Chapter 998: 984, What to do if you feel dizzy (1) Chapter 998: 984, What to do if you feel dizzy (1) Jian Qing shook his head firmly and passed the wine to Bai Jue, “No.”
Bai Jue took the bottle of wine, smiling as he looked at Grandpa Jian, “Grandpa Jian, we will savor this bottle of wine properly and won’t waste your years of precious collection.”
Old Master Jian blew his beard and glared at him, snorting lightly.
“Remember to leave the money for the wine.”
The others couldn’t help but chuckle.
Apart from Jian Luo, Quan Jingwu and the other men all poured themselves some wine.
“Eat more vegetables, no picky eating,” Black Jack cautioned the person next to him whose chopsticks continuously went for the meat dishes, his brows slightly furrowed.
Jian Luo outright ignored his voice, happily gnawing on a little lamb steak.
Suddenly, a chopstick-full of green vegetables flew into his bowl, making his head spin.
Jian Luo glanced sideways at the person next to him, wanting to pick the vegetables out and give them back, “I have enough to eat, don’t pick for me.”
Deep blue eyes gleaming with insight, Black Jack pressed down his chopsticks, “No, you must eat vegetables, you have a weak stomach, you need to eat more vegetables.”
Jian Wei looked at her son’s bowl full of vegetables and chuckled lightly, “Luoluo, you’re still as picky as when you were a child. Black Jack is right, you need to eat more vegetables.”
“Mom!” Jian Luo called out miserably.
Jian Wei shook her head, “Calling mom won’t help, you’ve always had a weak stomach because of picky eating.”
Jian Luo glared at Black Jack and viciously bit into the lamb steak.
He chewed one bite after another, as if he were biting into someone’s flesh.
Black Jack calmly accepted his “unfriendly” gaze and added another chopstick of bitter gourd to his bowl.
“…”
Jian Luo stared at the bitter gourd in his bowl, even his favorite lamb steak tasting bland.
Black Jack, just you wait.
“Black Jack, Bai Jue, have you and Qingqing and Luoluo been acquainted for a long time?” Jian Wei asked curiously, wanting to know more about her children.
Bai Jue sipped his wine and nodded with a smile, “Yes, we met not long after they came to M Country.”
“No wonder you’re so close,” Jian Wei’s eyes gleamed with laughter, looking at Black Jack with satisfaction, “Black Jack is so considerate, if I had another daughter, I would definitely play matchmaker for you.”
“Pfft—”
Before she could finish speaking, everyone burst out laughing.
In an instant, a row of crows flew over their heads.
Jian Luo coughed until his face turned red, “Cough cough…”
His own mother, no ordinary sentences came from her!
Jian Qing took a sip of juice to cool off, looking at Black Jack with a hint of teasing in his eyes.
Quan Jingwu picked up his glass and gave a nod to Black Jack, his crimson lips revealing a deep, low chuckle.
Black Jack, “…”
Who had he offended?
“Why such a big reaction?” Jian Wei looked at them, puzzled, with a clueless expression, “Did I say something wrong?”
“It’s nothing, Weiwei, have some fish.” Mo Xiao coughed lightly and hurriedly placed the deboned fish flesh into her bowl.
Jian Wei felt they were all acting strangely and glanced at Black Jack, “Black Jack, do you have a girlfriend?”
“Auntie, you don’t know yet, but Black Jack here…” Bai Jue said, stirring the pot.
“Mom, this soup is good, have a taste,” Jian Luo interrupted, affectionately filling a bowl of soup and placing it in front of Jian Wei.
Jian Wei took a sip of the soup, remembered that Bai Jue hadn’t finished speaking, and looked up at him, “What about Black Jack?”
As Bai Jue was about to speak, his handsome face suddenly twisted in pain.
He glanced sideways at the person next to him, enduring the pain as he continued, “Black Jack is a prime catch, an excellent choice for a husband.”
Under the table, Black Jack stepped on Bai Jue’s foot, grinding it.
Then, he withdrew his foot without any change in expression.
Bai Jue grimaced in pain, mentally beating Black Jack to a pulp.
Damn Black Jack, this vendetta won’t be settled until it’s paid.
Jian Qing couldn’t resist stirring the pot, “Bai Jue, what’s wrong? Your face is all red.”
“It’s nothing, I just accidentally bit my tongue,” Bai Jue picked up his wine glass, grinding his back teeth together fiercely.
“I’ve heard that people who tell lies will bite their tongues; could it be true?” Quan Jingwu said with a half-smile.
Black Jack glanced over with his blue eyes, meeting the smile in his gaze, and secretly clenched his teeth.
Fine, he’d endure it.
Quan Jingwu, let’s see how long you can show off.
“Let’s talk after we finish eating; the food is getting cold,” Jian Luo, who was closest to Black Jack, sensed the dark aura around him and quickly tried to smooth things over.
“Luoluo is right, let’s talk after we eat,” the elder Jian, catching the look of pleading from his grandson, agreed.
Jian Wei looked at them with a suspicious gaze, feeling that something was amiss.
After dinner, Bai Jue went to do a check-up for Jian Wei, while Jian Qing was busy video calling with Rhee and others, holding the two little treasures in her arms.
On the sofa, Jian Luo was playing games on his phone, with Black Jack occasionally acting as his strategic advisor.
On the table, the water was boiling, bubbling away.
In the air, the fragrance of tea was wafting.
The elder Jian sipped his tea and then looked over to Black Jack and Jian Luo indifferently, “Luoluo, have you thought about how to tell your mom yet?”
The inevitable had arrived.
Jian Luo put down his phone, leaned over, picked up a cup of tea, and took a sip, “My mom just woke up, and I’m afraid of upsetting her. Let’s delay it for a couple of days before telling her.”
If his mom found out, it might knock her out, and then he and Black Jack would likely be kicked out by his dad.
“You shouldn’t delay this kind of thing for too long,” the elder Jian said.
Jian Luo nodded.
“We’ll go back in a few days, hmm, good,” Jian Qing said, placing the phone in front of the two little treasures, who sent a flying kiss to the person on the other side of the phone.
Ending the video call, Jian Qing put down the little ones and her gaze wandered over Jian Luo and Black Jack, “Luoluo, even if you don’t say anything for now, the things on you could betray you.”
Their mother, overly excited, hadn’t yet noticed the wedding rings on their hands, but as soon as she paid a little attention, their relationship would be discovered.
Jian Luo followed her gaze to his hand, saw the wedding ring, and his lips twitched.
Could they say they were just outrageously lucky?
No one noticed during dinner, either.
“Just tell the truth if we get found out,” Black Jack suddenly said.
Jian Luo cocked his head, looking at him, “And what if it knocks my mom out with shock?”
“Mom is very pleased with me,” Black Jack said smoothly.
Jian Luo suddenly remembered what his mother had said at the dinner table and felt a surge of frustration.
She was pleased with him—until she found out about what was going on between them.
If his mom found out her “daughter-in-law” was a man, there’s no telling if she might chase them out with a broom.
Quan Jingwu teased, “Are you sure she’s pleased?”
Black Jack shot him a glance, “If you’re jealous, just say it.”
Quan Jingwu’s thin lips curved up slightly, “I’ll give you that line.”
“Give what?”
After the check-up, Mo Xiao helped Jian Wei downstairs.
