Chapter 564: Chapter 564: Years Have Passed, Feelings Remain Unchanged

Su Mu has known Fu Shinian for many, many years, and it seems that he has been smoking since the very beginning, so this habit has been around for many years.

Su Mu doesn’t know if it’s hard for others to quit smoking; she only had a habit for 2 years and found quitting completely to be a bit unbearable, so she can imagine what kind of torment Fu Shinian must endure to quit all at once.

In fact, she has never had such a requirement, so seeing Fu Shinian so frustrated at this moment, she felt somewhat reluctant:

"You can smoke, I won’t stop you."

"But I will stop myself." Fu Shinian said with a smile, pulling her into his arms:

"If it were just me, anything would be okay, I wouldn’t mind too much about the harm of smoking, but now it’s different, besides you, we also have Qiqi. I can’t guarantee that every time I hold her, I am freshly bathed and brushed with no scent of smoke. If I don’t do that, Qiqi would be exposed to third-hand smoke, the harm of which is evident. I have already owed her so much, how could I hurt her in such a silly way while I’m around?"

Any woman would feel warmth in her heart upon hearing this, and Su Mu was no exception, she smiled slightly in Fu Shinian’s arms:

"You’re so kind to Qiqi, I’m almost jealous."

"I am not good to you?"

"Good." Su Mu affirmed. "But every woman hopes their significant other treats them like a cherished child."

Fu Shinian kissed her forehead:

"Well, not to hide from you, I always feel like I am raising two daughters, a big daughter and a little daughter, so when the old lady asked me if there was a chance for a second child, I flatly refused. I already have two children, and that’s enough for me."

Su Mu playfully hit his chest:

"I am not your daughter."

"Now you don’t want me to pamper you as a daughter?"

Su Mu knew her statements were contradictory, so she just smiled slightly without saying more, and Fu Shinian did not continue either. The two remained silent for a long time until the conversation shifted back to Su Shiyue and Yu Qingzhou, Su Mu said:

"You’ve actually been seriously considering the words Shiyue just said, right?"

"You too?"

"Yes, after all, I also don’t quite believe that Yu Qingzhou has no feelings for Su Shiyue." Su Mu lightly said: "But this matter is indeed difficult to judge. If what Yu Qingzhou said is true, that he’s wanted Su Shiyue to live with him from the beginning, and after so many years not seeing each other, it’s very likely he might subconsciously blur the feelings Shiyue has for him, just wanting Shiyue to stay by his side, which isn’t impossible."

Fu Shinian was silent for a few seconds before speaking:

"I believe Yu Qingzhou has no intention of revenge."

"Why do you think so?"

Su Mu moved away from Fu Shinian’s embrace, looked at him, and he smiled lightly, ruffling her somewhat long hair and then turning back to look out the window. Su Mu stepped forward to stand beside him, quietly keeping him company.

"Shiyue’s concerns do make sense, but even if Yu Qingzhou wanted revenge, he shouldn’t choose Shiyue. Shiyue and I are both Shi Lihua’s children. Choosing me would give him a more vengeful pleasure. Moreover, when I went to Italy initially seeking cooperation with him, if he really harbored thoughts of revenge, he could have outright rejected it since those assets were indeed transferred to his company’s account. However, when Ji Nanfeng proposed a partnership, he agreed without a second thought."

"He does have some talent in business. If he had refused, Ji Nanfeng and I would have had to spend much more effort on this, and Fu Corporation would not have been able to recover to its original state so quickly. He could have taken advantage of this period to completely eliminate me; although it might not have been successful, it would definitely have overwhelmed me, making it impossible to settle the issues with Shi Lihua so quickly. He even let me off the hook; he definitely wouldn’t target Shiyue, there’s no need for that."

Su Mu nodded:

"Yeah, I haven’t interacted with him much, but I don’t see any negativity in him. Maybe due to experiencing much hardship, I always find him very composed and his demeanor quite soothing. He shouldn’t be as Shiyue imagined."

Upon hearing this, Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, and was silent for a few seconds, leaving Su Mu puzzled:

"What’s wrong? Did I say something incorrect?"

"No." Fu Shinian spoke: "You’re right, but I still would remind you, don’t ever praise any other men in front of me. I will be unhappy and don’t want to hear it."

Su Mu laughed softly:

"Even this isn’t allowed? I don’t think these are praises."

"But you have never spoken well of me, you’ve never described me with such words."

His displeased expression was akin to an arrogant little princess, and Su Mu was amused by him, yet she couldn’t help but want to reassure him since she felt he would really appreciate hearing it.

So, she turned around to look at Fu Shinian earnestly, and softly started:

"Fu Shinian, I thought the twelve years of feelings I have for you would make you understand, there really isn’t anyone in this world who could surpass your place in my heart."

This was the most beautiful love declaration Fu Shinian had ever heard, as it confirmed that even over the past three years, Su Mu’s feelings for him had remained unchanged, perhaps somewhat emotional, but after such an incident, it’s natural for anyone to have their own emotions. Fu Shinian understood, and that was naturally how Su Mu should express it.

He had thought that during that period, Su Mu might no longer have feelings for him, but now hearing her confess it herself, Shinian found the feeling indescribable but knew his heart was full of joy.

When Su Shiyue woke up, it was already dark outside. Fu Shinian and Su Mu had used the hotel for meals all day, and Su Mu didn’t particularly mind, but Fu Shinian couldn’t stand to compromise his stomach any further, nor did he want to continue subjecting Su Mu to such discomfort, so without considering whether Su Shiyue’s mood had improved since earlier, he directly spoke:

"We’re going out to eat, are you coming?"

Su Shiyue didn’t even glance at Fu Shinian and didn’t respond. Fu Shinian watched her for a few seconds but didn’t say anything more, and started to leave, taking Su Mu’s hand. Su Mu felt this was improper and broke free from Fu Shinian’s grip, turning to him:

"You go ahead, I’ll have a word with Shiyue."

Fu Shinian slightly furrowed his brows, still remembering Su Shiyue’s previous attitude toward Su Mu, and if Su Shiyue hadn’t regained her senses, it was possible that Su Mu would be mistreated in front of her, a scenario Shinian was unwilling to see. He was about to say something, but Su Mu seemed to understand his thoughts and before he could speak, she smiled slightly:

"Don’t worry, I’ll be fine."
