Chapter 212: Chapter 212 Eye for an Eye

One would have thought they would have finished this meal in silence, but Su Mu inadvertently looked up and saw someone outside the window. She reflexively stood up from her seat and ran outside. Wen Han was caught off guard, wanted to ask what was going on, but stopped himself when he saw the pedestrian outside the window. He hurriedly called the waiter to pay the bill and quickly followed Su Mu’s pace.

Perhaps there really is a kind of fate in this world called ’searching high and low without fruition, only to find it without effort.’ Su Mu never would have thought, after searching through numerous entertainment cities without success, she would encounter Chen Huifang just by turning around.

Chen Huifang was surprised by Su Mu’s appearance, almost not believing her own eyes. She could never have imagined running into an acquaintance from Shen City on the streets of Portugal. But when she saw Wen Han’s figure from behind, she confirmed that these two were indeed here for her. So what? Chen Huifang’s face showed no fear, instead, she was calm and contemptuous:

"Are you here looking for me?"

Su Mu looked at her, "Yes, I have a question for you."

"What is it? What could there possibly be for us to talk about?"

"After what you did to me, shouldn’t you apologize?"

Chen Huifang looked at her indifferently, not wanting to engage in much conversation, quickly compromising:

"You’re here just for this? Young lady, I advise you not to take it too seriously. People are selfish creatures; we each have our needs. From my perspective, even if I were given another hundred chances, I would make the same choice. But indeed, for you, it’s not a good thing. If you insist on an apology, I’m not unwilling. Sorry then."

Su Mu had never heard an apology more perfunctory and insincere, and she laughed lightly:

"If your daughter were framed and harmed by someone, could you still stand here and calmly say ’to each their own needs’?"

"What do you mean by that? Are you here to seek justice? I’ve already apologized to you, what else do you want? If I had known you were this troublesome, I wouldn’t have given you those photos."

Su Mu looked at her coldly:

"Those photos, besides Wen Han, who else did you give them to?"

Chen Huifang probably didn’t expect Su Mu to suddenly ask her this question. Without her guard up, she hesitated for a few seconds, then recovered and forced a smile:

"I don’t understand what you’re talking about. There was only one negative of those photos, and I only gave it to Wen Han."

It was at this moment that Wen Han came over, his gaze briefly sweeping over Chen Huifang’s face before he softly suggested to Su Mu:

"Let’s find a place to sit down and talk."

They were standing in the middle of the road, which was not a good place to talk. Su Mu didn’t object, but that didn’t mean Chen Huifang would follow them. Probably Wen Han had anticipated Chen Huifang’s reaction and said softly:

"You can choose not to talk, but I’m confident I can get the money back that was given to you. If you don’t believe me, you can try."

Chen Huifang didn’t know how much truth there was to Wen Han’s words, but to be on the safe side, she decided to follow. After all, she had only spent a little of the money Wen Han gave her, and if it were to be taken back, she wouldn’t have an easy life.

Next to them was a bar. Wen Han led Su Mu inside and directly booked a private room. Before entering, Chen Huifang kept searching around intending to find someone to call the police or something, but Wen Han saw right through her:

"I’d advise you to not entertain those thoughts. If I found you once, naturally, I can find you a second time. Do you think you can hide forever?"

Chen Huifang glared at him:

"No matter what you say, Zhuo Qing is my daughter. When you married Zhuo Qing, even though she’s dead, I’m still your mother-in-law. Is this how you speak to me?"

Wen Han slightly curled his lips at the corner:

"It seems you don’t have a good memory. I already said last time, once you took that money, our relationship was canceled out. Zhuo Qing is Zhuo Qing, and you are you."

After he finished, he didn’t give her a chance to retort and directly pushed her into the private room. Chen Huifang staggered, almost falling, and glared fiercely at Wen Han. Wen Han, feeling nothing, turned on all the lights in the room and then took a seat beside Su Mu.

Chen Huifang unceremoniously sat down on the sofa on the other side, crossing her legs impatiently as she looked at the two opposite her:

"Hurry up and say what you have to say. I don’t have all day to spend here with you."

"What I want to know is very simple. Who did you give the other negative to?" Su Mu looked at her, and as she chuckled and was about to deny it, he cut her off, "Don’t say there was only one copy. Otherwise, my husband wouldn’t have received the same photo."

Chen Huifang wasn’t surprised and after a few seconds, she admitted with a shallow smile:

"Since everything is out in the open now, there’s nothing for me to hide. I sold the negative to your husband."

"How much did you sell it for?"

"The same as Wen Han, 40 million."

Su Mu chuckled lightly, "Then who is my husband?"

Just as Chen Huifang was about to blurt out an answer, she realized she had never seen him and didn’t actually know who Su Mu’s husband was. She stood there, stunned.

"You don’t even know who my husband is, so how could you have sold the negative to him?" Su Mu looked at her with a cold laugh, "But you didn’t realize how much those photos could be worth to my husband, otherwise you wouldn’t have settled for Wen Han’s 40 million."

Chen Huifang narrowed her eyes slightly:

"What do you mean?"

"The person who asked you for the other negative, she demanded a hefty sum of 200 million from my husband. When you compare the two, haven’t you lost a great deal?"

"What?" Chen Huifang stood up from the sofa agitatedly, "200 million? Han Lu only gave me 1 million, and she turned around and sold it for that much?"

Su Mu and Wen Han said nothing, quietly watching her as Chen Huifang finally realized she had let something slip and stood there awkwardly frozen.

Frankly speaking, the answer of Han Lu was somewhat unexpected for Su Mu. She had absolutely no interaction with Han Lu. But Han Lu represented Qin Nianwan, so the ultimate answer could only be Qin Nianwan.

If it was Qin Nianwan, then when you think about it, there was certain logic in it. Even if the two had no interaction, after all, they were on opposite sides as romantic rivals.

Was all this a method of retaliation because she had taken Fu Shinian away from her two years ago and married him?

It seems not incorrect, just tit for tat.

But what right did Qin Nianwan have? What right did she have to stand beside Fu Shinian after all the things she did back then? Self-awareness is a great thing, but unfortunately... Qin Nianwan lacked it.
