Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 193: I Just Realized Someone Is Following Me

Chapter 193: Chapter 193: I Just Realized Someone Is Following Me

Daniel looked completely relaxed, grinning at his phone like a fool.

Something felt off!

"Sir, did something good happen?"

"Is it that obvious?"

"I can almost hear you laughing. So yes, it’s pretty obvious."

"I just realized someone’s following me."

"Huh? Who would dare do that?"

Ashton was stunned at first, then quickly became nervous.

What was going on with Mr. Wilson? Why did he sound happy about it?

"It’s my wife," Daniel said with a proud grin. "See this red dot? That’s her."

He held out his phone and pointed to the little symbol labeled My Wife.

"Erm... Hahaha. So it’s Mrs. Wilson." Ashton wanted to disappear on the spot.

He should’ve guessed. The only thing that could make Mr. Wilson smile like that was his wife secretly following him.

Ashton had just made a careless comment about her. Good thing Mr. Wilson didn’t take it seriously.

"Do you think she’s following me because she’s worried I’m at the bar?"

Daniel was clearly lost in his own little fantasy.

He had checked the data from the bracelet earlier and knew Chantelle had woken up from her nap.

Since then, Daniel kept wondering if she’d think of him—maybe send a message or something. But the ungrateful woman hadn’t reached out at all.

"Maybe. You’re injured, sir. Mrs. Wilson must be worried since you’re not supposed to drink," Ashton said, trying to please him and save his face.

"So... she’s only worried about my health?" Daniel stared at the red dot, deep in thought.

Here he was, thinking the ingrate was mad because she thought he was out screwing around with someone.

"Um..."

"Never mind. You won’t get it. You don’t have a wife."

That hit Ashton hard. He’d been single his whole life.

Daniel kept his eyes on the red dot still hovering nearby. Worried that Chantelle might be lost, he stood up and wanted to find her.

"Wait here for Joseph. I’ll be back soon."

"Huh? Sir, I don’t think that’s a good idea. I should come with you. Anything could happen in the bar, and you’re still injured..."

"It’s fine. Wait here."

Daniel gave a firm reply and walked out of the room.

Left alone, Ashton couldn’t relax. After a moment of hesitation, he decided to check outside.

But just as he reached the door, it swung open.

A few stunning women walked in.

Their perfume was so strong it hit him like a wave, leaving his mind completely blank.

"Oh, where are you going, Mr. Wilson? Are you upset we showed up late?"

"Come on, Mr. Wilson. We’ll drink with you."

"Don’t be shy. Come join us."

"Yeah, you’re already here. Might as well have some fun."

Before Ashton could react, the women grabbed him and dragged him back into the room as their heavy perfume clouded his senses.

Chantelle walked through the crowd while holding her phone tightly. But no matter how much she tried, it felt like she was stuck in the same spot.

She wasn’t getting any closer to Daniel. Just as she was growing annoyed, she ran straight into a wall of muscle.

Rubbing her forehead, she slowly looked up.

She was utterly stunned.

It was Joseph, right in front of her.

He was wearing a white blazer over a deep V-neck silk shirt.

Joseph had this mix of charm and style that worked well for him.

Chantelle had to admit, he looked good—at least until he opened his mouth. If only he didn’t talk so much, he might actually be perfect.

"Fancy running into you here, Chantie. All dressed up. Did you come just to see me?"

"You wish," Chantelle replied flatly and started walking past him.

But Joseph grabbed her arm before she could get far.

Chantelle tried to pull away, but Joseph leaned in and said softly into her ear.

"Don’t be in such a rush. I know you’re looking for Daniel. How about I take you to him?"

She was stunned. How did he know she was looking for Daniel?

"Oh? I didn’t know you liked spying on people, Jo."

"You’re doing the same, Chantie."

"How do you know Daniel’s here? Did you invite him?"

As Chantelle stared at Joseph, something came to her mind.

He had come here to meet someone even when his house was on fire. It would only make sense if that person were Daniel.

"Do you know, Chantie? I love how smart you are. Come on, I’ll take you to him." Joseph reached for her hand to lead the way, but she pulled her arm back.

"Let go. I can walk alone, Joseph."

"Okay, you’re the boss, Chantie." Joseph didn’t force her. He walked ahead, with Fred following behind him.

The stairs to the second floor were tucked away. Chantelle wouldn’t have seen them without Joseph’s help.

No wonder she kept walking in circles.

She was on the wrong floor the whole time.

With Chantelle trailing behind, Joseph climbed the stairs with a pleased smile on his face.

Chantelle glanced at the GPS on her phone to make sure she was heading the right way before continuing after him.

As they reached the second floor, the sound of playful, flirtatious voices echoed through the hallway.

"Just one sip, Mr. Wilson? I bet you can handle another shot for me."

"Mr. Wilson..."

The voices made it clear that Daniel was here. They seemed to be coming from a nearby room with the door slightly open.

Joseph stopped and glanced at Chantelle, clearly waiting to see how she’d react.

"Well, well. This is the guy you’d die for? Tsk, tsk. He sure knows how to charm the ladies," he said with a mocking smile at the corner of his lips.

He was clearly trying to make her feel stupid.

Chantelle wasn’t made of stone. Of course, the sight of those women bothered her.

She was instantly annoyed.

But deep down, Chantelle didn’t believe Daniel was that kind of man.

Still, she couldn’t deny she felt a little torn.

"Are you upset, Chantie? Come on, let’s go teach that bastard a lesson."

Joseph could see right through her. She never hid her feelings well.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her toward the room’s entrance.

"You brought me here just to show me this." Chantelle stopped walking. She turned and looked Joseph straight in the eyes.

"I just wanted you to see the truth," he said. "You gave your heart to the wrong guy. It should’ve been me."
