Chapter 415: Chapter 415: Mom and Dad, Should Be Together

After ending the call, Su Mu was preparing to take Qiqi to take a bath when Qiqi suddenly grabbed Su Mu’s hand:

"Mu, you’re going on a business trip tomorrow. Can I not go to the Wen Family?"

This request made Su Mu pause all her movements as she looked at Qiqi; although she could guess some of the reasons, she still asked,

"Why? Doesn’t Qiqi want to play with Shaoyuan anymore?"

"Of course I want to, but today I was just so happy at Great Grandmother’s house. I hadn’t had enough fun and want to continue tomorrow. Can I?" Qiqi looked at Su Mu, "Besides, I already spoke to Brother Shaoyuan on the phone today. He said he’s completely okay with whatever I prefer. If I don’t go to the Wen Family, he’ll come to find me at Great Grandmother’s house; wouldn’t that be perfect?"

Su Mu looked at Qiqi and didn’t speak for a long time, which made Qiqi, who was being stared at, somewhat inexplicably panicked. Even her tone of voice became more cautious when she spoke again:

"Mu, what’s wrong? You don’t like me going to Fu Shinian’s place?"

After coming back to her senses, Su Mu shook her head and raised her hand to touch Qiqi’s hair:

"Qiqi, I know you like Fu Shinian very much, and I won’t stop your interactions. Whenever you miss him, you are always welcome to stay at Fu Shinian’s for a few days. I won’t mind, but there’s something I hope you understand."

Qiqi blinked and remained silent, quietly waiting for Su Mu to speak.

"In the past few days, I can clearly feel that you’re trying to bring me and Fu Shinian together. I don’t know exactly why, but right now I am your Uncle Wen’s girlfriend. It’s not right for you to do this; do you understand?"

When her recent actions were exposed, Qiqi shyly lowered her head while Su Mu saw her and smiled slightly:

"I’m not blaming you, and I’m not angry, so don’t worry about it."

Qiqi looked up at Su Mu, and after ensuring she really wasn’t angry, she softly asked,

"Mu, can you really not continue with Fu Shinian?"

Su Mu didn’t respond.

"I don’t know what happened between you two, but Fu Shinian told me that he truly likes you a lot and wants to be together." Qiqi was silent for a few seconds, cautious as she watched Su Mu, "Although you wouldn’t admit it, Shinian is my dad. Aren’t a mom and dad supposed to be together?"

"Qiqi." Su Mu gently embraced her. "When you grow up, you’ll understand that in this world, not everything is supposed to be a certain way."

The next day Wen Han arrived to pick up Qiqi, but she didn’t know how to express her intentions. Seeing her hesitate to speak, Su Mu smiled slightly at Wen Han and said,

"Qiqi said she wants to keep Great Grandmother company, so she probably won’t be going to the Wen Family."

This response surprised Wen Han, as Qiqi used to love going to the Wen Family and was very fond of Wen Shaoyuan, but it seemed she had completely shifted her affections after brief contact with Fu Shinian and Great Grandmother. Perhaps, there truly was a bond of kinship compelling her to stay closer to her relatives.

Wen Han’s surprise left him speechless momentarily. Su Mu, noticing this, quietly asked,

"Are you unhappy?"

"Why would I be?" Wen Han came back to his senses and smiled slightly, "I was just thinking, should Fu Shinian pick up Qiqi, or should we drop her off later?"

Qiqi smiled and spoke up:

"I’ll call Fu Shinian to come and pick me up."

"No need," Su Mu stopped her, "We’ll drop you off later."

Having Fu Shinian and Wen Han meet was the last thing Su Mu wanted to see.

Su Mu had to go to the rural area for three or four days, but luckily all her luggage had been packed back in Jiangcheng City and there wasn’t much left to do:

"I’ll just grab my luggage and then we can leave."

"Okay."

Wen Han thought the grandmother was still residing in the old house and directly headed towards it, but was stopped by Su Mu: "Grandma isn’t living in the old house now."

Wen Han didn’t seem concerned:

"Then where is she now?"

Before Su Mu could respond, Qiqi in the back seat quickly spoke up, "At Bishui Yuntian, where I played all day yesterday."

Wen Han smiled slightly:

"Do you like that place, Qiqi?"

"I do, but I like it mainly because Great Grandmother is there."

Wen Han chuckled and remained silent. Su Mu then spoke, "Yesterday, after returning from Jiangcheng City, I was in a rush to find Jiang Bei. It wasn’t convenient to bring Qiqi along, and it so happened that Great Grandmother wanted to see Qiqi, so I brought her here."

"I know."

His simple response made Su Mu unsure of what else to say, merely watching his expression quietly for a few seconds before speaking, "Before coming back to Shen City, I made a decision."

Wen Han, focusing on driving, casually asked,

"What decision?"

"I’ve decided to move my workshop from Jiangcheng City to Shen City."

This decision made Wen Han turn his head towards her in disbelief, his look filled with incredulity as if he couldn’t believe Su Mu would suddenly make such a decision. Qiqi, sitting in the back seat, had been paying attention to their conversation, and upon hearing this, she burst out excitedly:

"Mu Mu, is that true? Are we really coming to Shen City? Will we live here permanently after this?"

Wen Han smiled slightly:

"It seems Qiqi really likes Shen City."

Su Mu also smiled:

"Her favorite people are in Shen City. There aren’t many of her friends in Jiangcheng City where I work; naturally, she wants to come back."

"And what about you?" Wen Han glanced at her, "Why do you want to come back? This decision is so sudden; I remember you didn’t have this plan the last time you visited my place."

Su Mu looked ahead at the road and smiled slightly:

"There’s no special reason, only that it feels like your work doesn’t allow for frequent leave, and although I have more free time, I can be busy for months without being able to return. It seems better to come back so we can meet more often."

Wen Han would never have expected to hear such words from Su Mu’s mouth. He was momentarily stunned and even turned the steering wheel without thinking, pulling the car over to the roadside. Su Mu, surprised, turned to look at Wen Han, noticing his utterly unexpected expression and smiled slightly:

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I... I just didn’t expect you came back for that reason."

"Otherwise?" Su Mu looked at Wen Han, "What did you think?"

Wen Han didn’t respond, but it didn’t mean Su Mu didn’t understand. Wen Han thought that Su Mu’s return to Shen City must have had something to do with Fu Shinian, possibly for Qiqi or maybe for her feelings, but he wouldn’t say it, and Su Mu wouldn’t ask.

Some words are better left unsaid.

Wen Han smiled slightly:

"It’s just that I didn’t think your reason for coming back to Shen City would be because of me."

Su Mu smiled lightly:

"Wen Han, you are my boyfriend now, so I can’t help but care about how you feel."
