Chapter 502: Chapter 502: Happy Life, Family of Three

The plane landed in Shen City at 6 o’clock in the evening. Before departure, they had driven from the studio; now, someone went directly to the parking lot to retrieve the car, while most were weary and waited in the hall. Su Mu was also waiting; idly, she took out her cellphone and turned it on.

It was then that a call came in: "Turn ahead, let’s walk together."

Su Mu looked at her colleague next to her and was just about to refuse when Fu Shinian’s voice reached her ears: "Qiqi just called, said she missed you, let’s have dinner together."

The mention of Qiqi was a perennially effective reason, no matter how many times Fu Shinian used it; Su Mu sighed, hung up the phone, and patted Lin Ning on the shoulder: "After you drop the stuff at the studio, go have a meal, charge it to the studio’s account, then head directly home. No need to come to the studio tomorrow, consider it a holiday."

Lin Ning happily acknowledged:

"Su, aren’t you coming with us?"

Su Mu raised an eyebrow at her, Lin Ning instantly realized; Fu Shinian was returning with them, and there had been absolutely no interaction on the plane, by now avoiding any suspicion meant leaving together, and Lin Ning nodded understandingly with a smile:

"Okay, you go ahead, I’ll notify them later."

Su Mu dragged her simple luggage forward about 200 meters, around a corner she saw the parked black Bentley, Song Yi standing by it; he stepped quickly forward to take her luggage, smiling slightly:

"Madam."

Before Su Mu could correct his erroneous form of address, Song Yi had already moved ahead to the car, placing the luggage in the trunk. Su Mu opened the rear car door and sat inside, with Fu Shinian laying back resting his eyes; Su Mu’s gaze landed on his face:

"Tired?"

"Uh-huh." Fu Shinian responded: "There was a kid sitting next to me on the plane, kept making noise."

Hearing that, Su Mu said no more, shifting her gaze out the window until Song Yi started the car; only then did Fu Shinian open his eyes and glanced at Su Mu, smiling faintly.

By the time they returned to Bishui Yuntian, it was 7 o’clock, but the whole family was waiting for them, not starting their meal yet, standing on the verandah awaiting them. Upon seeing their car slow to a stop in front of the main building, Qiqi couldn’t restrain herself anymore, breaking free from Great Grandmother’s hand and rushing over.

Fu Shinian was the first to exit the car, Qiqi lunging right into his arms, holding him tight and sweetly calling out ’Daddy’.

It seemed nothing had a better healing effect than this ’Daddy’; the nearly ten hours of flying and fatigue disappeared without a trace along with this milky voice since he kissed her little face:

"Did you miss daddy?"

"I did, missed you so much I even got fatter."

Su Mu got out of the car at this time and heard her complete sentence, smiling slightly:

"Fatter? It’s said missing someone makes one lose weight, Qiqi got fatter; seems it’s not real missing."

"Not true." Qiqi humphed defiantly, yet extended her arms for Su Mu to hold her. Su Mu held her in her arms, indeed feeling a bit more weight than before she had left. After kissing Su Mu, Qiqi spoke, "Wood, I really missed you all so much that I got fat. When you weren’t here, to stop myself from crying and worrying Great Grandmother, I could only distract myself with food. Every piece of flesh on me is proof of how much I missed you."

Hearing this, Fu Shinian raised an eyebrow and pinched her little nose:

"Getting sharper by the day. When you’re older, no one will be your match."

The family of three was joyously bustling along, while Great Grandmother stood on the verandah, her heart full of mixed emotions. After her husband and son had left, all she wished for was her family’s peaceful enjoyment of their time together. Now, after so many trials and tribulations, the scene she longed for was right before her.

She unexpectedly felt a bit teary. Su Shiyue, standing by Great Grandmother, smiled at that:

"Grandmother, it’s a happy occasion."

"Yes, a happy occasion." Great Grandmother smiled: "I truly wish this happiness could last forever."

Knowing Great Grandmother had not yet eaten, Fu Shinian frowned slightly:

"Didn’t we tell you not to wait?"

Su Shiyue smiled: "Brother, it’s because Grandmother is happy. When she’s this happy, she doesn’t feel hungry."

Qiqi chimed in: "Yeah, yeah, I wasn’t hungry while waiting for you, but now my stomach is grumbling. Let’s go eat quickly."

Su Shiyue took Qiqi from Su Mu’s hands:

"Let’s go, aunt will take you to eat."

Fu Shinian and Su Mu flanked Great Grandmother, helping her into the house, causing the strong emotions she was suppressing to reignite, but thankfully she still held back her tears. Once she was seated, Fu Shinian and Su Mu headed to refresh themselves in the bathroom, with Fu Shinian insisting Su Mu go first. He stood at the doorway, watching her lather her hands with foam, and smiled faintly:

"I want to tell Qiqi about our decision later."

Su Mu met his gaze in the mirror, Fu Shinian continued:

"Only by acknowledging our relationship in front of everyone will Qiqi believe it; you know how sensitive she is."

"I have no objections."

At the dinner table, when Fu Shinian shared this news with Qiqi, she was stunned for nearly a minute, unable to respond immediately—probably didn’t expect happiness to come so suddenly. She simply stared dumbfounded at Su Mu, eyes full of disbelief, before Su Shiyue sitting next to her gently pinched her little face:

"Qiqi is so happy she’s gone dumb."

When Qiqi came to, her reaction was not as jubilant as expected, but rather her eyes began to redden slightly, tightening the hearts of both Fu Shinian and Su Mu. The next second, they heard Qiqi’s voice, unable to suppress her elation yet tinged with cautious probing:

"Really?"

Su Mu felt a pang in her heart, feeling utterly inadequate in her role as a mother under Qiqi’s gaze, subconsciously and unconsciously owing her so much over the years.

"Really, Qiqi. The mom and dad you want will be here with you. We’ll make it happen, the three of us living together."

Qiqi left her chair, walking around the long dining table to the middle of the two, grabbing Fu Shinian’s hand with one hand and Su Mu’s with the other, then clasping them tightly together, smiling brightly and ostentatiously—the kind of joy one wishes to share with the whole world:

"Daddy, Mommy, Qiqi loves you."

At that moment, watching the smile on Qiqi’s face, Su Mu felt that even if she were only acting now, if she were really coming back, she would do so without hesitation.
