Chapter 218: Aren’t You Happy To See Me?
Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Aren’t You Happy To See Me?
"Yes, everything’s clear. Our camera is top-grade. It records both video and sound. I can promise the quality is great."
Calvin said it loud enough for Camille to hear it on purpose.
He was clearly siding with Chantelle in the argument.
"Good. We need to keep the recording so no one can twist the truth or damage the association’s name."
As Chantelle said that, she glanced at Camille.
"You awful people! Are you trying to frame Ms. Nelsen? I’ve had enough! Do you think you can just bully us like that? Men, come here and wreck this entire place. We’re not letting anyone drag Ms. Nelsen’s name through the mud!"
Anthony placed his hands on his waist and told the bodyguards behind him to move.
Camille stood behind him, watching quietly. She didn’t try to stop him.
Chantelle saw the bodyguards walking toward her. Her face even grew darker and she clenched her fists.
"Ms. Nelsen, are you trying to go against the association?"
"You started this problem. Don’t blame me for fighting back. Go! Don’t let any of them leave. If this panel can’t see real talent, then they don’t deserve their seats."
Camille stared at Chantelle with an arrogant look in her eyes as she gave the order.
She couldn’t accept that someone like Chantelle was the Chairman of the Global Philanthropy Association. She wanted to teach her a lesson and show her what true power looked like in a world ruled by wealthy families.
"Everyone, Ms. Nelsen gave the order. Go get them!"
Just a moment ago, Anthony wasn’t sure about Camille’s stance after being humiliated.
But now that she gave the signal, he didn’t hold back. He charged forward and led his men to start the attack.
He went straight for Chantelle and was clearly making her his main target.
Calvin quickly stepped in front of Chantelle and kicked Anthony hard in the chest, sending him flying.
"Ow! You... You kicked me!" Anthony yelled.
He crashed into a few of his own men as he flew backward.
The bodyguards fell like dominoes and nearly knocked Camille over.
Chantelle saw the chaos and felt her anger rising even more.
Everyone in Easthan surely thought that the only daughter of the Nelsen family was classy and kind, but Chantelle now saw how spoiled and reckless she really was.
It opened Chantelle’s eyes.
"If they want to use violence, then they better be ready for the consequences. Calvin, if you don’t take them down, I’m cutting your salary!"
"Got it, Ms. Chantelle!"
Calvin had held back for too long. Now that he had permission, he didn’t waste a second.
Chantelle pulled Professor Cox to the far corner of the room and sat down.
They silently watched as the flight started.
Camille saw her men getting beaten up, and it made her want to run.
But when she turned to the door, she realized it was locked. She had no way out.
Then she saw Chantelle, sitting calmly at the back, untouched and watching the fight without even blinking.
That made her even more furious.
"Ms. Chantelle, have you thought about what you’re doing? I’ll never forget this shame. The Nelsen family won’t let this slide!"
Camille stormed over to Chantelle and raised her hand to slap her.
But Chantelle grabbed her wrist tightly.
"So if your family won’t back off, why should I let you leave this place freely? If all of you die today, no one will know what really happened. My words will be the only truth."
A deadly look flashed across Chantelle’s face, making Camille’s heart skip a beat.
"You crazy bitch!"
"I won’t deny it. Sometimes, to deal with someone insane, you have to be even worse." Chantelle’s eyes turned cold as she shoved Camille’s arm away.
"Just wait! My fiancé will come for me. He’s the most powerful man in Easthan. You’ll surely beg for a quick death!"
"Oh? He’s the most powerful man in Easthan?"
"Now you know the truth. You might not be familiar with the Nelsen family, but there’s no way you haven’t heard of the Wilson family, right? You live in Easthan!"
"The Wilson family?" Chantelle raised an eyebrow. This was getting interesting.
She remembered the application she saw earlier on her way to the association.
Wait, could this woman be Joseph’s fiancée?
Chantelle thought to herself, That explains everything. I’ve always wondered how a killer like Joseph suddenly got into charity work. Turns out, he’s doing it for his future wife. Honestly, with how wicked Camille looks, she does match Joseph perfectly.
"Don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you know what’s good for you, you’d kneel in front of me now and admit you were wrong. Maybe then, I’ll ask my fiancé to spare you. If not, I swear, you and your whole family will suffer."
Camille saw the blank look on Chantelle’s face and assumed she had scared her.
She felt even more confident now, thinking she’d walk away unharmed.
But Chantelle was just quietly watching Camille embarrass herself.
Before she could reply, the door suddenly burst open with a loud bang.
A familiar voice came from outside.
"What’s going on here?"
"Daniel, thank goodness you’re here! These people are terrifying. I was so scared!"
As soon as Camille saw Daniel, she changed completely. She quickly grabbed Daniel’s arm like a helpless little rabbit, hoping for comfort.
It was honestly a ridiculous sight, and Chantelle felt like her eyes needed a break.
So this woman’s fiancé is Daniel? What a joke!
Back at the company, Daniel had heard that someone from the Nelsen family had shown up. Then came the news—something had happened at the Charity Association, and he was asked to stop the chaos.
At first, he didn’t want to get involved. But since they were business partners, he figured he should at least show up and handle it properly.
What bothered him most, though, was the fact that he suddenly remembered that Chantelle worked at the Charity Association.
Then, when Daniel arrived, he was stunned by what he saw inside the charity office. Bodyguards were lying all over the floor, and the one from the Nelsen family turned out to be the daughter herself.
"You’re the one the Nelsen family sent here?"
Daniel frowned and pulled back his arm to keep some space between him and Camille.
He was still standing at the door when Camille blocked him. While trying to move away from her, he didn’t notice Chantelle and Calvin sitting inside the room.
"That’s right. Why? Aren’t you happy to see me?"
Camille had a faint smile on her face and acted all playful.
She even tried to wrap her arm around Daniel again as they talked but the latter dodged her.
