Chapter 223: Our Scumbag Daddy Is Cheating

Chapter 223: Chapter 223: Our Scumbag Daddy Is Cheating

Even though Kane was only five, he was good at taking care of himself. As long as he wasn’t picking on anyone, Chantelle usually didn’t worry.

Once they were in the car, she called Mr. Charles and asked him to make sure Kane had dinner. He needed proper nutrition to grow up strong.

Based on how fired up Thea was, Chantelle had a feeling they wouldn’t be back until after dinner.

Back at home, Kane waited until he heard the front door shut. Then he let out a soft sigh and ran to the sofa.

He reached under it and pulled out his hidden kid’s phone. The call was still running. He ended it quickly, then opened Instagram to message Rai in private.

Kane chatted to Railer, "Rai, something terrible has happened! Our Scumbag Daddy is cheating!"

Railer had just come out of the treatment room when his phone buzzed with the message.

He glanced at the screen and frowned a little.

Philip was busy checking data on his tablet, but he saw Railer’s expression had changed.

"Rai, are you okay? Feeling hungry? Let’s go have dinner at Auntie Thea’s place." Philip was clearly using dinner as an excuse to visit her.

Philip had gotten a text from Thea earlier that afternoon, scolding him and calling him a scumbag. She even told him not to come over for meals anymore.

He had no idea what he did wrong. She blocked him before he could even ask the reason behind her anger.

Still, no matter what it was, he planned to apologize first.

"Uncle Philip, did Daddy get a new girlfriend recently?" Railer asked suddenly.

"Huh? No way," Philip raised his face and looked into Railer’s. "He’s completely devoted to Chantie. He wouldn’t have time for another woman."

"Then why is he having an affair?" Railer asked in a serious tone.

"What? Who told you that? Who’s spreading lies about your dad?"

"Mommy says it," Railer replied quickly, his little face scrunching into a deeper frown.

Philip’s eyes widened in shock. His mind went blank as he stared at the boy, in front of him and he was speechless.

What’s going on? Daniel is cheating on Chantelle? That can’t be... can it?

Philip’s hands shook from how nervous he was. He called Daniel right away.

Daniel picked up after a few rings.

"Daniel, be honest. Did you upset Chantie today?"

"Yeah... just a little," Daniel said, sounding oddly cheerful and even a bit smug.

"A little? What does that even mean? Did you actually cheat on her?" Philip lowered his voice and covered the phone, not wanting Railer to hear it.

"Did Chantie tell you?" Daniel asked, still sounding happy. "Don’t worry. It was just a small misunderstanding. We’re fine now. I think Chantie finally got jealous because of me."

Just thinking about how she argued with Camille because of him made Daniel feel giddy. He’d been in a great mood ever since.

Even getting a call from Philip felt like a good thing. He wanted to share his happiness with him.

I still matter to her, he thought proudly.

"Are you sure things are fine? I heard they’re out with other men because you cheated!"

"They’re with men?" Daniel’s voice turned sharp. "Do those guys have a death wish?"

His mood flipped instantly.

I just confirmed my wife still loves me and now someone’s trying to ruin that?

Who gave them the guts to ruin our relationship?

"Daniel, I’m seriously curious. What did you do to make Chantie so mad? She’s even thinking about marrying someone else now!" Philip asked, really puzzled.

To him, Daniel used to be a hopeless romantic when it came to Chantelle.

How did he end up acting so dumb?

"Philip, Camille came back," Daniel explained immediately. "She showed up at Chantelle’s Charity Association and caused a scene. But Chantelle didn’t care about her connections. She gave Camille a hard lesson and scolded her badly for trying to destroy our family. Chantie was really amazing!"

Daniel sounded thrilled just talking about it. He was still feeling the rush from seeing his wife stand up for their family.

Look at my wife—she’s amazing!

"Camille? Isn’t she the Nelsen family’s daughter who always wanted to marry you?" Philip asked, sensing something was wrong.

"Yeah, that’s her. She’s the one representing the Nelsen family in our project. I only found out recently."

"Even if she’s the representative, why did Chantie accuse her of trying to ruin a family? Daniel, are you hiding something?"

"Uh... she might’ve called herself my fiancée in front of Chantelle."

The more Daniel thought about it, the more anxious he felt.

Was Chantie really that mad at me?

Panic started to creep in.

"She’s your fiancée? Camille has no shame," Philip said. "Sure, there was a marriage deal with the Nelsen family ages ago, but you’re married now. That agreement means nothing. Why is she still chasing after you?"

"She’s just young and a bit spoiled, of course, she often gets everything she wants. Let’s not take her too seriously."

"She’s young? Daniel, isn’t Chantie young too? They’re probably the same age. So why should your wife be the one to act maturely? Do you even hear yourself?" Philip sharply taunted him.

He completely understood where Chantelle was coming from.

"I didn’t mean it like that. I was just—" Daniel tried to explain, but Philip cut him off.

"Yeah? You were just what? It’s unfair to your wife! Why should she deal with someone bullying her? Why should she need to adjust while Camille calls herself your fiancée? Camille even caused a scene at her workplace! Daniel, do you really want to be with Chantie or not? No wonder she’s mad at you!"

It was the first time Philip had ever raised his voice at Daniel.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He needed to let off some steam and maybe forget about Chantie’s agony for a while.

Any younger guy could treat Chantie better than Daniel! Philip thought bitterly.

"Philip! H-Hello?" Daniel was fuming but before he could say anything else, Philip had already hung up.

The beeping tone on the phone made his frustration worse.

He was shocked by Philip’s scolding but deep down, he knew Philip was right. He realized Philip’s tantrums were reasonable.

A fear crept into Daniel’s chest.

It finally hit him. He had really messed up this time.

"Ashton!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Find out where Mrs. Wilson is. Now!"
