Mr. Bo, Madam Is Pregnant! -
Chapter 90 Fiancée
Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Fiancée
"Crack!" A sudden shattering sound jolted the atmosphere.
Many gazes turned in this direction.
Su Lu was slower to react; she had just been about to take a sip of the lemon water in her cup because, just as Tang Cheng had said, such speed and passion, the surge of adrenaline from the activity, really did leave one’s mouth dry and tongue parched.
But before she could bring the cup to her lips, Bo Jingshen snatched it away with a swift move.
Only then did she realize, from the moment Tang Cheng had taken a seat on the nearby sofa, Bo Jingshen’s mood became perilously low, as if even the temperature had dropped with it.
"Bo..." Su Lu opened her mouth to speak.
Crack, Bo Jingshen had already smashed the cup.
His eyes suddenly filled with bloodshot threads, those almost crimson-looking pupils startled Su Lu.
But she knew, this emotion did not seem to be directed at her.
Su Lu fell silent and turned her gaze towards Tang Cheng.
Inexplicably, a sense of guard rose within her—whatever could drive Bo Jingshen to such a state in an instant, whether a friend or a foe, was worth being wary of.
Bo Jingshen stared at Tang Cheng, at the smile on his face—as if some ferocious beast was watching an entity that posed a threat to itself, almost as if it wanted to pounce at any moment and tear the opponent to shreds.
Tang Cheng’s smile slightly receded, his lips still curving in a gentle arc, but the warmth was obviously gone, his voice cool and distant, "Even for a stranger you’ve only met once, isn’t your attitude a bit too impolite? Jingshen, it has never been me who’s provoked you, so why take it out on me? Is it just because I come from Beijing that I’m in your way?"
When he said this, the gentle arc of Tang Cheng’s mouth didn’t fade, but the voice lost the cheerfulness of earlier, turning noticeably colder.
No wonder, people like him, fundamentally similar to Jiang Li, emitted a bright and gentle aura when they were in good spirits, making others feel as if there’s no distance, leaving them comfortable and close.
But that inherent nobility was always there, ready to be upheld when necessary.
That noble, aloof demeanor when they held themselves with poise could be easily perceived by others, but the bright and gentle moments weren’t necessarily seen by everyone.
Tang Cheng’s fingertips twiddled as if he was thinking about lighting a cigarette, his voice still without much warmth, he said, "What? Do you own Hai City and Feng City too? Are the places you can visit off-limits for Tang Cheng? Even if it’s a matter of who arrived first, I was here before you today. You’re giving me attitude? Considering Ah Su’s face, I’ve shown you enough patience, haven’t I?"
Bo Jingshen kept his lips sealed, his gaze cold.
"By your logic, no one from Beijing is allowed wherever you are? Do you believe that I could make one call and have them all come here to see?" Tang Cheng twiddled his fingertips again and, no longer feeling like holding back, fished a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took one out, and lit it.
Su Lu listened, puzzled—what did Beijing have to do with anything? What connection existed between Bo Jingshen and Beijing?
Although she didn’t delve too much into each other’s families when she was with Bo Jingshen, she remembered that his place of origin was a small county in Jiangnan.
Bo Jingshen turned his gaze towards Su Lu, his voice low but not cold; it sounded calm, perhaps because his previous mood had been so bad and his gaze so icy.
Thus, when he now spoke to Su Lu, there was a striking contrast, even tenderness.
"Go find Jiang Er and let him ask Ji Fulian how to sell that white car. I’ll have a word with Tang Cheng and then join you," Bo Jingshen said.
Su Lu’s brows lightly furrowed, she didn’t say anything, just looked steadily at Bo Jingshen.
Bo Jingshen pursed his lips, and after a moment let out a gentle sigh, whispering softly, "Be good, Su Xiaolu, do as you’re told."
Su Lu bit her lip, but finally stood up and walked towards Jiang Li. However, she couldn’t help but look back at them several times before hesitantly stepping out.
Tang Cheng’s mouth still bore a slight curve, but his smile was somewhat cold.
He was probably also annoyed by Bo Jingshen’s attitude just now.
Now, there was no trace of civility in his tone, his displeasure was plain for all to see. These kinds of people, when they don’t care to maintain their composure, can effortlessly display the petulance inherent in a spoiled young master.
Tang Cheng raised his eyebrows, each sentence ending with a slight upward inflection, adding a more obnoxious quality to his already bratty tone.
"What’s the matter? Do you have to send people away to talk to me? Why is that? You had plenty of confidence when you snubbed me earlier. What’s the need to send her away now? Afraid I’ll spill some of your secrets? Or perhaps, you’re worried that talking about your fiancée might mess up your affairs?"
Su Lu’s steps were unsteady as she approached Jiang Li.
Jiang Li was drinking water and eating a small biscuit. Seeing Su Lu coming over, he smiled gently, "Su Lu you—"
Before Jiang Li could finish, he noticed that Su Lu’s complexion was off, "Why do you look unwell again? Did Bo Jingshen make you car sick? Do you need something to drink or eat?"
Su Lu gently shook her head.
Jiang Li glanced over at Bo Jingshen and obviously saw the incident where Bo Jingshen smashed the cup. However, it was generally not appropriate to go over and gawk at such a scene.
So despite attracting quite a bit of attention, no one went over to join in the commotion.
Jiang Li was no exception, "Hey, I don’t know what his deal is with Beijing, but it’s okay, just sit here for a while. They won’t be bickering for much longer."
Su Lu shook her head, her lips still somewhat pale, and said softly, "Ah Li, I’m not feeling well, I’m going to head back first. Could you give Bo Jingshen a message for me later? And this, he just put it here, can you give it to him?"
She placed a card in front of Jiang Li, the one that Bo Jingshen had casually given her earlier containing today’s prize money.
"Oh, I see," Jiang Li said, with a worried frown. "Then I’ll get Bo Jingshen’s car keys and drive you home?"
Su Lu immediately shook her head, "No need, he’s busy talking business. It’s not worth the trouble; I can go back by myself."
Of course, Jiang Li was not reassured and did not agree with reluctance.
Ji Fuling said from the side, "How about this, I’ll take Mr. Su back."
This made Jiang Li raise an eyebrow, "Isn’t that too much trouble for you?"
Ji Fuling smiled warmly at Jiang Li, "There’s no need to be so polite with me."
He stood up, took out the car keys from his pocket, and said, "Let’s go, Mr. Su. If you don’t mind, I’ll give you a ride home."
"Thank you so much," Su Lu thanked him, and then quickly walked out of the parking lot hall.
Outside, the night breeze was a bit strong. It wasn’t cold but made her eyes sting and nearly brought her to tears.
She had heard it all.
