Chapter 232: Why Does He Look So Scared?

Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Why Does He Look So Scared?

"Anthony! Where the hell are you? Help me up!" she screamed.

Anthony was scared out of his wits. It took him a moment before he moved and rushed over to help Camille.

As soon as she stood up, everyone in the room stared at her in shock.

Camille noticed the strange silence and frowned.

"What are you all looking at? Never seen someone fall before?" She growled and gritted her teeth.

She grabbed her waist instinctively and tried to rub the numb spot on her butt. Her hand brushed over something strange—a tear in the fabric.

A sinking feeling hit her.

Why are my pants torn?

"Anthony, what’s going on with my pants?" she asked.

The tear was behind her, so she couldn’t see it and had no choice but to ask him.

Anthony’s eyes widened as he let out a panicked yell. "Ms. Nelsen, y-your pants... they’re ripped!"

When they looked closer, they were stunned. There was a two-inch tear right on the back of Camille’s pants. It didn’t seem too bad if she stayed still. But the moment she moved, most of her butt was exposed.

If she hadn’t been wearing underwear, it would’ve been a total disaster.

Anthony panicked and quickly took off his shirt to cover her up.

Camille realized something was wrong and ran out of the hospital in shame.

Kane watched with confusion at first. He didn’t think the rip was that bad. But seeing her so embarrassed actually made him feel good.

"Kane, are you alright? That woman’s insane! She even tried to hurt a kid. How awful," Russell said, clearly worried.

"I’m fine. But she’s the one who’s in trouble now," Kane replied.

He pulled out his phone and called back the bee that had made Camille fall earlier.

The bee looked so real and made a buzzing sound that could fool anyone.

Kane held out his hand, and the little bee landed neatly on his palm.

Then, he passed it to Russell.

The boy grinned and said, "Uncle Russell, I made this little bee a few days ago while I was playing with Uncle Philip at Silver Crest Global District. It has real bee venom. If it stings someone, their face will puff up like a pig’s head in less than an hour."

Russell blinked in surprise. "Seriously? That strong? You’re something else, Kane!"

Kane chuckled. "It’s really thanks to Uncle Philip. Want to know a secret? Uncle Philip has a storage room full of cool stuff."

Russell leaned closer. "Are you sure you should be telling me that?"

"Why not? We’re all friends here," Kane said with a straight face. "I even told Uncle Philip about your collection. I mentioned you’ve got a few sets of Celadon."

Kane looked completely innocent. He wasn’t about to admit he spilled the beans by accident.

Russell looked like he was about to blow up. Did this kid really go around telling people how rich I am?

Before he could say anything, Kane quickly said, "Don’t worry. The venom isn’t strong. Her face will only stay swollen for half a day. So, Uncle Russell, be nice to her, okay?"

Russell sighed. "She already learned her lesson. What she got was even worse than going against Ms. Chantelle."

Meanwhile, Daniel was resting upstairs in his room at Western Hill Villa. The medicine had helped, but his face was still pale from the allergic reaction.

Suddenly, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He took it out and answered it instinctively.

"Sir, Ms. Nelsen is awake," Ashton said. "But she keeps asking for you. Should I—"

Daniel cut him off. "Tell her I’m not feeling well. From now on, you’ll handle everything between the Wilson and Nelsen families."

Ashton blinked. "Wait... you’re not going to see her?"

"She’s not important," Daniel replied. "No need to cause more problems. Chantelle doesn’t like her anyway."

"Sir, do you know Mrs. Wilson’s been jealous this whole time? Did you finally figure it out?" Ashton asked, clearly happy that Daniel was starting to see the truth.

"What are you talking about? I’ve been clear-headed all along," Daniel shot back.

"My bad," Ashton replied, deciding not to push it any further.

Daniel changed the topic. "How’s Kane?"

Philip and Russell had already checked on the boy. They said he was okay, but it was better for him to stay in the hospital a bit longer. Daniel agreed, though he didn’t want to tell Chantelle as he knew she’d worry too much.

"Kane’s fine. Russell’s watching over him," Ashton answered. "But I heard Ms. Nelsen went to see him when she woke up. It turned into a big scene."

"What did you just say? Is Camille out of her mind? How could she bully a five-year-old?" Daniel shouted.

"There was just an argument. Kane’s okay," Ashton said quickly. "It’s Ms. Nelsen who’s in bad shape... Sir? Are you still there?"

But the line had already gone dead.

Worried, Daniel yanked the IV needle out of his arm, grabbed his coat, and rushed out the door.

Downstairs in the kitchen, Thea and Philip had finally stopped arguing and gone to rest.

Chantelle looked up a recipe and decided to make chicken soup. She wanted everyone to have something warm not just Daniel.

Just as she was about to start, she heard someone rushing out.

She glanced out the window and saw Daniel heading to his car.

It’s late. Where’s he going?

She was curious at first, but when she saw the panic on his face, her chest tightened.

Why does he look so scared?

Without thinking, she grabbed her keys and followed him.

Russell stayed by Kane’s side in the hospital room. He kept an eye on the door, afraid Camille might come back and cause more trouble.

He told himself he wouldn’t let her get anywhere near the boy again.

When Daniel rushed into the room, he was relieved to see Kane sitting on Russell’s lap, munching on egg tarts and sipping chocolate milk. A game was playing on the TV.

"Are you okay, Kane? Did you get hurt?" Daniel asked as he hurried to his side.

Kane was surprised. He didn’t think his dad would come, especially not this soon.

He could see it in Daniel’s face that he had been really worried.

Kane slowly came back to his senses. Without thinking much, he said, "Dad, I’m okay. Don’t worry."

He reached out his small hand and gently touched Daniel’s face, trying to comfort him.
