Chapter 91: Chapter 91: Whether to Continue or Not
Lu Jun supported Ye An’an as they left.
The general manager of the shopping mall turned to Lin Qian with dissatisfaction, "You are Lin Qian, the new manager of the MXL counter, aren’t you? Why can’t you handle issues properly? Later on, I’ll call your regional manager. You guys can discuss it among yourselves on how to resolve this issue. Don’t tarnish the reputation of the mall or cause unnecessary trouble."
"Okay, I apologize for the inconvenience caused."
Even though Lin Qian felt indignant inside, she knew there was no point in arguing.
The mall wouldn’t care whether the customers were in the wrong because customers are considered kings.
They cared only about the outcome, wanting the incident to be settled quickly without negatively affecting the mall.
After they stepped out of the office, Chen Fei was visibly upset, "We really encountered a weird couple. It’s clear that they came here to make trouble. Maybe the watch they have is a high imitation, and they came here deliberately to extort money."
Hearing this, Lin Qian stopped in her tracks and turned to look silently at Chen Fei.
Chen Fei paused, confused, "Manager Lin, why are you looking at me like that?"
"Chen Fei, how many years have you been at the MXL counter?"
"Uh, three years."
"Three years, that’s not a short time."
Lin Qian began, "Yet the way you just spoke to the customer in the store was like someone who has just stepped into the workforce, inexperienced in communication, choosing words that customers would dislike. Chen Fei, today’s incident escalated to this point largely due to how you spoke."
"Manager Lin, are you blaming me?"
Chen Fei said with a sense of grievance: "But I feel that the couple simply came to pick a fight; even if we had tried to appease them with kind words, they wouldn’t have stopped."
"Chen Fei, do you still not realize your own mistake?"
Lin Qian said patiently, "We are in the service industry, and customers are kings. Even if they come to our store to pick a fight, we should communicate with them calmly, trying everything possible to extinguish their anger, not let ourselves vent our frustrations and ignite conflict."
Does she not know that couple didn’t look like easy targets?
No matter what, it was unacceptable for them, the brand representatives, to be the ones to start the conflict.
There were other customers around, and from their perspective, they would all side with the couple.
"Oh, I understand now, Manager Lin. I will reflect on my mistakes today."
Chen Fei obediently admitted her mistake, and Lin Qian smiled slightly, walking back to the store.
It was then that her cellphone rang.
Lin Qian pulled out her phone to see a call from the regional manager, Du Qian.
She gestured for Chen Fei to go ahead into the store while she moved aside to answer the call.
The moment she connected, Du Qian’s interrogative voice came through.
"Lin Qian, what’s going on? The mall manager called me, saying not only did you fail to resolve the customer complaint, but you also knocked the customer to the ground? Can you even handle things properly?"
Lin Qian: "..."
It felt like swallowing a bitter pill with no way to express her frustration.
Lin Qian took a deep breath, "Manager Du, listen to my explanation, this situation..."
"You don’t need to explain."
Du Qian cut off Lin Qian, "The mall manager has already explained the entire sequence of events to me. Now, I require you to immediately go to the hospital and apologize to the customer, then take back the damaged watch, and promise them a new replacement in some time. As for the cost of the repair, you’ll pay for it!"
What!
She had to pay for the repairs!
Lin Qian’s face changed, "Manager Du, this matter wasn’t my fault, you can’t..."
"Lin Qian, do you even want to continue working? As a manager, you not only failed to solve the problem when it arose, but you also exacerbated it! You caused trouble once already just after you returned to the country, and now again! Lin Qian, if you’re not capable, then resign early and get lost! We at the MXL counter don’t keep idlers."
The call ended there.
Lin Qian stared at the disconnected call, feeling her chest heave with anger.
She knew that Manager Du was not pleased with her being assigned by the headquarters to the Su City branch.
Perhaps her preference was for the former assistant manager, Shen Bing.
So, was she deliberately making things difficult for her now?
Why should she have to pay for the repairs?
That piece of glass alone, even at the internal price, would cost at least twenty to thirty thousand, wouldn’t it?
"Why should she be the one taken for a sucker!"
So infuriating!
Lin Qian stuffed her phone into her pocket angrily, her face overcome with gloom.
Her heart ached, radiating pain into her arm.
Lin Qian frowned, touching her sore arm and recalling the recent scene -- she couldn’t shake the feeling that the woman had deliberately pinched her flesh with her nails so she’d reflexively let go.
Were they really there just to pick a fight?
But why?
Thinking about that wristwatch, just as Chen Fei had said, the glass face couldn’t possibly break that easily unless it was deliberately scratched with something sharp.
Which meant, maybe they had intentionally scratched the watch and then come to the store to find fault?
What were they really after?
Lin Qian found it utterly perplexing.
She pushed open the store door, and a group of employees came up to greet her.
"Manager Lin, what did the district manager say?" Chen Fei asked.
"He told me to apologize to them and promised to replace their watch with a new one. As for the repair costs of the old watch, that’s going on my account."
Lin Qian reported this with a twist of her brows.
"What? How can the district manager put the repair costs on you?"
"Yeah, it was clearly those two people’s fault, so why should you, Manager Lin, have to bear the responsibility?"
"Exactly. Those two seemed shady at first glance. They could very well be someone sent deliberately to cause trouble."
"..."
The employees buzzed with discussion, all upset on Lin Qian’s behalf.
Lin Qian’s delicate eyebrows knotted slightly, listening to her employees’ chatter, musing over something.
Deliberately causing trouble?
And she was the one who ended up footing the bill?
Could it be that they were targeting her?
"Manager Lin, I’m so sorry. If it weren’t for me speaking without thinking, you wouldn’t have to..." Chen Fei looked at Lin Qian regretfully.
Lin Qian shook her head, "Forget it, just be careful next time."
What’s done is done, playing the blame game was pointless.
She’d better go to the hospital to see those two first.
Lin Qian found Ye An’an’s purchase information, called to confirm which hospital she was at now, and planned to visit her in the afternoon.
After some thought, she bought a recording pen during the lunch break.
She was not going to let herself be scammed just like that.
She had to find out the truth.
At the hospital.
In the VIP ward, Lu Jun massaged Ye An’an’s back as she sat on the sofa. His reasonably handsome face bore nothing but a pleasing smile.
"Sis, you really played your part well today."
"Ha! I only agreed to help with this act for your sake."
Ye An’an rested her legs on the coffee table in front of her and grabbed Lu Jun’s hand, casting a seductive glance back at him, "Jun, tell me, how will you repay me?"
Lu Jun willingly took Ye An’an’s hand and brought it to his mouth to kiss it, "Hey, sis, I’ll take good care of you tonight."
"Giggling, I’ll be waiting."
Ye An’an pulled her hand away, touching Lu Jun’s face with a flirtatious expression.
"Sis, I promise you’re going to have a blast tonight."
Lu Jun turned her body back to face him properly and continued massaging her back, his mouth sweet-talking, though a hint of disgust flickered through his eyes.
If it weren’t for that person, he wouldn’t bother serving Ye An’an, a woman past her prime!
