Great Grandmother’s eyes reddened instantly at the address and after a heavy acknowledgment, she hugged Qiqi tightly. Perhaps the intimacy between Su Mu and Great Grandmother made Qiqi feel no strangeness towards the old lady; instead, when Great Grandmother hugged her, she extended her arms and gently hugged her back.

"Good child," Great Grandmother released her and looked at her carefully. Although there were some red spots on her face, they did not mar her appearance as she nodded continuously in approval, "Good child, you are so beautiful, just like your mother, you are bound to be liked at first sight."

With that, she took out a thick red packet from her pocket and handed it to Qiqi:

"This is from Great Grandmother, take it."

Qiqi didn’t take it immediately but looked at Su Mu. Su Mu glanced once and spoke softly, "Grandma, the child is still young, you don’t need to give her these."

"She indeed is young, but no matter how young, she’s my great-granddaughter. I haven’t shown any care for her in three years. These little things are just to amuse her. You should not stop me. If she really doesn’t want it, I’ll find someone to open a bank account for Qiqi and deposit all the money into her account, neither you nor Shinian are to touch this money."

Hearing this, Su Mu smiled and said no more, nodded to Qiqi, who then politely took it and solemnly thanked Great Grandmother, bringing a joyful smile to her face.

"Got something to tell you, shall we step outside?"

Su Mu averted her gaze, "There’s nothing to discuss with you."

Fu Shinian smiled again without anger. His gaze fell on Qiqi:

"It’s fine to talk here too, I don’t mind."

Who could guarantee what words would come from his mouth? Based on the last time they were alone in a room, Su Mu couldn’t take it lightly. Although she disliked his method of intimidating, she eventually didn’t persist. After all, even if she could disregard her own feelings, she had to consider Great Grandmother and Qiqi.

Assuming the sender had made a mistake, Su Mu didn’t reply and just tossed it aside, but now it seemed it must have been sent by Fu Shinian. But what did it imply?

"What do you mean?" Su Mu turned to face Fu Shinian, "If you have something to say, be direct. I don’t have time to waste standing here."

Looking at her defensive posture, Fu Shinian restrained his emotions again,

"Yesterday, when you and Wen Han came back to the apartment together, I was there under your apartment building. Just that you didn’t see me."

Su Mu was somewhat surprised, but it wasn’t exactly unexpected. Partially grasping the context of his message at that moment, it wasn’t about Wen Han spending the night at her place per se, having no interest in explaining, she instead chuckled,

"What about it? Wen Han is my boyfriend. He drove me home, and I let him stay over for the night. Isn’t that normal? Surely Mr. Fu’s thinking hasn’t remained stuck in the last century, believing that two people who aren’t married shouldn’t live together?"

"How long have you two been together? Is it appropriate to live together so soon?"

"Even if it’s inappropriate, what does it matter to you? What right do you have to comment on my current love life, just a former husband?"

"You don’t have to deliberately provoke me with these words," Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, "I know what kind of person you are. Even though we haven’t seen each other in three years, I still know you. Although you are now with Wen Han, from what I know of you, your relationship probably hasn’t progressed beyond holding hands or hugging, right? Even if he stayed over last night, it wouldn’t be in the same room with you. I assume he stayed because Qiqi was unwell and he was worried about any complications during the night, correct?"

Last night, Fu Shinian wasn’t thinking this way. Seeing the lights go out in the apartment had thrown his mind into a whirl, leading him to send that message impulsively. Fortunately, Su Mu ignored him, allowing him to regain his composure quite a bit.

After receiving a call from Qiao Yu today, he suddenly understood and saw through many things. Su Mu was never someone to give herself away easily. Even if she was now together with Wen Han in a normal relationship, she wouldn’t have let their relationship progress so far in such a short time.
