Chapter 630: Chapter 630 Going to the Appointment

Qiao Yu’s words pierced everyone’s hearts.

Over the past month, they’ve gone from initial anxiety, to later disappointment, to recent breakdown. Deep down, they all have prepared for the worst, and although they don’t want to admit it, they all believe that the chances of Qiqi returning are slim. Even if Qin Nianwan doesn’t harm Qiqi, she won’t bring her back either.

Everyone felt this way and was taking precautions and making preparations in this direction, worried about Fu Shinian and Su Mu’s relationship, and fearing that Su Mu might truly be unable to bear it as they thought.

Just when they focused all their attention on Su Mu, a dramatic turn occurred: Qiqi called, alive, telling them she was still there. They all felt played, probably because Qin Nianwan knew they would more or less give up within this month, and she used this timing to bring news of Qiqi.

Qiao Yu was right; when there was no news of Qiqi and she couldn’t be found, they tried their best but to no avail. But since Qin Nianwan now wants to meet, even set a location, they can’t let her take the initiative the day after tomorrow.

Otherwise, they’ll be completely passive.

Ji Nanfeng cursed, "If this woman falls into my hands, I’d chop her up."

Wei Shaoqin glanced at him indifferently:

"Get in line."

Ji Nanfeng was startled, then chuckled, "I have a feeling she’ll die terribly."

Jiang Bei stayed by Su Mu’s side, comforting her. Actually, there wasn’t much needed to say; just the news of Qiqi was a strong boost for Su Mu. Now, apart from looking more haggard than before, there was no other difference.

She remained silent. After Ji Nanfeng and Wei Shaoqin discussed ways to deal with Qin Nianwan, she finally spoke slowly:

"We can’t be so optimistic yet."

Everyone fell silent, and Fu Shinian was the first to agree: "Yes, it’s not optimistic. Not to mention anything else, just the fact that Qin Nianwan could hide with Qiqi for a month in a place we couldn’t find at all shows she wouldn’t meet us without any preparation. It won’t be as smooth as we imagine; she’s certainly waiting for us."

Jiang Bei was also worried. She looked at Su Mu:

"Although Qin Nianwan said to let you go alone, not to bring anyone, I feel you shouldn’t really do something foolish and adventurous. I even think she won’t bring Qiqi with her. If you go alone, you might lose everything."

"Relax," Su Mu interrupted Jiang Bei’s concerns, "Regarding Qiqi, I won’t go by myself. You’re right; Qin Nianwan might not bring Qiqi with her, but if she does, I alone wouldn’t be able to rescue Qiqi. I can’t go alone and watch her take Qiqi away from me again."

Jiang Bei breathed a sigh of relief:

"That’s good then."

"The police said they would cooperate," Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, "You don’t have to worry too much. As long as Qin Nianwan shows up, we’ll definitely find Qiqi."

Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian and nodded slightly.

The initial excitement and joy had passed. Now, every cell in Su Mu’s body was filled with a vague unease.

She believed Fu Shinian felt the same way.

Because this might be their only chance — it must succeed, and it cannot fail.

The two days of preparation allowed every detail to be double-checked, even to ensure nothing was amiss, the police and Rong Shen’s people went to the central bus station a day early to set up, ensuring that this time nothing would go wrong. When Su Mu drove out, Fu Shinian held her hand tightly, filled with anxiety.

Su Mu wasn’t anxious; she was eager, so she couldn’t really feel Fu Shinian’s emotions:

"If you have something to say, say it quickly. I’m worried that if we’re late, Qin Nianwan will leave."

Fu Shinian tightened his grip on her hand:

"I’m not far from you. There are people all around us, but ultimately, they aren’t right beside you. You still need to be cautious and make sure nothing happens to you."

Su Mu nodded perfunctorily, "I know."

After saying that, she pulled her hand from Fu Shinian’s grip, got into the car, and within seconds started the engine and quickly disappeared from his sight.

Jiang Bei did not participate in this action. Although she was well capable, she was pregnant, and no one could guarantee what would happen today, so Jiang Bei couldn’t take such a risk. As she watched Fu Shinian standing there, staring at Su Mu’s departing figure, she spoke softly:

"Susu is just too anxious, but she’ll be careful about all that she should be. Even for Qiqi’s sake, rest assured."

Fu Shinian didn’t turn around and nodded slightly, "I should go too."

"Mm, be safe. Hopefully, when you come back this afternoon, I can hear Qiqi call me ’Xiaobei Mom’."

Fu Shinian turned to look at Jiang Bei, smiled, and then moved towards his car.

Qin Nianwan hadn’t told Su Mu what time to meet at the central bus station or given a specific time, so Su Mu arrived there early. After parking her car, she stood in the middle of the station square. She was wearing noticeable red clothing and stood at the most prominent spot, in the center of the square.

She didn’t know which of the passersby around her were people arranged by Fu Shinian, and she had no time or mood to care. She only wanted to know when Qin Nianwan would come and if she would bring Qiqi.

Thinking about possibly seeing Qiqi soon, Su Mu’s heart softened.

But as time ticked away, from morning to noon, Su Mu remained at the center spot, unmoved, worried that if she moved, Qin Nianwan might not see her. However, Qin Nianwan still hadn’t shown up.

When Su Mu’s phone rang, she answered almost immediately, without even looking at the caller ID:

"Qin Nianwan, I’m at the square. Where are you?"

Fu Shinian paused on the other end of the call:

"Susu, it’s me."

"Don’t call me now. If Qin Nianwan calls, I might miss it."

Su Mu hung up after speaking. Fu Shinian didn’t call back but texted a few seconds later: Go rest on the bench nearby. If Qin Nianwan truly wants to meet you, she’ll contact you even if you’re not there today.

Su Mu glanced at Fu Shinian’s text, and a few seconds later, she turned off her phone. However, she didn’t follow Fu Shinian’s advice and continued quietly standing there, not even aware of her legs’ numbness. She stubbornly believed Qin Nianwan would come and bring Qiqi.
