Chapter 552: Chapter 552: A Journey Through Mountains and Rivers, Fortunate in Three Lifetimes

On the way to find Fu Shinian, Su Mu asked Qiqi a few questions, mostly about Yu Xin’s performance at school and how she took care of their group of students. Qiqi said it was all pretty good, although she still preferred Teacher Wang a bit more, but Teacher Wang’s injury was unavoidable.

Su Mu smiled a little, somewhat relieved.

Suddenly, Qiqi thought of something and asked Su Mu, "Mu Tou, can I call Teacher Wang later? I really miss her."

Su Mu smiled lightly:

"Of course, that’s something you should do."

"Great, I’ll call Teacher Wang after I meet dad later."

The mother and daughter walked towards the door, laughing and talking. They hadn’t yet left the school grounds when Qiqi saw Fu Shinian standing by the school gate. She let go of Su Mu’s hand and ran quickly to him. Fu Shinian saw her approaching, bent down, and hugged her, kissing her little face. Father and daughter were talking about something, seen from a distance, they looked as beautiful as a painting.

By the time Su Mu came closer, Fu Shinian didn’t treat her with any less affection and took Su Mu’s hand as they walked together toward the car, with Qiqi chattering all the way. Although Su Mu was quiet, Fu Shinian did not ignore her. When they reached the car, he settled Qiqi into her safety seat, and when he opened the passenger door for her, he noticed her distraction and asked:

"What’s wrong?"

Su Mu looked at Fu Shinian and voiced her unease:

"Do you know about Qiqi changing teachers?"

Fu Shinian also frowned:

"When did that happen? Do you think there’s a problem?"

"No, Qiqi said this teacher is very good, and I think she’s okay too, but I just can’t shake off this weird feeling, I always feel like I’ve seen her somewhere before."

Fu Shinian didn’t take Su Mu’s words as overthinking, but he also did not show his concern and worry in front of Su Mu, as that would only make her worry more. So he smiled:

"Maybe you’re overthinking it. It’s common for teachers to change in kindergarten. Don’t worry too much about it, but if you’re not reassured, I can have someone check into it."

Su Mu shook her head:

"No need, maybe I’m just overthinking it."

Fu Shinian didn’t say anything more, smiled as he watched her get into the car, and then he walked around the car to get in from the other side. After the car started moving, Qiqi asked Su Mu for the phone and called Teacher Wang herself. Qiqi spoke many well-mannered and affectionate words. Su Mu and Fu Shinian remained silent, only occasionally exchanging glances that conveyed one meaning: Look, how wonderful our daughter is.

After ending the call with the teacher, Qiqi didn’t hurry to give the phone back to Su Mu but started playing games and watching videos on it herself.

Qiqi isn’t very obsessed with phones, just occasionally glancing at it or playing, so Su Mu isn’t very strict in this regard. Besides, she thinks that if Qiqi is genuinely interested in it, it’s not bad to nurture that interest, as long as it makes her happy, as long as she truly likes it, as long as she is healthy. After all, neither she nor Fu Shinian have pinned their hopes on Qiqi, only wishing for her life to be safe and smooth.

Fu Shinian and Su Mu occasionally chatted in the front seats, while Qiqi played with the phone by herself in the back, creating a rather comfortable atmosphere, until Qiqi suddenly exclaimed, "Huh", drawing the attention of both front seat occupants:

"What’s up?"

Qiqi smiled and said:

"Dad, when did you learn to post on Moments?"

Fu Shinian replied with a smile, "I’ve just learned."

Although Fu Shinian has WeChat, he never uses Moments and has never browsed through it, so upon hearing Qiqi’s words, Su Mu also couldn’t help being curious and glanced at him with a puzzled look. Sensing Su Mu’s gaze, Fu Shinian slightly raised an eyebrow:

"What? Am I not allowed to post on Moments?"

"No, it just feels a bit strange."

"Really?" Fu Shinian smiled. "I think it’s quite nice."

Su Mu didn’t respond to him and instead turned around to ask Qiqi for her phone, which Qiqi handed back to Su Mu with a smile:

"Mu, I think Dad has a real talent for photography, at least he took a beautiful photo of us."

Qiqi’s words piqued Su Mu’s curiosity, so she quickly checked WeChat, scrolled to Moments. She actually had quite a few friends, but since Fu Shinian had just posted, Su Mu spotted it immediately—just a brief sentence:

Through landscapes a journey, such a fortunate life for three.

The accompanying picture showed the moment Su Mu had gone to pick up Qiqi from kindergarten, the gentle sunlight enveloping both of them. Su Mu was smiling softly, gazing down at Qiqi, who was also looking up at Su Mu—a scene so blissful that even Su Mu herself felt deeply happy upon seeing it.

Because of Fu Shinian’s photo, and because of his words.

Because she liked it so much, she found herself staring at that brief sentence for a long time, until Fu Shinian spoke out: "Haven’t had enough yet?"

"Not yet." Su Mu came to her senses, smiling softly: "Everyone is quite surprised that you would post on Moments."

"Really? I’ll start posting more often, then they won’t find it strange."

Although it hadn’t been long since it was posted, Fu Shinian’s moment already had quite a few likes and comments:

Qiao Yu: What did I just see?

Ji Nanfeng: If your account was hacked, just say so. I won’t be lending you any money.

Su Shiyue: Oh my, why do I suddenly feel like my teeth are tingling?

Rong Shen: Congratulations.

Su Mu’s heart felt incredibly full.

Perhaps it was due to last night’s ’strategy’, so tonight, when Qiqi once again ran to sleep in between them, Fu Shinian merely raised his eyebrows slightly without saying anything. He even looked meaningfully at Su Mu for a moment—the message in his eyes nearly immediate, yet she inexplicably felt no urge to resist.

So, at midnight, the two were in a sweaty embrace on the guestroom bed. Fu Shinian felt very satisfied, but he was curious about Su Mu’s distinctly different behavior from before, so he asked:

"You’re very different today."

"Am I?" Su Mu was very tired, nestling inside his embrace and almost drifting off to sleep. Upon hearing him, she just smiled: "Don’t you like this side of me?"

"I like it very much, but maybe it feels a bit surreal, so it feels like I’m dreaming."

Su Mu smiled faintly, adjusted her position, and did not speak anymore. Fu Shinian was worried she would just fall asleep like this, and although he felt it was fine, remembering that Qiqi would be sad not seeing them when she woke up, he decided to return to the master bedroom. Therefore, he coaxed Su Mu to get up and go to the bathroom to wash up.

Once he carefully placed Su Mu back in the master bedroom, Fu Shinian took one look at the peacefully sleeping Qiqi and made a firm decision in his heart:

Letting the child continue to sleep between them was ultimately not a solution.
