Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback -
Chapter 192: Following Daniel Secretly
Chapter 192: Chapter 192: Following Daniel Secretly
Fear and hopelessness swallowed her whole body.
Lying on the cold floor, she could hear the soft drip of her own blood.
In the darkness, Kate’s eyes stayed wide open.
As the minutes passed, her fear slowly twisted into hatred.
Chantelle... one day, I’ll make you pay for this. Every bit of pain and shame—I’ll return it a thousand times over.
Meanwhile, Chantelle arrived at Enchanteur Bar with Calvin.
They picked a spot with a clear view and took their seats.
Chantelle wore a shiny black dress and studded boots that matched the bar’s vibe.
Her hair was pulled into a high ponytail, and the light makeup she wore brought out her features, making her look sharp and stunning.
"Calvin, are you sure Joseph will show up tonight?" she asked right away.
"Yeah," Calvin nodded. "Our people said he’s meeting someone here at 8 PM."
"Did you find out who he’s going to meet here?"
"Not really. I only heard that Joseph’s house caught on fire recently. But he still didn’t cancel the meeting, so I guess the person must be important."
"Mmhm, I get it. Tell our men to keep watching him," Chantelle said after thinking for a moment.
"Yes, Ms. Chantelle. But are you sure we should make a move now? If we do, it’s like we’re starting a war with Joseph. We might be adding another enemy in Easthan."
"We’ve already been enemies for three years. He started it. He caused that car accident and spread lies about me. So he has no right to complain if I cause trouble now. I don’t care who he’s meeting today. It won’t end well for him!" Chantelle said, squinting her eyes.
She had just woken up from a nap when Calvin told her he got Joseph’s schedule.
She felt energized right away, changed her clothes, and rushed out. She was ready to mess with Joseph.
At first, Chantelle didn’t want to go against him. She believed he wasn’t someone to offend. Moreover, she was planning to leave Easthan, so she didn’t want to get involved in anything messy.
But this man was dangerous. He had ordered Lone Wolf to target Daniel many times.
Worse, he used her as a scapegoat. It was time to make him pay.
"Okay, stay here for now, Ms. Chantelle. I’ll head to the back and get things ready."
"Mmhm, be careful," she warned him.
Chantelle watched as Calvin walked toward the back door of the bar. Then she looked away and pulled out her phone. She was about to hack into the bar’s cameras. If Joseph showed up, she’d be able to find him immediately.
The bar was dark and loud, packed with people and blasting heavy metal music.
Even though Chantelle was already inside the bar, it wasn’t like she could search the whole place by herself.
She had already come up with a plan on her way here.
While she took out her phone, her eyes glanced at the bracelet on her wrist.
Chantelle felt a warm feeling rise inside her.
The bracelet looked like an upgraded version of the one Philip had made before.
Its design was much more refined.
Daniel must have slipped it onto my wrist while I was napping.
Since Philip always made reliable gadgets, Chantelle didn’t think twice about keeping it on when she noticed it.
Even though Chantelle believed she was perfectly fine, it still felt nice knowing someone was thinking about her.
Just as her thoughts drifted off, a notification flashed on her phone screen.
Kane?
That little troublemaker should be busy with his mobile games by now. Why was he messaging me all of a sudden?
Before she left, she had given the kids something to keep them busy so they’d stay home.
Oh right, Chantelle had also left Philip in charge of the house. He was basically the nanny now.
Even though she was a little puzzled, Chantelle closed the surveillance app and tapped on her Instagram account.
Kane had messaged her:
"Mommy! Mommy! Are you going on a date with Daddy again?"
"Why didn’t you take me? Am I not your favorite anymore?"
There were already two blue ticks, but Chantelle didn’t feel like replying. The troublemaker was just being dramatic. She was about to switch back to the surveillance feed when another message popped up.
"I have proof. Don’t act clueless, Mommy."
Kane then sent a cropped screenshot of a GPS map.
The map showed two red dots close together—maybe just 35 feet apart.
Chantelle blinked in surprise.
Was Daniel here too?
She quickly looked up and scanned the room.
But with how dark the bar was, it was hard to see anything clearly unless it was right in front of her.
Chantelle turned her eyes back to the chat with Kane.
She was online again.
She typed, "Can you send me your daddy’s GPS location, Kane?"
Kane quickly replied, "Huh? I thought you were with him?"
Chantelle answered, "There are too many people here. I lost your daddy."
Kane sent the GPS location.
But deep down, he didn’t believe his mom. He trusted his five-year-old instincts. He just didn’t have proof yet.
He typed, "Mommy, are you stalking Daddy because he went out to have fun without you?"
Even through the screen, Chantelle could feel how curious Kane was to know what she was up to.
She ignored the message and tapped the link. Then she opened the GPS tracking page and saw the blinking red dot.
Meanwhile, Daniel and Ashton reached the VIP lounge on the second floor of Enchanteur Bar.
"We’ve booked a private room for you, Mr. Wilson. Mr. Joseph is running late because of traffic, but he’ll be here soon," the server said, already waiting at the door.
Daniel gave a nod. "Alright. Lead the way."
"Of course. This way, please."
The server stayed polite and careful as he guided them to room V2188.
He opened the door and motioned for them to step inside. The server even kindly adjusted the room’s temperature to make it more comfortable.
The server didn’t stick around. After checking on them quickly, he left.
The room had a classy feel to it. Daniel walked over to the sofa and sat down, surprisingly calm and patient.
He looked at his phone and smiled.
Ashton stood nearby, full of curiosity.
Mr. Wilson was clearly in a great mood today—strange, considering he usually hated to wait for someone.
