Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Don’t Lay a Hand on Me

Su Mu forced herself to calm down and put her phone back in her bag:

"What exactly do you want to do?"

"I’m about to go abroad, and there are some things I fear I won’t have time for if I don’t do them now." Su Shiyue looked ahead at the road, "As for what I want to do, I might as well tell you directly, I’ll destroy what you care about the most."

What she cared about the most? Su Mu subconsciously thought of Fu Shinian, but Su Shiyue wouldn’t dare and didn’t have the capability to do anything to Fu Shinian. So, stepping back, the next thing she wanted to destroy was her own marriage.

Having failed to have someone kidnap her last time, she must have made up her mind this time, right?

Su Mu quietly calculated her odds of escaping; the possibility of jumping out of the car was almost non-existent. Su Shiyue had already locked the central control lock, and even if Su Mu managed to jump out, with her driving, Su Mu feared the outcome would not be favorable.

Her gaze gradually moved to the steering wheel in Su Shiyue’s hands. Should she risk everything to wrest control of the car? This road led to the suburbs, where there were not many vehicles or pedestrians to worry about injuring the innocent. Maybe she should try.

As she looked for an opportunity, Su Mu suddenly felt dizzy and her vision began to blur. Only then did Su Shiyue turn her head slightly to look at her:

"It looks like the drug is starting to take effect."

Su Mu didn’t know what kind of drug Su Shiyue had administered to her, but she felt its effects were fiercely intense. No sooner had her body started reacting than her consciousness began to blur, and the last thing she thought about before passing out was:

The dinner she wanted to make for Fu Shinian was ultimately not going to happen.

——

Wei Shaoqin had been very busy recently. The performance of the Junyue Hotel was declining, and the matter of opening a branch in Shen City all required his attention. It had been many days since he had last thought about that woman, Su Mu.

Having just surveyed a new plot of land with the company’s project team, the conclusions were not satisfactory. His mind was in turmoil, and he couldn’t help but think of the madman Fu Shinian again. Just as he was about to explode with rage, a text message came into his phone.

Unexpectedly, it was from that woman, Su Mu.

Peninsula Hotel 1808, I’ll wait for you.

Wei Shaoqin slightly raised an eyebrow. If he hadn’t misunderstood Su Mu’s intentions, was this an invitation? Regardless of the underlying purpose, Wei Shaoqin was going to check it out. Even if it was not as he understood, his anger was flaring, and taking it out on Fu Shinian’s woman seemed only fair.

With a wave of his hand, he dismissed his colleagues from the project department and headed to his flashy red sports car.

He sped all the way to the Peninsula Hotel and stood at the door of room 1808, reaching out to press the doorbell. But, even as he almost wore out the doorbell, no one came to open the door for him. Feeling played, he thought this was something that woman Su Mu might do and grew even angrier. He kicked the door furiously.

To his surprise, the door had been ajar all along. Wei Shaoqin had used enough force that he almost fell headlong into the room. Fortunately, at that time of day, there were not many people on the entire floor, or else he would have truly lost face.

Wei Shaoqin re-adjusted his appearance and then stepped inside.

The room was large, evidently a top-tier suite. Wei Shaoqin paced the empty living room, thinking about the balance he had once seen on Su Mu’s bank card, suspecting her funds weren’t sufficient for such extravagance, making the whole affair increasingly amusing.

Soft sounds emerged from the slightly ajar bedroom, and Wei Shaoqin paused for a few seconds before stepping toward it.

The bedroom was dark, curtains drawn, with only a wall lamp above the bed turned on, casting a dim and ambiguous light over the woman endlessly writhing on the bed.

Wei Shaoqin could tell it was Su Mu.

But he didn’t move; instead, he sneered disdainfully, surveyed the entire room, then leaned casually against the doorway, lighting a cigarette, starkly contrasting with the restless Su Mu on the bed!

"What sort of capability do you think you have, causing trouble with a menace like me wasn’t enough, you went after someone else too. But what deep grudge does this person have against you, to use such means to deal with you? Even I was used."

Wei Shaoqin muttered to himself, as the Su Mu on the bed was in no position to respond. She couldn’t even distinguish who was in the room; she only knew she was close to breaking down, perhaps she would completely change in the next second.

To Wei Shaoqin, he admitted he desired Su Mu initially because of her looks, later appreciating her personality. After several interactions, she indeed differed from the women he used to know, which kept his interest alive until today.

But now that she was delivered neatly to him, changing from untouchable to easily obtainable, Wei Shaoqin felt it somehow lacked flavor.

It wasn’t that Su Mu had changed, nor was it that he didn’t want her, but how had he shifted from a manipulator to a tool being utilized by others?

When it came to women, Wei Shaoqin often thought with his desires, but the person trying to use him likely wasn’t aware that what Wei Shaoqin hated most was being used as a pawn.

Today, he could indulge himself with Su Mu and didn’t fear what Fu Shinian might do to him afterward; after all, he still had the text messages Su Mu sent him on his phone to shift all the blame onto her.

Even if really confronted, he wasn’t unable to handle it.

But what about afterward? What about Su Mu?

How would she take it? For someone as obstinate as her, if she awoke knowing what had transpired with him while she was not in her senses, what would she do? She had already attempted suicide last time, had she not?

Wei Shaoqin did not wish to witness such an outcome a second time.

As if making a resolution, Wei Shaoqin fiercely finished his cigarette, tossed it onto the floor and stamped it out. He strode over, picked up the struggling Su Mu, but she was no longer the lucid Su Mu. She almost reflexively clung to Wei Shaoqin, then tore at his shirt.

Wei Shaoqin without a hint of sentimentality fiercely pulled her hands off, a devilish smile playing on his lips, he lightly patted her flushed face:

"Don’t lay a hand on me, or you’ll regret it!"

Where was Su Mu’s rationality to heed his words? As he lifted her into his arms, she fiercely bit down on Wei Shaoqin’s shoulder, causing him to inhale sharply from the pain:

"Su Mu, if I find out you did that on purpose, you’re dead. It’s pointless to bite me if you can’t hold back from biting yourself!"
