Chapter 993: 979, drive towards here (2) Chapter 993: 979, drive towards here (2) He looked down at his watch, his eyes tinged with urgency.
Why hasn’t she arrived yet.
Suddenly, a series of soft footsteps arose.
He lifted his gaze and saw A’er carrying a person, hurrying towards him.
The slender figure was unmistakably that of a woman.
Mo Xiao’s heart thudded, the veins on the back of his hand visibly standing out.
“I’ve brought the person, now you go inside first,” A’er said as he set Jian Wei down. Jian Wei had not yet steadied herself when she fell into a warm embrace.
In an instant, a long-missed familiarity spread throughout her body.
“Weiwei!”
The man’s deep, husky voice was slightly hoarse.
Jian Wei stiffened, her throat constricted, as her eyes gradually reddened.
It’s him!
She lowered her eyes to look at the large hand placed on her waist, biting her lip hard.
A’er glanced at the two of them, then turned and left the yacht, sending a message to Jian Qing.
Jian Wei slowly turned around, forgetting her injuries hadn’t yet healed, her legs gave way, and she stumbled, plunging forward.
Without the expected pain, Mo Xiao scooped her up sideways and carried her towards the inside of the yacht.
Jian Wei lifted her head, the man’s sharply contoured chin entered her view. She trembled as she brought her hand to his cheek, her eyes brimming with a misty haze.
“An!”
Her voice was soft, yet clear in Mo Xiao’s ear.
His steps faltered, his heart beating faster, his arms tightening around her.
He looked down at the person in his embrace, even with a mask on, those bright and clear eyes, he would never forget in this lifetime.
Their eyes locked, and time seemed to stand still.
In the end, it was Mo Xiao who spoke first, “I bought you a cake without red beans. It’s been a few days, and now it’s moldy.”
Upon hearing this, the tears in Jian Wei’s eyes couldn’t be restrained, streaming down her face as she found her voice again, “Then buy me another one, okay?”
Scalding tears dropped onto his hand, searing his heart, as he lowered his head to kiss her forehead and whispered, “Okay.”
Jian Wei’s lips curled into a blissful smile.
“Grandpa.”
The soft, adorable voice rang out, and Mo Xiao looked down to see two little treasures, one on each side of him. “Nineteen,” Jian Wei said, lowering her gaze to see Nineteen, her eyes lighting up.
She reached out to touch him, but Nineteen stepped back, his clear purple eyes warily watching her. It then dawned on Jian Wei that she was still wearing a mask, so she hurriedly tore off the human skin mask.
Mo Xiao watched the person in his arms, his thin lips quietly curving into a smile.
“Grandma,” both the treasures called out in unison.
Jian Wei noticed Seventeen and watching his delicate little face, the smile in her eyes deepened further.
“Seventeen, Nineteen, stay here with Grandma, Grandpa will go outside for a bit,” Mo Xiao said as he carefully placed Jian Wei on the couch and lifted the two treasures beside her.
The two little ones nodded obediently, “Mhm.”
Mo Xiao looked at Jian Wei, they shared a smile, and he got up and walked out.
Where the sea and the sky were one, the glistening waves, breathtakingly beautiful, were hard to turn away from.
“Surround them all for me.”
A cold voice erupted abruptly, accompanied by disordered footsteps.
Mo Xiao and A’er turned around simultaneously, and under the sunlight, Shen Hua was surrounded by an aura of chill, making the temperature around plummet to freezing.
Almost at the same time, a group of men in black emerged from all directions, encircling them.
“This is bad,” A’er thought with a sinking heart.
The eldest son arrived so quickly, what on earth happened to the second son.
Mo Xiao swept a glance over the black-clad men around him, his gaze slightly hardened.
Seeing the figure standing upon the yacht, Shen Hua’s murderous aura cascaded down.
“An, Zhe!”
He lifted his gaze to the yacht, searching for Jian Wei’s silhouette, “An Zhe, where’s Weiwei? Return her to me, and maybe I’ll consider letting you die a little more gracefully.”
Mo Xiao stepped forward, scoffing coldly, “Return her to you? Hah, Shen Hua, think before you speak. Weiwei is my lawful wife, what do you mean ‘return’ her?”
“My dad was right, Shen Hua, you caused our family of four to be separated for many years, and we will settle this debt today.” A chilly voice pierced the air, as Jian Qing and Quan Jingwu moved like ghosts, breaking into the encirclement.
The sea breeze blew as the three of them stood facing each other.
In an instant, the tense atmosphere tightened everyone’s nerves.
Shen Hua, watching the man who stood shoulder to shoulder with Jian Qing, felt a surge of murderous intent in his eyes.
Good, very good, everyone’s here.
He looked past them, his gaze landing on A’er, “A’er, you know what fate awaits you for betraying me.”
A’er hung his head low, as Shen Hua sneered, a cruel smile stretching across his lips.
“Ada, kill him.”
Ada drew his gun swiftly, the cold muzzle aimed in A’er’s direction, a hint of hesitation crossing his eyes.
“What are you waiting for? Do you also wish to betray me?” Shen Hua glanced sideways at him, a cold light flickering in his eyes.
Ada steeled his heart, his fingertips trembling slightly.
“Stop.”
Shen Yan hurried over, grabbed Ada’s hand, and knocked the gun from his grasp with a backhand slap.
“Second son!” Seeing Shen Yan appear safe and unharmed, A’er sighed in relief.
Shen Yan stood in front of Jian Qing, looking directly at Shen Hua, “Brother, stop this. You’ve committed too many mistakes, don’t persist in your delusions.”
Shen Hua replied harshly, “Get out of my way.”
Shen Yan glanced back at Jian Qing, urging her softly, “Leave now.”
“We can’t leave you behind,” Jian Qing replied firmly, gripping his wrist.
“Go, even if I escaped with you, I wouldn’t live much longer.” Shen Yan shook off her hand, urgency in his expression, “Quick, leave.”
“None of you can leave,” Shen Hua said menacingly, “If you think you can move faster than a bomb, feel free to try.”
Shen Yan turned to look at him, as Shen Hua took off the necklace around his neck, toying with it in his hand.
Jian Qing’s cool eyes hardened slightly; Shen Hua, this maniac, was actually carrying such a thing with him.
Looking at the necklace in Shen Hua’s hand, Shen Yan asked calmly, “Brother, must you kill to be satisfied?”
“Those who oppose me deserve to die,” Shen Hua raged.
Shen Yan laughed sardonically, pulling out a gun from his pocket; this time, he aimed at Shen Hua.
The unexpected move stunned everyone on the scene.
Shen Hua glanced at the dark gun muzzle, suppressing his anger, “You want to kill me?”
He was the only family he had in this world, and yet he was ready to kill his own brother for these outsiders, for Jian Qing.
“Let them go,” Shen Yan said.
“If you have the guts, shoot,” Shen Hua retorted, tossing his gun aside, stepping forward, and pointing at his own chest, “Shoot here.”
Shen Yan closed his eyes, then opened them again, a ruthless look crossing their depths, “You forced this on me.”
Before the echo faded, Shen Yan turned the gun, directing it towards his own chest, and pulled the trigger.
“Bang—”
Before anyone could react, a deafening gunshot sounded.
In an instant, blood splattered across the sky, and silence fell.
