Chapter 175: The Secret Base
Chapter 175: Chapter 175: The Secret Base
"Sir, don’t worry. Leon Network isn’t the only media company. We can find another one," Kingsley said as he arrived with breakfast.
When he saw the messy apartment, he tried to persuade Roman to calm down.
"It’s over! This is all Ruby’s fault! How could she try to kill Chantelle at a time like this?"
Roman couldn’t understand what Ruby was thinking.
All night, he kept wondering if marrying her had been a mistake.
She used to be pretty. But she never gave him a son. And now, she had even cheated on him.
If he had known who she really was, he would’ve never left Eliza Harvey for her.
"Sir, I have something to report about Madam," Kingsley said carefully.
"What is it? Don’t expect me to bail her out! I have no money!" Roman snapped angrily the moment Kingsley mentioned Ruby. He made it clear he wasn’t going to help her.
That bitch made me lose all that money. She deserves to suffer!
"S-Sir, when I went to the police station this morning, I found out someone bailed Madam out."
"What?! Who bailed her out? When did it happen?" Roman asked in a fury.
That woman! Why didn’t she come home after getting out? Did she run back to that bastard James?
"I don’t know either. The officers said it’s confidential. But at least Madam is out now. You don’t need to worry about her," Kingsley said, trying to calm him down.
"Right now, we should focus on fixing your public image. Leon Network said if we can’t control the backlash, you’ll have to pay ten times the penalty fee in the contract. That’s a huge amount."
Kingsley placed the breakfast in front of Roman while speaking.
Time was running out for Bently Corporation. The end of the month was near.
If Roman didn’t get new funding soon, Kingsley might lose his job too.
"Where is James Lowe now?" Roman asked. He didn’t want to face it, but he knew Kingsley was right.
He didn’t care who Ruby loved anymore. What mattered to him was what he loved—money.
No one was allowed to mess up his next plan.
"Our people have been watching him. He’s living in a terrace house outside the Fifth Ring Road."
"All these years, he and Ruby spent the Bently family’s money. Now it’s time to pay it back," Roman said coldly. "Kingsley, call our people. Let’s go find him. I know how to turn things around."
Roman gave a wicked smile. He grabbed a sandwich from the coffee table, took a bite, and walked out.
Kingsley didn’t dare waste time. He grabbed the rest of the sandwiches and milk, then followed behind.
Half an hour later, Roman broke the quiet morning at the terrace house.
James, still in deep sleep, was yanked out of bed by Roman’s men. The sudden cold woke him up immediately.
When he saw Brund and the others rushing in, James looked confused.
"Who are you? You know it’s illegal to break into my house!" he shouted, half-awake.
Then he noticed someone holding a video camera. He quickly tried to grab a shirt.
He fumbled to put on his pants, but before he could finish, Roman swiftly entered and kicked him hard.
"You shameless bastard! You seduced my wife and pushed her to hurt her own daughter! You’re out of your mind!"
"Roman Bently? Are you insane? Why did you bring people here so early? Ruby and I are in love. If you hadn’t gotten in the way, we would’ve been together a long time ago!"
After James saw who had come to his house, he argued back at Roman without backing down.
Roman grinned inside. James had said exactly what he wanted to hear. This reaction was all part of Roman’s plan.
"Beat this shameless bastard!"
The moment James talked back, Roman gave the order. His men rushed forward and started punching and kicking James.
"You dared to hurt my daughter! I’ll beat you to death!" Roman shouted, acting like a furious father.
At the same time, he kept signaling to Kingsley to make sure the camera caught everything. Roman wanted the whole scene recorded.
James was alone. He couldn’t fight back. All he could do was cover his head and try to protect himself.
After a few minutes, he was covered in bruises and wounds.
Once Roman was done with the video, he told his men to put the camera away.
Then, Roman walked over and kicked James hard in the groin.
"That’s what you get for going after my wife! Let’s see if you ever touch her again!" he yelled, kicking him again harder this time.
James curled up on the floor in pain. He felt like his manhood had been crushed. He had no strength left to fight back.
Humiliated and broken, James gritted his teeth and fainted.
Kingsley quickly intervened and stopped Roman, "Sir, stop! He’s already passed out. If you keep hitting him, he might die!"
"Hmph! He’s a shameless bastard. He deserves to die!" Roman said, then spit on James without holding back.
"Did you record everything?" Roman asked, breathing heavily. It took him a while to calm down.
"Yes, Sir. I already asked someone to edit it. We’ll have it ready to post soon. Should I contact Leon Network now?"
"No need," Roman said. "The internet moves fast. We can post it ourselves."
"Go make an account called The Father of the Rich Lady. We’ll go live soon."

At Western Hill Villa, Daniel had a peaceful sleep beside Chantelle.
Sleeping with someone you love really felt different. Even the dreams were sweet.
When Daniel woke up, the sky was already bright.
He looked at Chantelle in his arms and gently kissed her forehead.
Then, he carefully pulled his arms away and got out of bed.
After a few hours of rest, he felt much better.
It was time to see Lone Wolf.
Downstairs, Ashton was already waiting.
He was worried about Daniel’s health but knew he couldn’t stop him once he had made up his mind.
Ashton had everything ready before Daniel came down.
In less than ten minutes, Daniel and his team had left the city.
They were heading to their base at North Hill, hidden behind Brittin Memorial Garden.
Though close in name, the base was still several miles away from the garden itself.
It was built deep in the forest, using strong bricks.
From a distance, the three-story building was hidden behind thick tree branches.
It looked like a secret base.
