Chapter 175: Chapter 175: Wait Till I Get Back to Deal With You
Su Mu really wanted to tell him it was over because these past few days, whenever they met, she could always spot the desire in his eyes for her. She clearly felt the changes in his body, felt his desires. Su Mu wasn’t intending to refuse, but the fact was, it hadn’t ended yet.
Fu Shinian could tell the answer from her expression, and he frowned slightly:
"It hasn’t ended yet?"
Su Mu could tell it wasn’t an annoyed tone, but one of concern. Usually, her period would end by the fifth day, but this time it was already the seventh day and it still hadn’t ended. What’s more, Su Mu found it odd because from the beginning to the end, the flow had been very light, always just a tiny bit each time.
"Not yet," Su Mu said softly.
But Fu Shinian felt something was not quite right and decided to make a phone call right away. When he took out his mobile phone, Su Mu knew what he was going to do and stopped him:
"It’s just a bit longer than usual, which is normal. Don’t make such a fuss."
"Normal or not, we need a doctor to make that call."
Su Mu couldn’t stop him, and she watched helplessly as he dialed Qiao Yu’s number. When he explained the situation, even though Qiao Yu wasn’t in front of her, Su Mu felt her face burning with embarrassment.
Seeing her expression, Fu Shinian couldn’t help but smile, reaching out to tousle her hair. This gesture from Fu Shinian caused Su Mu a moment of stupor. Although they had been married for two years and had been even more intimate, such casual affection had never happened before.
Fu Shinian, who was still on the phone with Qiao Yu, didn’t notice the slight smile that flickered across Su Mu’s lips. By the time he turned back to look at her, Su Mu had already regained her composure.
Qiao Yu on the other end of the phone was rather speechless:
"Fu Shinian, I’m a surgeon, a surgeon, not a gynecologist. How would I know why Su Mu’s menstruation is lasting so long this time? Can’t you stop asking me about everything? I’m not omniscient."
"The medical university didn’t differentiate between internal medicine and gynecology, right? Even if there were specializations, it would be after entering the workforce. Don’t tell me you didn’t learn anything in college, because if that’s the case, I might consider kicking you out of the hospital."
Qiao Yu: "..."
After a pause, Qiao Yu analyzed for Fu Shinian:
"How late is Su Mu’s period this time?"
"About a week or so?"
"And what about the flow?"
At this, Fu Shinian looked at Su Mu, "Is the flow heavy or light?"
Su Mu: "...Light."
She felt that at this moment, blushing was an understatement; she felt she couldn’t ever face Qiao Yu again.
"Are there any other discomforts?"
Su Mu shook her head.
Fu Shinian relayed the details, and Qiao Yu responded:
"I think it’s probably a hormonal imbalance. It shouldn’t have much impact, considering that Su Mu has been in a recovery phase for a while, both emotionally and physically. I think this irregularity is actually quite normal. Of course, if you don’t trust me, you can come to the hospital for a detailed examination tomorrow; that would be more accurate."
Fu Shinian agreed with a murmur and then hung up the phone. He looked at Su Mu:
"We’re going to the hospital for a check-up tomorrow."
Having heard most of Qiao Yu’s words due to the proximity, Su Mu protested, "Didn’t Qiao Yu say it’s nothing serious?"
"He’s a surgeon, not a specialist. Can you really trust what he says?"
Su Mu: "..."
Fu Shinian left early in the morning, while Su Mu slept in until almost 9:00 AM. When she woke up, she noticed a note Fu Shinian had left on the bedside table: Remember to go to the hospital.
She smiled slightly.
Life had been very peaceful recently, so peaceful that she wished it could continue forever like this. All she wanted was such a stable life, with someone to accompany her, someone to care for her.
If she could always keep things as they were now, Su Mu thought, she would never regret her initial decision.
Lately, she seemed to be growing more fond of sleeping, and slept deeply; when Fu Shinian left, she had no idea whatsoever. When she went to the restroom and discovered her period had ended, Su Mu again suspected that her "relative" was probably just opposing Fu Shinian.
Thinking so made her face flush again; looking at herself in the mirror, Su Mu quickly stopped her imagination, splashed her face with cold water, and calmed down.
It was Saturday, and since Zhou Yaxian and Wen Songyan were on business trips, Su Mu had to go to the Wen Family in the morning to keep Wen Shaoyuan company. However, because she woke up late, she didn’t arrive until 10:00 AM. Wen Shaoyuan was holding a book, reading on the living room sofa, but upon seeing her, he hurriedly put down his book and ran over:
"Su Sis, is it very cold outside?"
Su Mu took off her coat, "It’s okay."
"It’s a pity it’s not snowing. Otherwise, we could build a snowman together."
Su Mu checked the weather forecast on her phone, then showed it to Wen Shaoyuan, "It looks like it might snow next week. If it snows enough, Su Sis and you can build a snowman together."
"Great," Wen Shaoyuan was beaming, "I knew Su Sis is the best to me."
They hadn’t been reviewing his homework for long when Su Mu’s phone rang. After a glance, she instructed Wen Shaoyuan to continue working on the exercises. Wen Shaoyuan gave her a reassuring look, allowing her to take the call in the hallway. When she pressed the answer button, Fu Shinian’s voice mingled with airport announcements and the noise of the crowd came through:
"Did you go to the hospital?"
Su Mu didn’t answer but instead asked, "Have you arrived?"
"Yes, but you haven’t answered my question."
Su Mu: "...It’s Saturday."
Even though there were doctors on duty in the hospital, the senior ones would be off.
"I can make a phone call and make special arrangements for you."
"There’s no need," Su Mu stopped him, "Today, Shaoyuan’s grandparents are on a business trip, he is home alone, and I came to keep Shaoyuan company at the Wen Family."
Fu Shinian was silent on the phone for a few seconds, and Su Mu wasn’t sure if he was angry. She softly called out:
"Shinian?"
"Su Mu," he said, "when will you start putting your own issues first? Shaoyuan is important, but isn’t your health important too?"
Although it was a reproach, it sounded warm to Su Mu’s ears, and she replied:
"I’ll go on Monday, and besides, my relative has already left."
Fu Shinian was silent for a few more seconds on the other end of the phone. Just when Su Mu thought he had hung up, his slightly plaintive voice came through, and he said:
"So, your relative despises me?"
Su Mu laughed softly without replying, while Fu Shinian however was itching with frustration:
"Wait till I get back to deal with you."
