Chapter 215: Chapter 215: I’m Not Like You

Su Mu watched her coldly:

"I think you shouldn’t blame me, but rather thank me. Have you ever considered what Fu Shinian would have done to you if it hadn’t been for my involvement that caused your separation, but instead, he had found out about your deception and lies? Being unfaithful to love and marriage is what he despises most in life."

"I know, I certainly know." Qin Nianwan looked at Su Mu: "So now, you, too, have betrayed him. We are the same."

Su Mu corrected her:

"Don’t equate yourself with me. I’m not like you!"

"What’s the difference? Do you think that after you slept with Wen Han, Fu Shinian would still want you? Continue to let you sit in Mrs. Fu’s seat? Don’t be naive." Qin Nianwan laughed: "Divorce is just a matter of time. I’m waiting for that day. I believe it’s not far off."

Su Mu looked at her calmly:

"I didn’t come here today to listen to you complain about your miserable life. Are you sure you don’t want to apologize to me?"

Qin Nianwan, however, avoided the question:

"I’m a woman. I know how much damage such things can do, how much pain they cause. But what can I do if you’re Mrs. Fu? If you constantly have outstanding men around you, if they only have eyes for you? Do you know how jealous that makes people? We are all human; why do you deserve this?"

Su Mu felt no further need to stay. Continuing would only mean listening to Qin Nianwan’s grievances about life, which were the most useless words in the world.

She stood up from the sofa, her gaze swept around the room, and then landed on the scissors next to the scented candle.

Qin Nianwan followed her gaze but clearly didn’t take it seriously:

"What are you going to do to me? Murder carries a death sentence."

Su Mu didn’t speak. She walked over, picked up the scissors, and approached Qin Nianwan from behind. Qin Nianwan, who had claimed to be unafraid, couldn’t help but tremble. She even thought of getting up and leaving but was firmly held in place by Su Mu:

"I advise you to stay put. Otherwise, if I accidentally cut your face, it will truly be too shameful for you to meet anyone."

Qin Nianwan dared not move any further; she clearly heard a murderous tone in Su Mu’s voice.

Su Mu was satisfied with her silence, grabbed a handful of her hair, and just as Qin Nianwan realized what she intended and began to scream out in protest, the firmly shut door was suddenly forced open. Su Mu and Qin Nianwan instinctively looked over to see the panicked Song Yi. He had yet to grasp the situation inside the room when he blurted out:

"Madam, you need to stay calm."

Su Mu was very calm, calmly shifting her gaze from Song Yi’s face, and with a calm motion of her hand, she snipped off a handful of hair from the scalp.

Accompanied by Qin Nianwan’s scream, Su Mu let go of the hair in her hand, watching it softly land on Qin Nianwan’s nightgown, while Song Yi at the doorway visibly sighed in relief that it wasn’t something as serious as murder.

Su Mu thought she would feel a sense of pleasure, yet contrary to her expectations, she felt not the slightest pleasure from it. So, heedless of Qin Nianwan’s struggles, she cut another handful, but the result was the same—no pleasure from revenge.

The reason was that what she was doing now simply wasn’t enough to make up for the pain Qin Nianwan had caused her.

She too wanted an eye for an eye, but if she were to degrade Qin Nianwan by using men, then how would she be any different from Qin Nianwan? She scorned such filthy methods and refused to stoop so low for her.

Su Mu threw aside the scissors and was about to walk towards the door when Qin Nianwan suddenly called out to her:

"Does Fu Shinian know?"

Because Song Yi was present, Qin Nianwan did not mention Han Jie’s name, but that didn’t mean Su Mu didn’t understand her words. She laughed lightly, "He will know."

——

In a car hidden in the shadows beneath Qin Nianwan’s apartment building, the last sound from the surveillance device—a closing door—faded, and Fu Shinian casually tossed it aside, slightly frowning.

He admitted to himself that he had done a lot of unthinkable things today, such as going to the airport to see her, following her to the foot of Qin Nianwan’s apartment, and even ordering Song Yi to install a bug, all things he normally would not stoop to do.

Yet, as if possessed, he had done them all.

And because he had, he had heard a story so incredible it was near unbelievable.

The name ’Han Jie’ was new to him, but through Su Mu’s conversation with Qin Nianwan, Fu Shinian had roughly understood the relationship between Han Jie and Qin Nianwan. The timing, however, was sensitive; if Qin Nianwan had already been pregnant two years ago, she would without a doubt have been cheating on him.

And yet Su Mu, who clearly knew all about it, had never uttered a word in his presence.

The reason, Fu Shinian thought, he probably knew.

Perhaps Su Mu had never intended to marry him from the beginning. Maybe she hadn’t spoken up out of concern for his male pride after stumbling upon those things about Qin Nianwan, and instead, she used the excuse of marriage to halt Qin Nianwan’s actions towards him.

Perhaps from the beginning, Fu Shinian was wrong.

After leaving the apartment side by side with Song Yi, Su Mu looked around and did not see any familiar vehicles. Song Yi, standing by her side, naturally knew what she was looking for but pretended not to understand and asked,

"What is Madam looking for?"

Su Mu’s gaze lightly fell upon him,

"Don’t you know?"

Song Yi smiled awkwardly,

"How could I know if you don’t tell me?"

"Yet, without me asking you to go up, you went straight up, didn’t you? Not only that, but you also barged in the door, clearly overhearing my conversation with Qin Nianwan," Su Mu glanced back at the apartment building: "This apartment seems to lack soundproofing, our conversation on the 18th floor can be heard clearly from the lobby on the first floor."

Song Yi: "..."

Su Mu took her bag off her shoulder and threw it directly into Song Yi’s arms, catching him by surprise. He clumsily caught it and looked at Su Mu, somewhat helplessly,

"Madam, what is this..."

"I think you would like this bag a lot, I’m giving it to you."

Cold sweat broke out on Song Yi, who says his mistress is gentle and easily bullied? Her insightful demeanor was practically another Fu Shinian. Song Yi inwardly lamented but could only firmly deny everything,

"How could I accept Madam’s possessions? Besides, I don’t have a girlfriend, and this bag would be useless to me."

"Since it’s useless, then remove what belongs to you. I think that thing is useless to me as well."

Song Yi: "..."

Secretly unclipping the bug and holding it in the palm of his hand, his face was full of confusion, "Madam, I truly don’t understand what you’re talking about."
