak...
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but Su Mu’s entire body had weakened, all her weight resting in Fu Shinian’s hands. She could vaguely hear the sound of the running water behind her, but she no longer cared about it. If she let Fu Shinian continue, Grandma and Auntie Wang might very well guess what was happening.
She wanted to persuade him to stop, but Fu Shinian didn’t give her a chance to speak, kissing her fiercely, as if the world was ending in the next second.
It was only when Fu Shinian stopped that Su Mu realized how important fresh air was. She breathed deeply, still trapped in his embrace. When she finally caught her breath and looked up at him, she saw that his eyes had never left her.
"Shinian..." Su Mu didn’t know what was going on with him, but felt he was troubled by something.
She thought Fu Shinian would say something, but he didn’t. He just hugged her, as if he had made some important resolution, then turned off the tap and left the restroom.
When Su Mu tidied up and walked out, she discovered that the elderly lady had already returned to her room and Auntie Wang was no longer busy in the kitchen. She was so embarrassed that she wanted to die. They had been in the restroom for so long and Grandma hadn’t come to ask; she surely knew what they had been doing inside.
How thick-skinned will she have to be to face Grandma tomorrow?
When Su Mu finished her bath and walked out of the bathroom, Fu Shinian had already laid down to rest. She watched him for a few seconds, then turned off the lights in the room and carefully slipped under the covers. After she had completed these actions, Su Mu silently let out a sigh of relief. Fu Shinian remained motionless, seeming to be truly asleep.
She glanced at him sideways, unable to really see anything in the dim light, but listening to his breathing made her feel at ease. Recalling the kiss in the restroom, Su Mu’s heartbeat still tended to quicken. He had never kissed her like he did today.
Trying to control herself from thinking too much about it, she closed her eyes quietly. That’s when Fu Shinian moved, gently turning to wrap his arms around her. Su Mu stiffened, thinking he wanted more, especially after what had happened in the bathroom.
But alas, he simply said softly:
"Sleep."
Clearly, Su Mu had also hoped for this, to have him hold her as she slept, but now that the dream was a reality, it felt so unreal. She was sure she wasn’t sleeping yet, but it was as if she was already in a dream.
Unsure of what time she had fallen asleep, but when Su Mu woke up, the sky was already slightly bright, and some light filtered through the not-so-heavy curtains.
She hadn’t woken up naturally; rather it was due to the tickling sensation caused by the person on top of her. She had assumed that since he hadn’t done anything the previous night, there wouldn’t be any more to it, but was surprised to be woken up by this so early in the next morning. Sensing his actions, Su Mu’s breathing couldn’t help but grow heavier, and the person on top of her became aware of her change, speaking with a smile:
"Awake?"
She softly acknowledged with a sentence, but had nothing more to say. She had intended to indulge him, but then suddenly remembered his leg injury and stopped his movements.
Fu Shinian lifted his head from her chest and looked at her:
"Don’t want to?"
Su Mu was already in a state of arousal, and it would have been untrue to say she didn’t want him. Moreover, she didn’t want to dampen Fu Shinian’s mood. Biting her lip and blushing, she said:
"You still have an injury on your leg, I... I’ll be on top."
In the dimly lit room, Su Mu could clearly hear every subtle sound, naturally including his light laughter. She felt somewhat annoyed, but Fu Shinian did not give her the chance to voice her dissatisfaction. He flipped over, instantly switching their positions, gently pressing her down toward himself and nibbling on her earlobe as he murmured:
"Don’t be as useless as last time..."
Unable to bear it any longer, Su Mu pounded on his chest, and he took the opportunity to catch her hand and bring it to his lips for a gentle kiss: "Begin your show, Mrs. Fu."
Just as they were about to reach the final moment, their bedroom door was suddenly knocked on urgently. Both froze, the lust in their intertwined gazes quickly fading away, replaced by anxiety and unease. Without any communication, Su Mu and Fu Shinian started dressing rapidly.
This was the old house, where Grandmother lived; at this early hour, no one would come to disturb them unless there was something wrong with the elderly lady.
Fu Shinian dressed first, and as he walked toward the door he glanced back at Su Mu, who was also ready.
Upon opening the door, Auntie Wang stood there anxiously:
"Mr. Fu, the old lady has a fever. I checked her temperature, and it’s almost 39 degrees."
Su Mu quickly approached:
"Did you call the doctor?"
"I did. The old lady didn’t want to at first, worried about disturbing your rest, but now I see the situation doesn’t look very good, so I made the call."
Fu Shinian briefly acknowledged and stepped out while also dialing Qiao Yu’s number. He succinctly explained the situation and ended the call efficiently. Su Mu, however, gently grasped his hand. He noticed this and stopped to look at her, whereupon she smiled faintly:
"Grandma will be fine."
Qiao Yu and the family doctor arrived almost simultaneously. The two of them checked on Grandmother in the room, while Fu Shinian and Su Mu sat in the living room waiting for news. For the first time, Su Mu realized that Fu Shinian’s hands could also be this cold. She understood his nervousness and anxiety, but it seemed there was nothing to do but wait, and she couldn’t even find words of comfort to say.
Because those would not be of any help to Fu Shinian, who was worried about his Grandmother’s condition.
When Qiao Yu and the doctor emerged from the room half an hour later, Fu Shinian stood up almost by reflex and walked over. He looked at Qiao Yu eagerly:
"How is she?"
