Chapter 549: Chapter 549: Unavoidable, Only Acceptance
Su Mu woke up just before noon, Qiqi and Fu Shinian had long since vacated the room. Su Mu wasn’t surprised; she simply felt somewhat irritated because, at this moment, there wasn’t a single part of her body that wasn’t sore. Fu Shinian really had been holding back for too long, showing no mercy at all.
She couldn’t help but curse him inwardly, while the sweetness in her heart was unconsciously ignored.
As she struggled to get up, the bedroom door opened. Su Mu instinctively looked over, her gaze turning frosty when she saw Fu Shinian, who likely knew exactly why she was in a foul mood, gave a faint smile:
"Awake?"
"Yeah, what else? Did you want me to sleep till the afternoon?"
Fu Shinian touched his nose and walked over to sit beside her: "Does it hurt a lot?"
"Fu Shinian." Su Mu looked at him with a piteous expression: "Are you unaware of how strong you were last night? I don’t have a single spot on my body that feels comfortable right now."
"I’m sorry, I’ll be more careful next time."
Su Mu glared at him: "If you do this again, there won’t be a next time."
Fu Shinian seemed a bit aggrieved:
"Susu, if you hadn’t made me wait so long, I wouldn’t have been so urgent. But in the end, you’re just too tempting, making me unable to stop myself."
With that, he leaned down close to Su Mu’s ear and whispered softly: "What if I said I haven’t quenched my desire at all, would you believe me?"
Su Mu pushed him away:
"I’m really uncomfortable."
"Then don’t get up. You’re off today and don’t need to go to the studio. Just lie down in bed and rest, and tell me if you need anything."
As he spoke, he gently pressed Su Mu back onto the bed with a tenderness that didn’t make her feel uncomfortable at all. Su Mu’s mood slightly improved due to his tone and actions, and she looked at him:
"Aren’t you going to the company?"
"Not going." Fu Shinian smiled: "Knowing you might be uncomfortable, I’ve cleared my day to take care of you at home."
Although Su Mu did feel uncomfortable, it wasn’t to the extent that she needed Fu Shinian’s care. Nonetheless, his words still delighted her. She quietly watched him for a while before speaking:
"What about Qiqi?"
"She’s off to kindergarten." Fu Shinian smiled: "So now, there’s no one to interrupt us."
Su Mu immediately went on guard: "What do you want to do?"
"I indeed want to do something, but seeing you so uncomfortable, how could I lay a hand on you?" Fu Shinian genuinely sounded regretful: "So, let’s talk about it tomorrow."
"No way, I need to recover for at least a week."
Fu Shinian raised an eyebrow, showing no intention of taking Su Mu’s words seriously, as he didn’t really take them to heart.
After having her meal downstairs, Su Mu still felt unwell but she found herself worrying about Jiang Bei. She decided to go see him. Fu Shinian didn’t seem pleased with her decision:
"You just got back from a half-month business trip. I cleared my day specifically to accompany you at home, yet you seem to be entirely unaware of this, even planning to go out and see someone else?"
Su Mu was in the cloakroom looking for clothes, getting ready to change and leave. Hearing Fu Shinian’s words, she smiled slightly:
"Mr. Fu, I don’t seem to recall expressing a need for you to stay home and take care of me. Since I didn’t say anything, all your actions are voluntary and have nothing to do with me."
As she spoke, she took off a pair of wide-leg pants and held them up in front of the dressing mirror to see how they looked. She was quite satisfied; most of these clothes were picked out by Fu Shinian anyway. Most of her own clothes were still in the small apartment, but she couldn’t deny that Fu Shinian had good taste—at least, it suited her style very well.
When she was about to change, she noticed Fu Shinian still standing beside her with a dissatisfied look. Su Mu couldn’t help but want to laugh:
"I’m going to change my clothes."
"Mhm, go ahead and change."
"Don’t you think it’s a bit rude for you to stand here?"
Upon hearing this, Fu Shinian lifted his eyes and gave her a cool look: "And you? Don’t you think it’s rather pretentious to ask me to leave just so you can change your clothes?"
Su Mu chuckled lightly without bothering to respond to him any further. She simply took off her loungewear and began to change. It indeed was a bit pretentious; it’s not like he hadn’t seen it all before. She truly had no reason to care, her only concern being that he might be overtaken by his desires and not let her leave the house.
Fortunately, in the end, Fu Shinian didn’t do anything. Just before Su Mu grabbed her bag and walked out the door, he spoke up:
"I’ll go with you."
"You’re going?"
"Yes, together. We can pick up Qiqi in the afternoon as well."
Su Mu found this reason hard to refuse, so she didn’t object. Although she was worried that Jiang Bei might act unnaturally with Fu Shinian around, Fu Shinian had called Ji Nanfeng in advance and knew he was currently at Jiang Bei’s apartment, so Su Mu had no more concerns and left with him.
Upon arriving at the apartment building where Jiang Bei lived, Fu Shinian parked the car. It was only when Su Mu got out and walked towards the apartment that she realized Fu Shinian wasn’t following. Confused, she turned around and saw him staring at a nearby car. She didn’t recognize the car, so she asked:
"What’s up?"
Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu and smiled slightly:
"Nothing, go on up first."
Although Su Mu didn’t understand what was happening, she nodded and went into the apartment first. Standing at the elevator entrance, she couldn’t help but look back worriedly. Just then, she saw the door of that car open, and Rong Shen stepped out. Su Mu was taken aback.
It had been more than half a month since Su Mu last saw Jiang Bei. Now, she was happy to see that Jiang Bei had gained back some weight, and though she was not yet as full-figured as a pregnant woman should be, Su Mu couldn’t help but smile at the gradual improvement:
"You finally seem to have regained some weight."
Jiang Bei’s mental state seemed fairly good, but it obviously couldn’t compare to how she used to be. The Jiang Bei that Su Mu knew seemed to be gone for good:
"You should be resting at home after coming back from your business trip. There’s no need to trouble yourself coming here."
"I’ve already rested all morning, and I slept well last night too. Don’t worry about me."
After finishing her sentence, Su Mu noticed Jiang Bei’s gaze fixed on her neck. She subconsciously raised her hand to touch it: "What’s the matter?"
Jiang Bei smiled faintly:
"Have you and Fu Shinian completely reconciled?"
"..."
"The marks on your neck are hidden at the back. You probably didn’t notice them when you were washing up."
Su Mu instantly felt like dying. The positions last night were indeed... It was all Fu Shinian’s fault. But now that Jiang Bei had pointed it out, Su Mu had nothing to do but give an awkward smile and admit it by nodding in agreement with what Jiang Bei had just said:
"Yes, it’s something I can’t escape from, can’t let go of, and can’t forget. I can only accept it."
