Mountain Sitting Immortal
Chapter 405 - 405: Fire And Brimstone.

His voice was cold and sharp. So it made Jade shiver and feel a pang of fear. But that didn't make her understand what he was saying to her.

So he explained it to her by saying, "Let me make it clear to you. If you decide to use force against me or scheme against me, be prepared to go to the bitter end, even until death. Be prepared to risk it all, including our lives. Be prepared to witness the advent of fire and brimstone."

As he spoke, the life seed within him was riled up by his emotions. The internal energy within him began to leak involuntarily into the environment. Because his internal energy was of the wood element, it made the grass around him begin to grow wildly.

The grass around him grew so fast that it reached the knees of the people close to him in a few seconds. The grasses were also angry like him, so they snaked around the feet of everyone nearby and tightened around them.

He didn't mean any harm, but that didn't change the fact that he was angry and he was powerful. The grasses were channeling his anger and power, so even though he didn't use full force to control them, the grasses were beginning to crush whatever they were entangling.

He has a nominal power of 550 units. This is 5 times more than the nominal power output of 110 units for those at the peak of the second mortal coil and also 2.5 times more than the 220 units that the disciples of the Blood Skull sect are capable of.

So even though he didn't use full force, the unconscious release of his power is capable of killing everyone around him.

He had become the thing he always tried to avoid anytime he jumped back in fright when he noticed that Elder Storm Hawk's emotions were unstable. He was about to kill the weaklings around him in a fit of anger.

Fortunately, it didn't come to that. After giving his warning to Jade, he calmed down instantly.

He was still angry at all. But he had regained preliminary control over his emotions enough to become cold and collected.

His internal energy was reined back into his body. This caused the weeds that had grown to lack the support of his power.

The weeds still maintained their length, but they had lost the power that made them threatening. This made it easy for the people that they captured to free themselves.

Jade was one of those people. As the target of his anger, she had borne the full impact of that anger.

The grass had grown from her feet all the way to her neck. They had covered her completely in a green blanket and were strangling her.

There was nothing she could do to resist. In a few seconds, she would have died. The main reason why she hadn't died was that he didn't have any interest in killing her.

If he had a reason to kill her, and if the reason was compelling or, better yet, justified, then he would have considered breaking the rules of the sect and killing her.

For now, he stopped at threatening her. Then he said to her in a voice that was cold enough to freeze bones, "Leave me. If you have any love for your family, you will tell them not to make me angry. You will tell them to leave me unless they are willing to risk everything they have to bring me down."

Jade was still breathless. She had just released herself from the prison of weeds that wanted to crush her to pulp. So she was breathless and scared.

The display of power had scared her. In that moment when she was looking at death in the eye, Arthur was much more like a cultivator at the third mortal coil than some people at the third mortal coil. This realization made her become angrier after she calmed down.

She said, "You're an ungrateful bastard. You gained this talent and power because of the years of work of our family. Yet, you refuse to use your power to help us."

"You don't even have to do much. But you refused because you didn't want to share your power. You're selfish and ungrateful, just like your mother."

He growled at her, "Leave, now."

His anger was palpable and could be sensed directly from the intensity at which the weeds around them began to move. The people around him had learned their lesson, so they scattered away from him as quickly as they could.

As for Jade, in order to preserve her life, she decided to stop before going too far. She shut up and turned away from him.

She left in a hurry, but from the look that she gave him before she left, she was unlikely to warn her family not to mess with him. It was even more likely that she would encourage them to do whatever needed to be done to force him to do their bidding.

Arthur finally relaxed after she left. He let out the breath that he was holding, and his beating heart began to calm down.

It was now that he noticed that he was in the fight-or-flight mode. And from his recent actions, he was getting ready to fight.

He calmed down and exhaled deeply. While he was doing this, Thor came over to him and said, "What was that about?"

He shook his head and said, "Nothing. It was just some foolish people who think that they can threaten me."

Thor didn't question him for more. He nodded in understanding before changing the topic.

He looked around and whistled in appreciation at the embarrassed form of everyone around him. Then he said, "I didn't know you were this strong. It seems the people in the personnel hall have better judgment than me. With this kind of strength and potential, you truly deserve to be number 1 in the outer sect."
