Chapter 152: Chapter 152 Trapped in Desperation 3_1
Mu Yingchen drove frantically, his eyes frighteningly grim as bulging veins covered his hands tightly gripping the steering wheel.
No one could fathom his mood at the moment; if Wanwan met with any mishap, he would never forgive himself for his carelessness!
Mu Feng’s call came through again, and he instantly answered.
"Brother, last night, people from the Black Wolf Gang kidnapped someone in the East District. From their description, it must be Wanxia without a doubt—" Mu Feng’s voice was also filled with worry.
Although he didn’t know much about the underworld, he knew enough. After all, for people like them, it was essential to have a foothold in both the underworld and the legal world.
But the Black Wolf Gang was a unique entity; they were like a cancer in C City’s underworld that even the police couldn’t handle.
All because their leader came from an organization that dated back quite some time.
That organization was not only the boss of C City’s underworld; it also led various factions across different regions. But now, many are unaware of this organization’s existence — the Qinglong Association!
Thus, the Black Wolf Gang was not to be trifled with. It was rumored they had caused quite a trouble, hunted by the police everywhere, but they always managed to escape.
But—how did Wanxia fall into their hands? This was going to be troublesome!
Mu Feng knew this, but how could Mu Yingchen not know? He knew even more than Mu Feng.
The Black Wolf Gang dared to do anything, and they never lacked money. What they were looking for was thrill, toying with people’s lives!
No wonder he and Su Wanxia’s father hadn’t received a single call demanding money. Their goal was not money at all!
He shivered uncontrollably—if that was the case, then his Wanwan was in danger!
He had never feared anything, but now, he was scared, incredibly terrified from the bottom of his heart.
"I know—" his voice was chillingly cold.
"Brother, where are you now? You absolutely must not act impulsively; we have no idea where their lair is. We must first think of a---"
"I know where they are, I’m on my way!"
Mu Feng spoke anxiously, but before he could finish, Mu Yingchen coldly cut him off.
Yet Mu Yingchen’s words scared Mu Feng considerably.
"Brother, why are you being so rash? They have everything they need; do you realize how dangerous it is for you to go alone!" Normally the most composed, Mu Feng couldn’t help but yell over the phone.
"Every minute Wanwan stays in their hands increases her danger!" Mu Yingchen said and then disconnected the call.
Black Wolf Gang! No matter how venomous they are, as long as they dare touch his Wanwan, he would eradicate them from this world completely!
And the disconnected Mu Feng was burning with urgency at that moment, knowing his brother going there alone was akin to courting death!
Kang Xiaolan heard their conversation clearly from the side. She didn’t know what the Black Wolf Gang was, but she knew Wanxia was in danger, and the situation seemed dire.
"Feng!" She looked at Mu Feng with a worried expression, his face somber.
Mu Feng lifted his head, guided her to the sofa, and comforted her, "Don’t worry, leave everything to us. Stay at home and don’t go anywhere, understand?"
"Yes, but Wanxia—"
"Rest assured, the brother knows where she is, he’s on his way, and I’m heading there now. Just stay put at home."
"Okay, then you must also be careful," said Kang Xiaolan with a worried face.
How could Wanxia have been kidnapped just like that?
"Yeah, I’m leaving."
"Mhm."
Once Mu Feng stepped out of the door, his face set with utmost gravity, he began to pinpoint Mu Yingchen’s location. Seeing the display pointing east, he immediately made several calls.
Then, without hesitation, he opened the car door and sped toward the East District like the wind.
At the junction of the East Third Ring, seven or eight black luxury cars were quietly parked by the road.
He parked his car, rolled down the window, and then a person clad in a black suit wearing black sunglasses stepped out from one of the cars.
Walking over to Mu Feng, he nodded politely.
Mu Feng nodded as a signal, "Get in the car."
Without another word, the person opened the door and got in.
"Did you bring everything?" he asked.
"I did," the person replied.
"Good, let’s go," Mu Feng said, then started the car and sped off in the direction Mu Yingchen had gone.
Su Wanxia did not know how long she had been lying on the ground again; she only felt her body getting hotter and her head increasingly groggy.
Just then, the heavy door was opened again.
Startled, she weakly closed her eyes.
By the sound of footsteps, only two people seemed to have entered this time.
"Damn it, why isn’t this chick waking up?" a man cursed.
"Hey! Doesn’t her complexion look off?" another one said.
Su Wanxia felt them draw closer to her, and her body instantly tensed, her heart hanging in mid-air.
"It seems like she has a fever?" the person added.
"It seems so. In this freezing cold, even you couldn’t handle lying on the ground all night."
"That’s true, but she’s still not waking up, how are we going to explain this to the boss? If we don’t bring her over before tonight, we’re the ones who will be in trouble."
"Exactly! What should we do?" The two men continued discussing next to Su Wanxia.
"How about we feed her some medicine? As long as she wakes up, we can take her to the boss’s room and be done with it."
"That’s a good idea," the person agreed.
"Then go get her some medicine quickly, I’ll watch her here," Su Wanxia felt this voice sounded a bit familiar as if she had heard it amongst the previous group of people.
"Alright, I’m on it."
The person said and walked out, then she heard the door close heavily.
Her heart grew even more anxious since there was still one person standing by her side.
Now it was just the two of them in here. If he harbored any sinister thoughts, with her current physical condition, she would not have the slightest chance to resist.
She tried to make her breathing as steady as possible, not letting him notice anything unusual about her being awake.
The person took another step closer, and her heart thumped so hard it felt like it would burst out of her chest.
But it seemed like the person just stood there motionless, staring at her.
The emptiness of the room grew even more silent, but this silence made Su Wanxia feel even more panicked and uneasy.
Suddenly, the person spoke--
"Open your eyes, I know you’re awake," he said, his voice gaining a trace of clarity unlike the sharp and frivolous tone he had used when speaking with the other person.
Su Wanxia’s breath hitched, and her eyes flung open in turmoil.
A slightly refined face appeared before her, which took her by surprise.
She had thought that upon opening her eyes, she would see a vicious, grotesque, and indecent visage.
Unexpectedly---his appearance was nothing like that of a bad guy.
Could it be that such a façade was better for confusing one’s vision and deception?
The person seemed to notice the change in her expression.
"You’re Su Wanxia?"
Su Wanxia was shocked again, but then she remembered they had kidnapped her. Knowing her name wasn’t that strange after all.
